Red Letter Media's Game Station 2.0

Half in the bag started out kinda bleh but now I like it just as much, maybe even more then the plinket reviews.

On twitter they said they were going to do something with ME3, I hope rich gets mike and jay to watch him play it so they can critique the story.

They need to stop branching out and keep making more plinkett. Normally, I encourage people with talent to try new things, but half in the bag has always been really "meh" to me.

Kinda like when Egoraptor does live-action stuff.

As a fan of Plinkett and Half in the Bag, i gotta say it was a rather worthless attempt.

It doesn't go in depth, it doesn't have (good) humor, it doesn't have that natural, casual feeling of the HitB chatting, and had too much of those sketches, that felt more out of place than the ones in HitB or Plinkett reviews.
I guess the very soul of Red Letter Media (as far as reviews go, at least) is Mike, and since he doesn't seem big on videogames, i don't see this getting much better.
But i'll give it another shot next time, for sure.
Also, choosing a good game to start with (Arkham City) was not the best idea; it's always more fun to listen someone rip something a new asshole, than hear him praise an average or good experience.. ESPECIALLY if they don't go too much in depth with it.

I think this is supposed to be a parody of major website video game reviews in general, but I'm not really feeling it. The generic redhead gamer girl spouting trivia before the review that gets repeated in the review was a nice touch. The problem is the review itself isn't interesting enough. When you have to review a game everyone else has done ages ago, it has to do something everyone else hasn't done. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand, weird lab setting ain't really that.

SF Debris' Mass Effect 2 plot review is interesting because even though the game is old as heck, it looks at it from a different perspective than what most reviewers would.

I thought about the parody thing too, but ultimately i think it's a stretch, when half the video is about "seriously" describing the game.
The satire in Half in the Bag (or other RLM production) is always more clear and obvious.. i mean i always understand when they're parodying something (ending in the Jack & Jill review, comes to mind).
There might be an element of it, especially in the awful opening titles, but it's not exaggerated enough, imo, to see it all as a parody.

Well that sucked. Par for the course when it comes to non-Plinkett stuff I suppose. Everyday it seems like the only thing RLM has going for it are the Star Wars and recent Star Trek reviews.

Half in the Bag is awesome.

This... not so much.

Let's face it, this guy came around at a time to dissect the hell and shit on the Star wars prequels to hell and back that absolutely no refuting is possible... and he will forever be remembered for that shtick.

Yes, but while Half in the Bag is good (and fun) this is just plain boring and not interesting at all.
Also, he's going to be remembered for his SW reviews, but his other reviews are good, too (thinking about the Avatar one).

That was awful. I guess I expected a lot better from RLM. Half in the Bag and Plinkett's reviews are always great. Is there a chance it was just a poorly executed parody?

This sentence is like a puzzle, what secrets does it conceal?

Not what I expected when they teased about doing something with Mass Effect 3. Maybe it's just a test run to figure out the best why to rip apart Bioware's masterpiece.
