Exactly my concern, hope Horizont is the real deal.

Some things that I find odd about the trailer :
- FM4's live action trailer at least had some gameplay element (although, I'm not sure if the the last bit with the Lambo is live action)
- No Forza logo, using the Forza brand, you'd think they'd try to use the recognizableF3 FM logo introduced since FM3 ?
- The leaked FM4 trailer was quickly pulled from youtube IIRC, this one is still there despite the embargo. I know pulling it would confirm that it's legit but still, I think nothing else leaked from the showcase so NDAs seem to be working.
- The FM4 live action trailer didn't mention the source of the footage (what's the point in a trailer)
I guess we'll find out on monday...

alll true...but it is a "tone" trailer....which isn't really supposed to show anything from the actual product, jusy give indication to the direction. they use that kind of video in marketing before the actual product has anything to show, just to convey the idea they are going for.

And perhaps it wasn't supposed to be shown publicly, just like the Forza 4 pitch trailer which used some FM3 footage, among other things.

I like to see developers doing this.
I think that this is a good way for MS to develop aspects of forza that can be translated into forza motorsport at some point.
I hope that MS makes these devs focus on arcadey style stuff, but also work on rally and weather so that it can be incorporated into forza at some point.

A pitch trailer without any game footage (incomplete or not) would not make sense. I could get behind a teaser trailer, but like I said it's missing the stuff that would make it legit.

maybe forza horizons isn't a game perse. Maybe it's a forza version of halo waypoint?
This trailer could easily speak to the social aspect of what a community portal like that would be trying to do. As for the game developers, certain affinity was heavily involved with developing waypoint, so it's not too far fetched.
Agreed, that part was super off. Fairly sure if this is in the works they'd at least have a working logo, or could whip one up in a minute.
Pretty sure I had you on my ignore list from the Forza vs. GT thread. Looks like trolls will still be trolls...
Anyway, I was about to mention it as well but I'm guessing that at most, it's a fan-made trailer that somehow got misinterpreted (deliberately or otherwise) as a "leak" and consequently uploaded. Unsubbing from this thread, I think!

I think it might be a remix though... I know some trailers usually do a bit of editing and resequencing, but that version was considerably different from the original.
They don't have much say in the matter if it IS a fan-made trailer, do they? There's nothing even close to official-looking in it, so I'm going to hedge my bets and say it's either by a fan or is an extremely early-stage edit by a marketing company looking at getting a contract with MS.
Edit: Didn't notice the little credits thing at the end. Might get some google-fu happening. Oh, and it's the Soulwax remix of Hey Boy Hey Girl, according to Shazam

I was *just* thinking that. Horizon is an amazing name for an open-world racer.

If this is real and turns out to be a much more competent Test Drive Unlimited it could be the Forza game I've always wanted.
Pretty much. As soon as an open-world Forza was announced, I've been picturing TDU2 with PGR4 physics and driving model (and graphics too). That would probably be my dream game.

Sure, but couldn't any spin-off hurt a franchise it belongs to? If they weren't satisfied with the way the project was coming along, they would've scrapped it instead of revealing it to the public.
