Trials Evolution |OT| ROCK'N'ROLL TRIALS STYLE BABY

The first two bikes are trash. The physics might be slightly different but once you unlock the next two bikes it feels like good ol' Trials to me. But maybe I'm less sensitive to it. I did play the shit out of the first game though.

the 450cc and the 250cc evo both feel like the bikes from the first game to me

I really like Elevation. The camera panning is really well done, and when you get flung up near the middle you can actually shortcut through and break wood to shave a good chunk of time off.

Heh I havent even been focusing on scores... ;)

Also just a reminder, I have created my first map called Bumpy Tunnel. It's a mix between a speedtrack with a few nice jumps and a bit of a climbing section. Pretty fun if I do say so myself! Feel free to download it from Track Central ^_^.

Sweet track. One of the best community tracks I've played yet.

I love the skill game that revolve around basic trials gameplay, but with a twist. Like limit amount of gas, permanent throttle or the inability to lean. I keep playing the Gas Problems one and I'm at #6 currently.

Anyone else sometimes get into a multiplayer match and the track vote shows two maps that say "undefined(1)" and then after voting you get booted with an error message that says "Failed to start game. Game settings corrupt"?

:(

I have not even looked at those. They sound awesome.

I've noticed this as well (played the shit out of Trials HD and have all the DLC) but I've just played a bit and have yet to unlock the decent bikes, so maybe that's why.
It's definitelt different imo, but maybe they've just upped how much of an influence each bike's weight has?

It's just those first two bikes being crap. Once you get the bike you'll be using on hard and extreme it's the same as HD.

It felt so weird playing an FPS on Trials Evolution. I guess Evolution is the Xbox 360 equivalent of Little Big Planet 2, mostly because of all the crazy stuff people will make/have made with these editor tools.

Did anyone else find that Sewage Plant level exceptionally irritating? I swear it took me 30 minutes to gold that level; I just couldn't consistently hit the water features properly.

But when I did finally gold it, I beat everybody else on my friends list while doing it - so that's nice. :)

You seriously haven't even played any skill games? Dude!!!

I only played the saucer one for the achievement. I'll have to check those out, but the Platinum medals; they are calling me!

Those water jets are hell for consistency.

The #1 video for that was mindblowing...

I hated that level. I couldn't figure out how the water features worked, but I did find using the Scorpion easier than the Phoenix. The Scorpion seemed easier to control on the last few water blasts.

That one pissed me off to no end last night. I stuck with it though and got 114th place though. I think I'm in the 400's now though.

Fuck I need to play this

Newbie rant: There I was crusing along getting golds (note I never played the first one) and then.you ask me to flip BACKWARDS onto a platform? Asshole!

Also supercross mp is dope unless you are one of the two in the middle!

Love this game!

Just got done playing this with my father for about 2 hours. It was really cool to see him go from really struggling with the controls to getting a pretty good hang of it within that time span. We had a blast, played through all of the stock multiplayer tracks and tried out some of the user-created ones. Even the ones that were really bad we were able to laugh at and have a good time. Just seems like a really well designed game all-around.

Man, I kinda suck. Medium tracks are straight fucking me up. I can get silver medals fine, but that's just not good enough!

I have almost as much time played up to A license as one of the guys on my friends list who just finished all the extreme tracks today lol

Man, multiplayer is really awesome. But goddam do they need to fix the hard freezes. Through about 2 hours of MP with Daigoro I had to power cycle my Xbox about 4 or 5 times. That's no fun :(

Thats what happened to me when I left. Good games though.

Yeah, that was weird. I don't think my Xbox froze that particular time, but it did kick me back to the main menu saying that the party leader left. But Daigoro said he and Boom loaded in no problem. So weird. Hopefully they iron the kinks out and get a patch out in a short amount of time.

http://www.edge-online.com/news/100000-players-cripple-trials-servers

Yesterday's launch of Trials Evolution proved too much for Microsoft's servers as 100,000 players posted times on the game's leaderboards.

Players of RedLynx's long-awaited follow-up to Trials HD were met with long loading screens as the XBLA game attempted to bring up times for each track, and then repeated failure notices. Ghost replays were also absent. As a result, Microsoft has quickly had to increase available server space.

"The stress on the leaderboard servers became extremely severe late last evening," RedLynx told us in a statement.

"For a while, the leaderboards were in read-only mode, then couldn't be read at all. Microsoft worked quickly to deploy more hardware and the situation seems to have stabilised.

Microsoft is now preparing for any more surges in activity that might occur over the next couple of days as more players join the fray, so hopefully no more faultless gold runs will go to waste.

"We apologise for the inconvenience," RedLynx's statement continues, "and obviously we're working closely with Microsoft's backend team to improve the situation and prevent this sort of thing from happening again."

Trials must be the most popular XBLA release in quite some time. Fez did what, 15,000 sales in the first few days?

Dumb question but how do I search when I can't put in the name of the track? Is your username your GAF name?

Yikes. I just played someone's track that ran at 10fps and had screen tearing non stop. Ease up on the smoke!! lol

You have to search by gamertag, and you have to type the whole tag, and it's case sensitive. His is MMaRsu NL

If people do make or recommend tracks, please mention gamertags too!

Whitehawk keeps saying 'just play it' and he's right. You kind of absorb the feeling of the bike through repeated play. I was completely stuck on some medium tracks, nut then skipped forward to the next license where they show you examples of bunny hops and leaning, nthen went back and got golds (450cc bike helped too..)

So just keep playing. I'm sure I'll hit a wall pretty soon and settle for silver, but not just yet

I titted around yesterday in the track editor as I've been loving the Private GAF races and wanted more Super cross tracks.

I made the simplest ever drag race as a early test.

In doing so found these awesome tutorials to watch:

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL38DB3EFF27B438AA&feature=plcp

Not to be that guy but all the tutorial vids are linked in the OP ;)

That said, I should probably actually watch them. I loaded the editor up and floated around a bit but it all looked kind of daunting to put something together without having an idea for a track in mind first.

Also, is there a way to search just for tracks made by your friends without having to search one gamer tag at a time?

Yeah, you're right. The medium sewer one (where the gusts of water push you into the air) was really messing me up. But I finally got the gold on it after what felt like 45 minutes of restarts.

I finished the last stretch and last few jumps on just my back wheel. Lmfao. Was basically holding on for dear life trying not to crash. Thrilling shit to be honest.

That's an actual Trials move you need to master if you intend to finish the game! It's the solution to many of the "how in the fuck?" type obstacles on Extreme.
