If the RPG mode was in it we'd have undoubtedly heard something about it or seen a screenshot by this point.
For now I'd just expect it to be like the console games.

I was wondering the same thing. I think that they should have said something about it by now, though, so I wouldn't expect it to be in the game... even though Camelot is developing it, I'm not that hyped and I'm not sure if I'll get it or not.

I hope Fire Emblem comes to the US as well. Seeing XenoBlade and Last Story coming, and Nintendo's shift to core games again, I'm optimistic that it'll get localized.

But seeing that trailer is getting me disappointed...and worried. My excitement for Last Story is squashed by the lack of a FE announcement for NA.

Dual Stick 3DS is pretty much a lock for this event, given it's PS Vita launch day party pooping. Plus a free strap-on program to current owners, wiimote condom style.

Fortunately I will trade my launch 3DS in tomorrow for a PS Vita before the price crashes (again), will get back on the bandwagon with the revision.

Also, since Reggie was talking about controlling Xenoblade with classic controller, does anyone know if it's also compatible with the Gamecube controller? It seems like that would be perfect.

We knew Spirit Camera was getting released in NA a while ago.

Xenoblade doesn't support the GameCube controller.

As far as I know, the game has 0 release announcements outside of Japan. Which I think is absolutely batshit crazy considering how both titles have a decent fanbase outside of Japan.

Which is why it not being mentioned in the NA Nintendo Direct isn't a big deal. It's still a long way off and there should be other Nintendo Directs and then there is E3 and even GDC (could be included about talk about the Nintendo Network and their plans for DLC going forward if there is any talk there). I honestly like the focus on titles just releasing or soon to be releasing with them touching on something further out. I do hope though that the next one, which should be April if the schedule stays the same and if NoA has another one, there is a feature on Xenoblade the way there was on Kid Icarus.

The subtitled EU version of the Nintendo Direct conference said that the game didn't even have a name yet. "Demon Training" is a mode of the game that's considered really hard, and the Kawashima head grows devil horns and shit. It doesn't turn you into a demon. That appears to just be a translation hiccup on whoever wrote that account of the event.

I hear ya. I'm not suggesting that Xenoblade is getting a half-assed release. Just, I guess, pondering at the possibility that Nintendo intended to bring Last Story and Xenoblade to US all along, but pulled this stunt to build up hype, attention, publicity and fan-desperation to the point where even if the US release was crap, fans would have gobbled it up.

To be fair though, most games that offer CCPro controller support also offer GC-controller support. (Grant it this is mostly true with older BC games, but still.)

But it's all a moot point now I guess. Glad we're getting the games.

Man, Bill Trinen might be a good translator, but he's not very good at interviews. He was no good at being the interviewer today and he's no good at being interviewed either, from what I've seen in the past. He looks like he is so on edge and about ready to snap and get mad at someone. If they're gong to do something like that in the future, they should get JC Rodrigo to do it. He's much better at this sort of thing.
