Wii U Speculation Thread The Third: Casting Dreams in The Castle of Miyamoto

Killer Freaks will have a much longer dev time than Red Steel, though.
Over 2 years, in fact.
So it should be a lot better quality.
the premise of killer freaks has potential, a campy/dark shooter and whatnot but I don't know if it'll have the required depth, and I don't know if ubisoft can avoid that launch game dumpfest they have going on lately.

So does anyone else thing that at E3 2013, Sony is going to trot out the PS4 with a tablet controller that has back touch, a forward facing camera, an OLED screen, motion, and clicky analog sticks?

But why the Raving Rabbits design!?

Large parts of the Killer Freaks team worked on the Rabbids games and got sick of the characters, so they wanted to put them in as placeholders just to blow them up. But that was for the techdemo, there probably won't be any rabbids in the final game.

Pretty sure they'll stay.

Don't forget in 12 days we might see the first wii u ingame screens
Holy smoke, I missed that GameInformer info. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, might as well say this is a wii u screenshot

if they do then the console probably won't be high end because they won't be able to afford that. I say it'll have a screen, probably capacitive and whatnot, but nothing crazy. It's a good idea to just do it. Would be nice to have this screen controller thing standard next-gen.

And they'll trumpet how "innovative" and "original" they are, too. It'll be a hoot.

I'd be inclined to agree if it weren't sony we were talking about

lol maybe that's why they want to wait a year, so the price will go down on the crazy parts they will use for their spanking new 499 US dollar console. CHEAPER than ps3 (was).

Seriously though, I'm pretty excited to see their take on it, you know it'll be a similar concept. Interesting stuff. Sucks that 2013 is so damn far off. Maybe TGS :(

Gonna be glorious when all 3 next-gen console threads are up.

Has the purpose behind Nintendo pushing Ubisoft to demonstrate Killer Freaks from Outer Space at E3 2011 been explained? The game was in a very early state in development and did not help Nintendo market Wii U as something technically impressive. Sure, the development state was explicitly detailed, but couldn't they have brought something else or just avoided showing it there, wasn't the demo of The Legend of Zelda enough?

The website for this game doesn't even feature a Wii U logo, not one I can see anyway: http://www.killerfreaks.com/index2.html

The audio track available is nice though: http://www.killerfreaks.com/CDN/loop2.mp3

Yeah that's how I see it going down. Sony is pretty nuts in my opinion. I was holding out hope for their rise to heaven webcast last friday but at least this point I'm convinced they have no business sense.

I hope that they shoot for the friggin' moon again. $599, baby!

muahahahaha..!

I'm expecting $499 and terrible sales...

It was basically Nintendo saying "Hey! See here?! We can get third parties on board too!"
The same reason that had the CEO of EA come on stage and basically say nothing.

I think it was more of an act of support for 3rd party content. Ubisoft is one of nintendo's biggest partners. Both companies have made a ton of money off each other.

Have they restructured their uber-bleeding divisions yet? Tick-tock..
(I haven't been paying attention)

This thread is traveling so god damn fast

I don't post that often, but I read EVERY SINGLE POST in both previous threads, because GAF is just that entertaining. I believe that grasping at straws is the correct way to go and that this is necessary to truly appreciate HYPE.

So freaking excited for this console and E3, something I can't say for many other people I meet. And I still move in an environment filled to the brim with vidya people. Some guy didn't even know that the subscreen was a different screen from the television
howthefuck

but whatevs, let's all make resolutions:
As a new thread's resolution, I'm going to try to post more often

I always figured it was to show off that asymmetrical multiplayer goodness from a third party as well, sorta saying "Hey look this is easy do this"

EDIT: do you think...that with a little luck...we might get Double Fine Adventure for the Wii U? The interface is certainly there, and an online store. How much does a devkit usually cost?

The lack of news is depressing. :(

Being on here makes it a bit more tolerable, I think.

But then again, focusing on it so much can be maddening. When the N64 arrived, I saw it in Nintendo Power a few months ahead of time, and then carried-on with life..

Nah..but's not going to be anything special either.

slightly upgraded port with some menu stuff crammed onto the pad. Etc....

Well, then if it's good on the other systems it will be good on this one then. That's fine with me because I only by games for one system.
