Just had my neighbor try to knock down my door and threaten to kill me

Seriously, the dude needs to be locked up. Almost guarantee that if he doesn't flip it tomorrow he will at some point in the near future :\

why did they even let him out in the first place after he fucked up a cop? Feels like you're dealing with straight up cartoon level moron-police. Whats even the point in them? They might as well just say "basically you're gonna have to either move or drug/kill him yourself!"

He's been locked up for the night now so that's good, but court is tomorrow and he'll be out again. So who fucking knows what's going to happen.

I recorded bits and pieces of it, not sure if it captured anything, so don't expect much, but I will look at the videos tomorrow and post them if they're good. I'm going to bed now though, it's 11:22pm. Goodnight everyone. And thanks for all the thoughts! Sorry I couldn't update any quicker.

Bizarre. It could be mistaken identity. Something happened and you were in the vicinity.

Let say his car got scratched and he asked someone in the neighbourhood if they saw anything. That person says he thinks it might have been you because he saw you walking past the car earlier.

Could be something like that.

Having said that, how the fuck is it possible that this guy could be let out again tomorrow?

Don't blame the cops for a piss weak legal system.
The aggressor will get a slap on the wrist in court, and even if he beat reggie to a pulp the dude would probably get 12 months suspended sentence and a $210 fine.

Yeah, that's how it should be. The only thing weaker than the police here are the courts. He'll be let free by them too. I'm glad the cops aren't like American cops but damn, they are just too weak here.

He's clearly crazy as shit, but having dealt with similarly crazy people in the past I do know that it's even worse if you don't talk to them and explain that you're not guilty of whatever the fuck it is they think you're guilty of. He probably assumes you not wanting to open up is an admission.

What the fuck does one have to do to be actually placed in jail for more than a few hours in Australia? In America, just the resisting arrest and getting an officer all scratched up and shit would have them locked up with no, or very high bail. Seems like you guys don't even HAVE a bail system, just catch and release? I don't even...

aside from the fact if an AVO is in place the cops MUST respond to all calls and take them seriously

thats kinda a big deal in this thing

edit: i imagine in the court he will be charged with assault, assault on a police officer, depending on the damage to the female cop, gbh and making a nuisance

The assault against the officer should convince the court he needs to be remanded until the trial.

Your best hope is that his defence pleads insanity and he gets commited to a psychological hospital to get fixed up

This is like the shittiest thing I've ever heard. Dude threatens you pounds on your door, you call the cops and they have a jovial talk with him, nothing happens as a result. He comes back, does the same shit again, you call the cops and they actually have the nerve to tell you to stop bothering them so you provide them with video evidence. Then the inept fucks finally go over there and take him away not before sustaining their own injuries though. Dude returns the very same day (lol Australia) and tries to fuck with you some more. Cops need to be called again and now he's in lock up again.

But after court tomorrow he'll be back out.

What the fuck I don't even. I need to sleep but god damn, god damn.

I forgot about that bit. Attacking a police officer is quite serious. I'm not sure that's what happened though. The police officers probably tripped over their own feet and banged their heads on the floor considering how inept they are. lol

I don't think our situation with guns is all that great here in America. However, in the rare edge cases like these it's invaluable.

In addition, you can bet your ass that if you take a swipe at a cop here you're not leaving the cooler any time soon, especially if you draw blood on one.

Something like this (obviously not as crazy/scary/dangerous) happened to me last summer. Woken up at 2am with a woman trying to bang down my door and screaming to let her in or she'd call the cops on me. She was drunk or druggy and the house she was looking for was on the next block. She thought it was her boyfriend's house (apparently because both houses were white with blue cars in the driveway, lol) and was wondering why her keys didn't work. I had to yell at her through the door about this, but eventually she realized it, apologized, and staggered away.

and no, she was not hot, she looked like a 50+ year old skank

That's actually a good thing in this case.
Police officers shouldn't enact revenge, they should carry out the law dispassionately and use the force required to apprehend the suspect and nothing else.

Cops just acting vindictively and beating up whomever assaults them will just end up lose the trust of the citizens they're tasked to protect.
