Still didn't finish Xenoblade...
the shiggy transition at the end makes it, lol.Nothing gives me chills more than the reveal of Twilight Princess just as people started to leave. That's gaming magic right there.

Fucking chills.
if monolith's game doesn't come out for "a few years" then they are terrible at life considering that will be a ton of development time.major JRPG for WiiU is still a few years away right?

lol the "at life" part is called a hyperbole, the rest is 100% fact though, would be pretty terrible. Would it help if I said "terrible at their jobs".Really unnecessary to say that in my opinion, but whatever.

cool with me yo.Don't worry, he's always overreacting
This years E3 will prove once and for all whether or not Nintendo lives on the same planet as everyone else. I think for the most part everyone knows what they need to do, what should/probably/needs to be shown, and so on and so forth.
The game plan seems clear, I wonder how the execution is going....1 month left I guess.
Over (after), Under (before), or Push (on)
Wii U ST IV ends May 3rd.
This isn't some forum based expectation though. Iwata clearly outlined what he sets out to do, and that is recapture the core market. That's where I got it from.If by "the same planet as everybody else" you mean "the type of gamers that frequent neogaf" then sure.
- Secondly, we have Retro Studios' title. The popular candidates are either Metroid, Starfox or Zelda. Nobody can deny that they'd love to see the atmospheric landscapes of Metroid Prime accentuated by a really powerful system, however the same is true for Zelda. We could get a Zelda which is fully tailored for the hardcore, one that follows the likes of Majora's Mask and breaks barriers to again become the cutting edge IP that Zelda once was. Finally, Starfox. Starfox has always been impressive with its well crafted set pieces, its fast paced action and its voice acting. What better IP to debut a new generation of technology than this one? Where we finally get to see stunning Star Wars esque battles in next gen form.
And seems to become like there favourite mascot or something
nothing really of interest yet except for a photo-shoot of Rikki doing possibly every activity on earth.
I'm ignoring the abberation from (A) Day One, which started very late in the evening, and (B) today, which isn't done yet, the thread has maintained a shockingly consistent forward-going average rate of 965 posts per day.
Based on this math, and the knowledge that yesterday ended at 14685 posts, we can look at it this way:
A) 14685+965+965+965+965+965 = 19510
B) 14685+965+965+965+965+965+965 = 20475
The 20k mark should be reached some time between five and six days after the end of yesterday. That's between the end of May 2nd and the end of May 3rd. So I'd say "Push", assuming that by "end of" means "reaching that particular mark".
Notes:
A) This is assuming UTC. Obviously, the answer could be "over" or "under" (or even "around" and "through"!) if you're in a different time zone.
B) I've had a lot of coffee today
C)Thread the Third hasn't actually been closed yet, but please don't bump it right now, as the current ending post is pretty grand
When you get hired make sure to give us all the details on their games. Or steal their dev unit.
This could so totally be one of Nintendo's best launch periods ever.
- If Pikmin 3 reaches it's full potential, it'll be absolutely magnificent. The extra generation and a half of processing power will allow for massive swarms of Pikmin to be commanded by Olimar. The environments were built to be stunning, seeing the landscapes run in 1080p and 60 FPS would be absolutely magnificent. Everything about Pikmin 3 is meant for the Wii U, whether it's the graphics, the controls or the processing. It's all going to fit perfectly.

- Penultimately, Monolith. Monolith are new to Nintendo fans' hearts, however the impact they've made has been stronger than many. Their games have always been grand and ambitious, maybe we'll get a new IP from them like Xenoblade and Disaster? Or maybe we'll get a sequel to one of those? Either way, the epic landscapes will be brought to life and the title will truly be one that's very impressive.
- Lastly, Eternal Darkness 2. If the rumours are true than Nintendo fans should be very excited. Unlike the other examples where the main excitement for driving a franchise forward has laid with sound or visuals. Eternal Darkness 2 could do something very very different. If the rumours of the return of the vitality sensor are true, than this could be a perfect fit for making technology that fans are sceptical about, be welcomed with open arms. Imagine a title where insanity effects become more and more intense as your heart rate is raised. This could provide an unparalleled horror experience. What is more important is that for it to work, the game would absolutely have to be scary. And so because of this, we may get one of the most expertly crafted horror titles ever made.
Combine this with third party support in the form of Ass Creed Tri, and Nintendo being open to online experiences such as F2P. Then the Wii U could be absolutely phenomenal.
Wasn't Pikmin 3 in development for the Wii? I'm pretty worried about seeing an upscaled Wii game on that front. Maybe a little better. Hope to be wrong. This could so totally be one of Nintendo's best launch periods ever.

I actually missed the Rayman stuff. WOW, that looks so good.Nintendo will be providing digital downloads of retail games from day one on the Wii U (and starting in August on the 3DS).
Nintendo will allow you to buy digital games at retailers or on the eShop.
Leaked footage of Rayman Legends for the Wii U.
Controller could be able to go beyond one room (but not by a whole lot).
You forgot about Mario
You forgot about Mario

Finally focused and finished reading EC. Good info summary.
Played some galaxy last night. Koizumi is a wizard.
Meh, if it was Super Mario World 3 or Super Mario Galaxy 3, I'd be stoked. Instead it's Super Mario Bros 4, which means instead of
or
we're going to get
(Unless it means it's a remake of SMW, which was SMB4 in Japan. In which case, HYPE).
@Pyromaniac - They've had over a year to beef it up, that is ample time. it should look great

I'm sure they will continue to attempt to keep the casual market in their bag but capturing the core market is a whole other ball game. Lots of things need to happen, and they're all things Nintendo simply hasn't done at the level that they need to be done at to succeed in that area. That's definitely one of the things they're planning. I get the distinct impression they're also planning on doing their best to keep the casual audience they already have. They're also spoiling for a chunk of the tablet/apps market.
I think they're in good shape to pull off all of the above provided the execution and 3rd party support is there. IF they get it right, this thing has the potential to be HUGE.
Yeah, that is my only concern about Pikmen 3.
You act like I'm lurking aroudn 24/7. That's Tom, I'm only here 23/7.
Hmm, 3 days. Wow, that's like forty pages of stuff (20 if 100ppp)! And it looks like we managed to keep a healthy one (or two) items of note per page!
edit: Hrm, that's too wall-ish. I think in the future I'll refrain from going back so far, or I'll try to chop out the chaff.
Yeah, that is my only concern about Pikmen 3.
Like I said maaain, just over a year and a half to touch up the graphics? I think that's plenty of time.
Do people still think Pikmin 3 will be a launch title?

Hopefully, I don't think Nintendo will botcher a sequel that has been anticipated for 10 years.
And Monster Game's Excite Trains. ***** SUPER MULTITRACK DRIFTING!!! *****
