I have been watching/mostly listening to Jeff and Vinny's Persona Endurance Run for the first time. At the beginning they were mostly ear noise while I was working but then Chie and her love of steaks and food turned me around. Then the whole story and relationships in a freaking Japanese High School became the hook. Man, I would have never played the game or even watched the endurance run if I wasn't working towards Alpha at my work. I only have 25 more to go I think.

Also, I don't know what would be a good candidate for another Jeff/Vinny ER. I would say Yakuza 3 but some of the most interesting ER was during the turn based combat.

Yup, years ago when Jeff and crew worked at GameSpot, I would signup for Total Access for a month during E3. GameSpot tends to have pretty solid coverage during the event.

Edit: Just gave it a fake US address and it went through fine.

I used to be a Total Access member and you got exclusive chatrooms for the live shows and HD video downloads etc. It was very similar to what Giant Bomb offers now actually since the old GB crew was part of it. I'm not really sure what Gamespot TA offers now since I had canceled my TA sub for a few years.

Something that has always bothered me: Videos on the front page are listed as premium, but in the videos bar, they are listed as subscriber. It isn't consistent.

We've been talking lately about ways to better prepare for the beginning of the week. Right now, on a "normal" week, we'd get two Quick Looks and a podcast recorded on Monday, with all of that posting Tuesday. Doesn't really leave much that actually runs on Monday.

But then there's the urge to be timely, so the idea of recording stuff on Friday and sitting on it until Monday doesn't sound all that hot, either. Anyway, we're aware of it and thinking about ways to address it as we rebuild our mighty empire.

I still can't seem to redeem my Gamespot code. I tried entering bullshit US adresses, but no dice. It just kicks me back to the screen where I just entered my info.

Any idea on how to solve this?

Last couple have been shit though, the mini-studio see-through are embarrassing.

Award silence, then the presenter says.

"We have have a user question for you from, Toms Healthy Boner, he askes 'Does your FPS game have grenades in it?' "

"Yes."

"Great... I'll look for more questions."

...or maybe I'll hold onto it a while longer. Not sure what it's like these days but I know they did use to prioritize subscribers for that stuff.

Having a decent E3 stream makes it worthwhile to me. YouTube's stream has been excellent the last few years but I'll give the old Gspot a tickle this year.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of his reviews but the guy is a good host. Podcast Beyond is worth listening to for him and Ryan Clements, even if Colin Moriarty is often super irritating to listen to. IGN's knocking boots podcast is also hilarious and usually results in Greg Miller going on drunken rants.

Anyway, I can't wait till they fix the outside-US bug with the Gamespot stuff, will be neat to finally download some of those PSP formatted guides!

I wonder if Greg Miller has grown/matured as a host. I got sick of him on beyond and game scope but that was years ago now, back when Jeff and Chris were still there

Probably should give beyond another shot, I still miss Ryan. The man loved folklore... even when everyone made fun of him for it he stuck to his guns. Folklore! Best taste at IGN confirmed

Ryan should go to giantbomb...

Yeah, same here. I cracked up a little when Miller completely preempted the incoming "all the old people have to die" rant that was about to come out of Jeff's mouth.
