I don't imagine the content for Spartan Ops will be free after the first season. They keep saying it's enough content for months after release, but then what? I just hope there isn't a 2 month lull between seasons with an additional 800-1200 MSP price tag on the second season. If they do it right they'll make you fall in love with it in the first season and have you begging for more in time for round 2.

I guess a season pass would be another way to offer the remaining content for Spartan Ops through H4's lifespan. Otherwise, it just seems like an awful lot of work with no end in sight to be for free (forever, anyways).

Let's look at the fall release schedule now. While Halo 4 is Halo, and thus doesn't have to worry as much about losing sales to other games, you can be sure MS is still trying to position it by itself as much as it can, which is why I believe 9/25/12 is the date.

9/4/12 - Far Cry 3
9/11/12 - Nothing (but would you release a game on 9/11?) Maybe.
9/18/12 - Borderlands 2
9/25/12 - Nothing (Halo 4)
10/2/12 - Resident Evil 6
10/9/12 - Nothing
10/16/12 - Bioshock Infinite
10/23/12 - Medal of Honor
10/30/12 - Assassin's Creed 3


So if not 9/25, then November is a good bet, but that's CoD month. Having halo in September a few months before CoD is usually what MS likes to do.

I think it starts with good skill matching. That will help remove the bad kids getting pummeled for 15 minutes. I think they could shorten the max time of games to help things move along.

Then - good maps that support the game types. With good starting weapon options.

Then - adjust specifics of the objective games at hand. Return ball/flag juggling, make sure the hill in KoTH doesn't obscure vision when you're in it, things like that...

They need to go back to Halo 2 style Objective games, which was the best in the series. Longer contesting times, and longer sudden death times.

I hope they make some good asymetrical maps designed for Objective games.

I hardly see 343i daring a regular season pass.

At minimum it will be COD Elite like. I think it is doable to charge the biggest fans, because we sort of want it. That said, I don't know how much is being put in Waypoint before Halo 4 launch.

Offering a discount is nice, I'll all the maps anyway but it's not market leading, nor forward thinking.

I'll pay the shit out of my wallet for anime/CG episodes and Forerunner Ops (I'm pretty sure Forerunners being playable is something dimmed hardcore and wouldn't get too much bashing from Halo's non hardcore fans)

EDIT : Skyrim Kinect Voice commands?

I'm open to whatever... I played Anniversary Classic with Dax yesterday - figure I can stomach about anything Reach has to offer for small periods of time.

I'd definitely be for streamlining the playlists, compared to Reach anyway, but there are always going to be playlists that will be more populated than others.

Really? There are only 3 images and not the images you used. I thought Waypoint would be much more stricter in this case.

GI paid to get exclusive access to these screens. So long they have not published it on their website, you have to pay to get access to the screens. Except the 2 screenshot and the artwork which are shown in the video. For the rest, you still have to pay for.

Yeah I never know what the protocol is there... if they're on their website available to the public (or in any other free-to-view media from GI), I would assume it's ok. Ghaleon is the guy to ask though.

This is know won't hold up. If GI paid for the exclusive, it's theirs to distribute how they want. Pulling it out of a magazine or e-copy is basically stealing from them as you'd be allowing people who didn't pay to view the content, to view the content. Gaf is not very lenient on these kinds of things. And by not very, I mean not at all.

Better safe than sorry.

Yeah I know.. I was just assuming Der was correct when he said GI had pulished them. I figured he meant they published them on their website for the public to view. I know if they're still locked down to magazines/e-copies that you can't post them anywhere.

The majority of the screens are only available if you buy the magazine or the digital issue. The 2 screenshots and the artwork which were shown are in a grey area like Der Flatulator said. They published them in a public video and people could say the screencaped it.

I left the images that were in the video up (I could have sworn there were more in there). Should I take them down too?

Think about it like this;

If I can go to GI's website (or youtube channel), or some other official GI source and view that content for free (i.e. it's published to the public), you can re-post here. But, if you accessed the content through your paid prescription (be it magazine, e-copy, whatever) and are then bringing the content to post here for those who haven't paid to view it... not good.

To me personally, it isn't worth it either way unless you are 100% positive.

  1. I thought all of them were in that video...
  2. We were told that the images were allowed on Waypoint.

I would really like to use the Cortana one, but are these from the GI digital issue or the youtube video? If its the youtube video Ill go ahead and take it.. or maybe Ill wait until there are more options..hm..
