Mass Effect 3 Spoiler Thread |OT2| Taste the Rainbow

And a lot of fuel.

No one ever addresses the question of fuel. Even despite how the Reapers actually make sure that destroying fuel was their first priority, space travel will just be fine without it/they will just find more fuel/they will just use Reaper parts (in the destroy ending, at least)! Somehow.

You're forgetting the fact that after either ending they'll have access to Space Magic™.

Saw this on another site and could not stop laughing:

In Synthesis you alter the structure of galactic DNA.
In Destroy you remove all synthetic life.

So from left to right, the options are
Control-Alt-Delete

You forgot the control one, or was that one obvious?
There's no witty remark to be made there. "In control, you control."

Suddenly, this seems a lot more fitting:

Relaying ME2, renegade run which I've never done before. Anyways, got to Omega, and forgot how awesome the design for it was. So Blade Runner. I don't think anything in ME3 is as impressive.

Oh woa.

So what you are saying is, if we do all three at once -- we can close the catalyst? :O

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.

The backgrounds in ME3 seems to have all the cool stuff. i wanted to go into an asari highriser.

Wow, seriously? Hackett says the cruicble is ready even with a low ems? Hahaha wtf Bioware.
Hackett = Reggie Fils-Aime, confirmed.

I was honestly a little disappointed with the video. As much time as he spent breaking down the categories he would use, it really was pretty pointless. He could have just done without that dressing of the format and just done the video normally. Maybe I'm just too eager to see the final video, but yeah. Glad to see him address the TIM stuff, since I was left completely confused by it when I was playing.

That video doesn't really show much of anything, but I guess if you're even going to try to analyze the plot, you'll find constant disappointment in the stupidity.

Holy shit that analysis makes me angry. The more you think about the plot, the worse it is.
Smudboy uploaded the third part of his ME3 videos. About to watch it now-

Mass Effect 3: Bookends of Destruction part 3

edit: You can skip to around 4:30, as he is just explaining the various subcategories he will use when approaching and breaking down various parts of the game in his analysis.

From YT comments:
Kia lang is one of the dumbest bosses I’ve ever seen wtf uses a samari sword 200+ years in the future?

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
No, I don't. But I can tell you one thing. I like this is Catalyst-level conversation we're having.

Which is why you shouldn't think of it.

I just don't want someone to go back to ME and make it irrelevant because of the shit in two and three. :(

You might be able, with smart writing and lore clarification, reason with 2. You cannot do this with 3. You cant.

smudboy has a ME1 analysis as well. Don't know if it's good.

Yeah, come back tomorrow.

it changes every day?

well, whatever. The only bad thing was that there was no choice at the end. That's bad. But I liked the ending. I won't not bother with explaining because I'll be flamed. I see why people hate it though and I think they could resolve it in another way.

The game itself wasn't that good. Even with all their flaws previous ME games felt complete. This game is propped by its high points only.

also combat was damn good.

Which ending did you choose, subversus?
What was your initial reaction to the the elevator/star child? I know you don't want to explain much in fear of flaming, but just generally, what was your reaction to that sudden introduction?

Great. Another person that claims to like it but won't tell us why.

I find it funny how Smudboy is criticising TIM's dialogue and scenes, while I'm standing there thinking "Well Mac Walters wrote TIM, so..."

ME3: the gift that keeps on giving. The more you think about it in detail, the worse it gets.

I chose the one that lied STRAIGHT AHEAD, lol. I guess that a "synthesis" ending. Normandy has crashed and everybody had michroschemes in their skin.

My first reaction to the kid was "WTF, kid, you are supposed to be sitting in the ventilation shaft".

I finally finished Mass Effect 3. My gut reaction was "that wasn't as bad as people said it would be."

And then I started thinking about it. And parsing together what happened. And came to the conclusion that everybody else seems to have: that the ending makes no fucking sense.

I read the stuff linked to in the OP; have any new good articles or YT vids or any other form of breakdown of the ending come out since then?

Also, the final message about buying DLC is the biggest "fuck you" to gamers I've ever seen.

ultimately the ending is dissapointing because there are 0 reasons why they decided to end it this way. Instead of trying to rise above the lore (a correction - the lore which is known to people) they should have worked in its bounds and it would be much easier and definitely more satisfying for the majority of people.

From BSN:

-This recruits, is a 20 kilo PR speak. Feel the weight! Every five seconds the main gun of an Electronic Arts-class dreadnought accelerates it 1 to 1.3 percent of light speed.
-It impacts with the force of a 38 kiloton DLC. That is three times the yield of the ending of Fallout 3 dropped by Bethesda, back on Earth. That means, Sir Patrick Weekes is the deadliest SOB in Space!
-Now serviceman Hudson, what is Weekes first law?
-Sir, an honest statement calms the fanbase, sir!
-No credit for partial answers, maggot!
Sir, unless acted on by corporate speak sir!
Damn straight! I dare to assume you ignorant jackasses know that the internet is empty! Once you fire this corporate BS,it keeps going till it hits something! It could be twitter, or the BSN fans behind that twitter. It may go off in the deep internet and hit EA's stock values by 10.000 points.
If you pull the trigger on this, you are ruining somebodys playthrough! somewhere, sometime!
That is why we peer-review the endings. That is why we wait for the team writers to give us a damn ending solution!
That is why, serviceman Walters, we do not "eyeball" the endings! You are not Isaac Asimov shooting from the hip!
-Sir yes sir!

You forgot to post the image of the codex entry that says that "beings of light" can summon space magic with the power to retcon any established franchise lore and/or promised numbers of endings.
