You guys are like a living transcript of all the Triforce nonsense. I wouldn't watch the stream(sleepy time), but I have to admit that I do get quite a few laughs out of this craziness lol.

I can't believe there have been only a handful of posts on Ultrachen compared to three+ pages of EMP, Floe and Triforce.

edit: Alright, real question. Triforce keeps going on and on about all the stuff EMP does outside of the FGC? Does anyone know what he's talking about? All I'm hearing are empty promises. Reading the EMP website is amounting to just generic mission statements?

don't take it seriously because he's delusional. i think something is pretty wrong with him. Whether it's a disorder or he's just too damn arrogant or slow, it's to the point where I can't really find it that funny. I'm not sure why people even engage him...I guess he sort of resurfaced this year and people are finishing up old history with him? I don't know.

And no, he doesn't actually do anything, he uses double speak and vague declarations to make EMP sound way more important than it is. I think it's really one of those "spiritual" sponsors like DMG, that doesn't really have money but is a supportive group of players. Which is totally okay, until you start talking like you're running a business with a high rise on 5th avenue and talk about "the fighting game division" and talking about making business deals and "in talks with sponsors" and taking shots at all the established FGC groups and all this crap. If he'd just be humble and say "we used to be great, but it's not that big anymore, we gotta build it up again" then everything would be okay.

unfortunately, he's totally stuck in the glory days, which is the saddest thing ever.

Good to see Shadowloo HQ is actually testing their streams before Showdown.

They're gonna have to do something about that audio, though. Hopefully get some real audio equipment before Friday.

not retiring, just chilling out. He said in the chat it was a ton of work, the travel was tiring, he wasn't having fun at tourneys anymore because he was behind a PC the whole time. Sounds like no more regional major type stuff, but still doing Big 2 and the like.

on the whole triforce thing...whether or not he brought it on himself (which he did), having any conversation wind up you having to defend yourself for 10 years straight can definitely get to anyone. i can understand the pent-up anger. and like it was said outside of his tendency to not keep his mouth shut he does seem like a genuine guy. he just has grand aspirations with no real gameplan.

And as Kadey says: Spooky is the hardest working man in the FGC.

I wasn't asking anybody to listen to the whole thing. If you just skipped to the 33rd minute, they spent about 1 minute talking about Triforce. Basically they got in touch with him and he said he would bring Justin down along with a bunch of other EMP guys for one of there big tournaments. Triforce even talked about flying them in in a private jet lol. Of course it didn't happen. But they did get Justin to come the year after, except that they spoke to him directly that time.

People in threads and streams throw the term around like candy assuming everybody understands it. My lack of understanding never precluded me from playing or watching fighting games for fun so I never took the time to look it up.

Man, I'm getting really hyped for Evo. Evo last year was when I started playing fighting games. I bought AE the day after, on Steam, and got blown out of the water by my friends. I've learned a lot since then, but still suck in general :( I can't get my PP above 2k online, I've only ever been close once or twice.

Still got a lot to learn. Watching people play at a high level is still really inspiring and eye-opening to the mind games, the technical precision, the instincts, etc. There's so much depth to fighting games that I never imagined.
