Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
Holy shit in a chapel Batman, how bout some goddamned Youtube? Or something? Why does my piddly iPhone 3G have Youtube and my Vita doesn't? Why does my PSP have Youtube and my Vita doesn't. Why is the Netflix app so shit? GAAAAH!!

What the hell Sony. It's 2012. Fuck you. What the fuck.

The Blogcast last week hinted at some video service announcement coming. Maybe it's Youtube...lol.

Well 10 minutes is better than what we've got now so honestly it'll probably be worth updating just for that. Lost count of the amount of times mine's gone into sleep mode just because I've looked away from it for a minute, and then I'm constantly scared it won't come out of sleep mode properly afterwards.

Still wish they'd let you set it to 'don't sleep at all' when plugged in though.

Thank the stars for caps lock and notifications "off".

I keep seeing "LiveArea updated" nearly every morning. Makes me wonder what exactly is being updated, the ads for movies and games every time you boot up "Videos" or the "Store"?

Wonder if the notifications will include Trophies or not. If so I may actually reconsider where I get Virtue's Last Reward.

Unlikely. Microsoft bought Skype a while ago afaik.

Skype is on plenty of phones that compete with W7 phones. I don't see a problem with the vita having it

Definitely turning alerts off. The friend sign on bubble is way too fucking big. Also, I hate looking at my Vita in sleep mode on the table and seeing the blue PS button lit up, I never know what the fuck it's on for.

Have they fixed the busted Wifi connectivity yet? I have to tick/untick the Wi-fi setting a couple times to get 5 minutes of internet. Then it boots me off again.

Notifications toggle is great. Playing FIFA those notifications can be rather obstructive of the play.

Sony dicking around with the PS1 support is freaking annoying.

It makes absolutely no sense how the PSP can support it, PS3, PS2, and phones based off of the very same architecture as the PSV can play PS1 games, but PSV can't.

ridic.

you are literally asking why cant Windows run OS X apps, both based on the very same architecture. Except the software is all different.

I really hope there is a fix for that design bug (feature?) with custom backgrounds taking a bit of time to load when you scroll to the next screen. I had hoped there would be continuous scrolling, but it doesn't look like there is. (Unless I missed some setting?)

My best guess is that they want to optimize it for Vita first. I don't doubt they could EASILY just throw in PSP support as if it were a PSP game, but then you probably wouldn't have 480i modes when relevant (actually, I should try that when connected to a TV), or dual analog support or the ability to use the back pad for shoulder buttons/stick buttons like in Remote Play. Optimize it, and it could probably be REALLY nice.

I remember the glorious days of the PS3 updates where they would update a ton and every update had one of those little things you needed so you didn't care how often it was. Background downloading, DNLA etc. Then people would bitch and the updates started to get slower. Don't know if that's the reason or Sony just didn't have the resources to update anymore considering the memory footprint.

Would have liked at least a browser update so we can watch youtube, I love watching videos on this thing. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and just stay in bed watching netflix lol

PS Suite.

Sony are still working on finalising PS Suite. Once completed, PS Suite functionality will be added to Vita and certain Android devices. So far, the only announced PS Suite software is PSone Classics.

I like the new power setting, although I don't understand, why they don't allow an option to completely turn it off. Maybe it'll be game-specific someday, for example when PSO2 comes out.

+1 for turning off notifications, it drove me crazy given that I've added quite a lot of random people for the purpose of Minna no Issho etc.

PS Suite is an SDK, not an emulator. I really don't see how PS1 Classics are tied to a C# development environment. There's PS Certified Android devices that run both PS1 Classics and PS Suite, but I'm pretty sure those are separate things.
