What? That's not my reality! No no no. I'm not in denial either :p

Yes, I think some people are taking the top ten posters in the thread race very seriously.

*ehem* Not me. It's like comparing your e-peen size. :p

and besides, no ones ever going to outpost guek. He's on fire today.

Better to just turn them into WarioWare games like usual.

That reminds me. This NEEDS a Warioware game. Think of all the quirky things they could do with this controller + in combination with the old wiimote.

3rd thread and still nothing, huh? Well then, I guess I'll just go do anything else. Enjoy your race to the "top poster", folks.

anyone has a link to this samaritan demo? was there something new this at this GDC?

I just saw the cryengine 3 stuff

I am just trying to guess what WiiU stuff could look like since Nintendo is being stingy

just youtube samaritan demo. and I don't think there was anything new at GDC other than the Cryengine 3 trailer w/ the supposedly Wii U footage of Aliens: Colonial Marines.

I still don't get why Nintendo doesn't release direct feed of the Bird and Zelda demo...would give us a bit more to mull around.

So stunning. I eagerly await whatever they have cooking. I do think they're making 2 different games though, a 3DS game and a Wii U game. I highly doubt we'll see their Wii U effort this E3.

It's official that they are developing two games: one for Wii U and one for 3DS.

Yeah, but because of its purple color I remember some saying that it is a kiddie console.

Until RE4 came out.
/care. When they saw it in black they called it a lunchbox :p

But man, that kiddie console still has one of my favourite "mAtOoOr" games in it's library: Resident Evil. Recently played it again and man it's such a beautiful game. And creepy.

Thinking back about the Cube makes me realize that there was a time Ubisoft had a constant stream of fantastic releases. Prince of Persia SoT, Beyond Good & Evil, Splinter Cell...

yes i am :p

anyhow we could spend our time trying to make some mockups of what we think the Wii OS will look like, anyone on board?

love this one btw

That one looks nice, but I really think the E-Shop should and will be featured a bit more prominently. Just one medium sized icon (like the Wii Shopping Channel) isn't enough. Although it will hopefully be a bit less intrusive than XBLA and it's ads. It's all about striking the right balance.

They'll likely do like on the 3DS and send out notifications for new games and programs.

Yeah. It had great mature content, but this was always ignored because that content wasn't directly from Nintendo. Just ignorant.

I hope they keep the Wiis OS. It was revolutionary.
"revolution"-pun aside. The OS worked great but really lacks some major industrie standarts.

the ycan work with it but bump it up waaaay more.

after hearing the rumors of a whole bunch of RAM packed away for OS only leave me with a good feeling.

i think that nintendo needs to understand that they cannot standardize everything... look at the eShop... why the heck every single content on it has an "info button" that doesn't do anything?

and why are video, demo, games all treated as they are the same things with the same buttons etc?
they need to understand that every content needs it's own gui, and i think that was the problem with Wii os as well... every application, being core or not was just the same: a big huge box on my screen...

This fucking thread is hilarious. Incredible how much people can talk without having seen the thing in their hands. Incredible.

Best part of it: people who are so used to Retina displays that they can't even look at their one year old 3DS. :lol
I own a 4S and this makes me laugh so hard, damn.

i hate that thread... and trust me it gets worse and worse as you read through it...

most of naysayers were just mad because nintendo controller was not an ipad...

the thread's just flame and troll bait, guys. don't put yourself through such things if you can't stand it.

and have we ever discussed why Nintendo gets so much hate, especially in the media? I mean what's the root of hatred for it? Its success through motion controls? Its success through decades-old "kiddy" IPs like Mario and Pokemon? It's cool to hate on Nintendo?
Reggie farted in the elevator once? :p
Can anyone pinpoint the reason why people do this?

hey, nice OP ace! glad im in on the ground floor of this one because

*looks at post #*

oh my god what have you people being doing
we know even less than the last thread

We should all take guesses as to which post will be the first to contain totally new, totally confirmed info regarding Wii U or Wii U games.

I'll say post 2,361 of Speculation Thread 4.

Out of curiosity, and being European, I searched on google maps Nintendo America headquarters and I was amazed when I saw where the headquarters is located ...

In Spain we have an expression: Meterse en la boca del lobo. I don't know if in english has the same meaning: On the wolf´s mouth.

I can not believe how surronded they are XD

It actually all falls back to the days of Sega, Nintendo was uncool, and sega kids wore sunglasses. "Sega does what Nintendon't" and such. When Sony joined the market and killed the Saturn, they became the cool kid, and started to just repeat Sega's marketing against Nintendo, eventually Microsoft joined the market and it continued. Nintendo never took it seriously, I mean they had Golden Eye in the N64 era, which was about the least "kiddy" title you could think of that generation, minus maybe bad fur day, which was also on the N64. But they couldn't really do FMVs, Nintendo couldn't follow industry standards, and movies in games was huge after FF7, the industry wanted to move in that direction (which we still see today)

When the Gamecube came out with small discs, it again showed an unwillingness to follow the industry, there was also only 3 shoulder buttons, and a giant A, which in hindsight is probably one of the greatest controllers in history, at the time was seen as a joke, add in that the console had a handle, and everyone was calling it a purple lunchbox.

The Wii ended up not following the move to HD, the industry really saw Nintendo as someone that wouldn't work with them, and Nintendo figured it could just do everything on it's own, they gambled that motion controls would blow up and take the entire market away from their competitors. The only problem was the Wii also didn't follow the industry architecture wise, the industry had backed the move to HD and the standard architecture from the beginning, but it became painfully clear that Wii had successfully disrupted the market, to the point where it was join them or die off. Lots of studios simply died off because they had backed the wrong horse until the bitter end.

The only saving grace for the entire industry was that PS3 and 360 combined made up 40-50% of the install base, and once tools to easily port between those consoles happened, they could ignore Wii. Nintendo played it's cards very well, but the adoption to HD had been faster than anyone expected, and the stubbornness of the industry this last generation is utterly amazing. Anyways this is the story why the industry hates Nintendo, and the competitors have marketed this towards us, a lot of us have bought it; hook, line and sinker.

Asked if it was releasing Wii U prematurely by a viewer, the Wedbush Morgan analyst said in his GameTrailers show Pach-Attack: “The reason that you’re saying that it’s premature, I think you’re really trying to suggest that it’s not going to sell well.

Michael Pachter said:
“I think that if in fact it’s a lot like an Xbox 360 in terms of graphics, frame rate and control scheme, then it’s probably not going to sell well unless it’s priced a lot cheaper, and I don’t think they’re launching the console at $150.
Michael Pachter said:

“So, yeah I think they are about to Dreamcast themselves. I don’t think Wii U is going to be as popular as probably Nintendo thinks it’s going to be. Question is, what does Nintendo do next, and I don’t know the answer yet. Let’s see howWii U sells, and I’m not going to predict this demise until I know pricing and features. When I know more about it, I’ll offer a better opinion.”

Serious question..Has he ever been right about Nintendo?

Oh lol seriously, marketing and propaganda formed people's perception of Nintendo? I don't know what to think about this :/ It's pretty obvious in hindsight though, should have expected it...

Serious question..Has he ever been right about Nintendo?
if everything he said were to be interpreted as the opposite, then yes, yes he has.
