Swords and Sworcery was one of my top games from last year and has a fantastic soundtrack.

And speaking of adventure games, I see that Midnight Mysteries 4 is on Steam. I've played the first two and they're a casual mix of hidden object and average point-and-click. First is more hidden object where is the second is more point-and-click. Too bad the third isn't on Steam.

Oh man.. Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery heading to Steam? Good god. At the end of the day I'll have it on the iPad, iPhone, and PC. I am nothing but a consumer whore :(

Haha, I'm right there with you. I've also bought the soundtrack as a digital download, on vinyl, and soon through Steam. :p

Is that the game that...*googles*

Yay, it is! I kept seeing the picture, and I look forward to being able to play it. :D

I bought this on iPhone and never played more than 2 minutes. The form just didn't clicked. Will try again on Steam

Wait...so people crying over the fact that a game is on Origin is still a thing? Seriously, people need to get over it and move on at some point...

You need to get over people in a STEAM thread being vocal about their desire to have all of their titles on their preferred superior digital distribution hub of choice, and get over people being vocal about the inferior and abrasive EA methods of dealing with their customers. Time to stop crying and move on to a non-Steam thread.

Steam is down pretty often these days. Yet another reason to have some DRM-free games.

We should do drive-by in thread we hate and just post some random comment. You know, just because.
You probably should have taken the time to discover whether or not I have, say, 275 games on Steam before insinuating I have some sort of bias against it.

If you were paying attention, the friends list dropping had zero effect on starting up a game. Oh man this DRM is so harsh.

I don't think that means anything. I have Windows installed on my computer, but I absolutely hate it (and the fact that I have to boot into Windows to play some of my games.)

Oh? I thought "NO CONNECTION" = Offline mode, which often means different save files. Thanks for the tip.

Okaaaay, well I do love Steam, but I have recognized some weaknesses in it and the benefits of not exclusively gaming through it.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, since I have tons of non-Steam games, just saying that your defense isn't really applicable. It's still possible to have a lot of games on Steam and hate it.

If you loved it, it would have just been easier to say so from the beginning...

Although, I have a question: I've never used offline mode in Steam before, but I heard, to play games offline, you basically need to log into Steam, go into offline mode and then restart and then you can play games offline. If you can do that, I don't see why they just don't let you be able to play the game if you have no Internet connection but previously played the games on Steam.

I actually saw the forums were down, and was like, man, I'd better start up a game and make sure it still works. Turns out Shatter actually started. And then darnit, I ended up playing like half an hour.

Curse you Steam for actually working!

This is the ideal way to do it, but I'm pretty sure that if you say, start up your computer with no internet connection, you can launch in offline mode even if you were in online mode previously. Also, if your internet connection goes out while Steam is up, you should be able to continue using it without issues (which you can test by pulling the Ethernet cable).

I think some people DO have problems with it, and there's like one specific sequence where you will get screwed over, and some games can decide they needed to be updated and prevent you from playing them, and there may be some mystery offline mode expiration where you can't do it for more than however many days in a row, but I don't know the details if so. I agree that it has problems and should be better, but it's fairly decent.

Good to know as I am moving this weekend and my internet won't be setup until the 2nd.
If you know in advance and want to play it super safe, launch any games that are super important to you at least once to make sure they're completely up to date, and then go into offline mode before closing Steam and losing internet.

No one buy this game. It's really bad.

Well, it's free to play...

More importantly, no one play it since it's by the guys that brought us the hit game, "Blackwater"

Yeah, except if it's a multiplayer Steamworks game that doesn't use servers, then, ya know, good fucking luck.

lol, only people who have positive opinions about everything X can post in a thread about X.

Just pre-ordered Legend of Grimrock.. decided to go through the developers (sale is done through the HumbleStore), as they get the most money that way and I still get a Steam Key.. yay.. everyone wins! (GOG is an option for the absolutely no DRM crowd) Got the Steam key straight away and it's sitting there all greyed out waiting to be loaded!!

It's $12 until release ($15 then) and buying from the devs gave me a goodie zip with the Manual, Graph Paper (lol), some wallpapers and concept art and some music.. Fine family fun!

Random question.. but why oh why EA - why can't you make the Sims on Steam be Steam Play and include the Mac version!? All the retail discs are for both versions..

I bought the pack back in a sale a while back for my husband and had to have it refunded because I foolishly thought that the Steam version would be both as the retail discs are and he only uses Apple product these days *sigh*..

So it's my first time buying a game that isn't yet released (or rather, an expansion). It's Tropico 4 Modern Times.

It won't appear as purchased after buying it right?
