man, it would be great if apple allowed it to use the volume+ button of the iphone for shooting in max payne.... that would solve its main controlling issue.

What's iOS GAFs opinion on Kids vs. Goblins?
Mine is very poor. Until I can influence enemy targeting I won't be trying it again (sorry to the Dev here - I will be trying your next game though).

Huh, I never really thought to ask for a good loot-based dungeon crawler for iOS. If Sega could get us a damn English version of PSO2 that would be it, but otherwise, I'd love something like Torchlight on my phone or iPad.

Pocket RPG is superb, highly underrated.

I've been out of the iOS loop in 2012. Does this sum up the worthwhile games?

League of Evil 2
Hero Academy
Run Roo Run
Epic Astro Story
Angry Birds Space
Swordigo
Beat Sneak Bandit
Reckless Racing 2
Max Payne

Incoboto if you have an iPad.

It's far from perfect, but if you turn on "Tap to shoot" and use Free-look in Max Payne Mobile, you get something a bit closer to the original control scheme.

Congratulations, you really deserve it!
I'm having a good time playing Infinity Blade 2. It runs great on new ipad. But from the comments i have read i thought it would be much more of a longer adventure before restarting a timeline. I seem to be restarting every 5 minutes.

That's that space game right? The only game I can think of that's similar... is infinite space on ds lol.

Hmm, Galaxy Pirate Adventure - now called Galactic Phantasy - might fit the bill, but it's a little bit of a one-trick pony.

And jeez, more of you should be playing Starbase Orion. What does it take!?

Rebirths get longer, the castle isnt fully open until rebirth 14 IIRC.

First game I really got into and sunk hours into on my old Ipod Touch was Warpgate - I will be getting an iPad 3 soon and I'm wondering if there are more games out there now that are similar.

Also are there any games like Age of Empires or something similar? Some kind of game where you control armies?

I've just released an update for Gunman Clive. It's just some small bugfixes, but it also means I have a new batch of promo codes.

The game is a sidescrolling action game (MegaMan clone) set in the old west with a funky artstyle. It's a universal app and has iCade support.

I disagree, in the context of what he asked for that is. A loot based dungeon crawler allows you to save progress, increase in power and acquire better loot. PRPG is more like a roguelike, you start from fresh every game, nothing carries over.

The closest thing right now on iOS is Dungeon Hunter 2, it improved the on the sequel and isn't the dogshit arena game that DH3 is, it still lacks any kind of charm or soul though. There was a good one called Underworlds way back when, the dev was talking a sequel but has gone silent since then, it's worth a play but is more Diablo 1 than anything.

Infinity Blade Dungeons looks promising, but I have no love for the devs right now, forcing Facebook on the IB2 update for example, I imagine it will be an IAP based game with a paywall in there somewhere.

It's a shame as the genre could be well represented on iOS.

You can influence the enemy aggro. You do this with spells.

How would you prefer the Aggro is dealth with ?I can take another look at our aggro system, maybe I can change it up a bit.

It seems as though that once an enemy appears it has a very distinct target and will only attack that character. It may be from me enjoying Battleheart so much that I liked being able to manipulate the enemies choice of target to my tank, allowing the support/healer characters to do their job.

I did see similar comments on Touch Arcade, but it may simply be my expectation of how I would like the game to play which is the issue.

How have your sales been? (if you dont mind my asking)

Much much better than Helium Boy but I'm still not very rich

It's sold a bit over 5000 copies (across both platforms) in one and a half week, which is pretty nice, but I have no idea how long it can uphold this pace and where it will stabilize. It's just left the New&Noteworthy list on iOS so I'm not sure what will happen now.

We made a choice not to go with the standard aggro system. You can change aggro with specific spells. This makes the game more predictable for casual gamers who don't know all the ins and outs of a diablo/wow type of game. However advanced users can use spells to change the aggro to mess with the enemies. :)

I hope you give it another go. Try using the stealth, dinner table, aggro etc spells.

I want to thank you again for the Gunman Clive promo code. Been playing it for the past 20 minutes and I think it's pretty great so far. Very impressed with the controls in this game; not just with the virtual d-pad and buttons also with the way the character moves. There's a controllable fluidity to the character that makes it enjoyable just moving him around.

maybe he'll earn more money licensing the controls to other iOS developers?

Did you move the dpad yet? I would happily play it again if the dpad was in the middle of the screen (and stayed there!).

I agree with this though, the fluidity and precision of movement in general are fantastic. The game is a joy to play. I just wish I didn't have to twist my wrist awkwardly to play it on my iPad!

I didn't really have a problem with the aggro when I played it, although I do think the game becomes a little broken when you have the team heal ability unlocked. With that, it doesn't really matter who has the aggro, since everyone gets healed. I find you can easily chain it and not really come close to dying.

I did really like the challenge levels where you had limited character or spell selection though, it made it much more challenging overall without being impossible.

And as I've said before, I think the game could be much more fun to play if the feedback was increased showing the outcome of your actions. Sound and visual cues when you select an enemy to attack (so it 'feels' more like you're doing something), something to alert you when a character is dangerously low on health. The way the characters interact (or rather, don't) makes the combat feel insubstantial, and the lack of feedback sometimes makes it feel like you're not having an effect on the battle in the way you'd like.

Still, I did enjoy the game. And I paid full price! :p

Is there iPad retina support?

I gotta say - I really enjoyed Gunman Clive. I hated it at first, but as soon as I realized there was a control option to freeze the d-pad, it all clicked and I started having a lot of fun. I really didn't expect the gameplay to turn like it did either, which was refreshing.

I hope it does well for you, Beril. And I hope you can take that engine and do some more cool stuff with it.

Max Payne 5$? You seem to be hating this game more than it deserved... I'm currently at the end of the first main chapter and it's not bad at all. Sure the controls are not ideal, but with the sensitivity up and tap controls it is very playable. Great game for 3 dollars.

Mass effect is on my must-buy list. Epoch showed me that this type of gameplay is great on the iPad. So many great games on this platform that I have a massive backlog already...

This was a great week! Crow is a great and original experience. DevilDark is good fun, but I do hope that they fix the interface for the new iPad. Burnout seems like another game that goes on my must-buy list for slower weeks.

Haha, ooops. My mistake. :p

Don't get me wrong, I don't regret getting Max Payne. I'm on Part II already and will finish the game. It's just that some things about it are irking me. People have to understand that having problems with a game and expressing these problems (because I also have problems with the game itself, not just the port) does not mean hating.

How are people finding Asencion on the iPhone? I struggled with shadow era due to the size of the cards / screen but was hoping this would be an improvement...

I still find myself squinting.

I stopped playing on the iPhone, but I have an iPad now so I will try again. The screen size was hindering if that is the only way you're playing imo.

I came from playing the physical card game, so I only really needed to see the picture or read the title to know what any card in the base set did. Otherwise...double tap 'em to zoom in, and do it a lot.

Amazing game, one of the best metroidvanias out there. However I don't care for the controls on iPad version(they do work though).

I wish they did controls like mage gauntlet, anywhere you place your finger on the screen will serve as an invisible virtual dpad, I think that would work better than what it currently has.

Urgh... why doesn't Ubisoft port Clash of Heroes to iPad? Loved it on XBL but never finished it because I have too many games. Would be a perfect fit.

Pocket RPG is actually pretty good, though some of the design elements (all your stats and loot are reset at the beginning of each quest) might not please everyone.
