I know we know the main supporting trio is returning along with Ferrell, but I wonder who else will come along. Would love to see Applegate do something actually funny again, would like to see Parnell and Hahn play bigger roles, would like to see Rogen's character again.

And Paul F. Tompkins' character needs to become a major player.

I hope it's not as hopelessly unfunny and overrated as the original.

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
Super excited but also super worried it'll be a let down.

Hey, can't be worse than Wake Up Ron Burgundy, that thing was horrible.

Without a doubt no one comes close to the comedy of Will Ferrel over the last 10+ years.

Talladega Nights
Anchorman
StepBrothers
Land of the Lost (I dont give a fuck, THIS MOVIE IS FUNNY!)
The Other Guys
Semi-Pro
Old School
etc..

Even his 1 man show as President Bush was amazing and I'll go as far as to say I enjoyed Strager then Fiction and Elf :)
Even his cameos in movie/TV shows remain classics like Zoolander.

Seriously, who is consistantly as funny as Will?

Stranger Than Fiction is better than everything there but Anchorman, don't be shy. And even then it's only Step Brothers which is funny, everything else is pretty bad.

I don't have mad love for Ferrell but I fucking love Anchorman. I feel like its a lightning in a bottle movie, but should be fun to see the old gang back together

Well, everyone knows Custer died at Little Bighorn. What this book presupposes is... maybe he didn't.

Rule #1: Never Leave a Fellow Crasher Behind.

This is incredible news since Anchorman is my favorite comedy next to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

So what are we thinking for release date here, summer 2013?

I can't help but think that this is Will Ferrell's way of making sure you know... it seem like he still has Hollywood klout

The guy just probably needs a hit movie

How is "wake up Ron Burgandy" I've never seen it.

It's not a real movie. They filmed two different plots for the original Anchorman, and Wake Up uses the scenes that didn't make it into the feature film and cuts them as if they are a sequel. It's not meant to be very coherent, but there is an entirely new plot in there, involving a left wing radical group robbing banks.

But he does still have high standing in hollywood. He's been doing more personal or small projects, like Everything Must Go or Casa de mi Padre or Tim and Eric, but Megamind and The Other Guys and Stepbrothers are not out of the public consciousness. Overall he breaks about even on hits vs. flops, all while having nearly everyone in and out of hollywood like him.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.

I assumed that group was meant to parody the group from Network. I only skimmed through it though. I liked that they had a scene with the producer's son (and he was the Mac guy).

Almost anyone. The only good movies he's been in that I can think of off the top of my head are:

Talladega Nights
Anchorman
Old School
Stranger than fiction

And, Anchorman was the only great one. I hope he doesn't fuck up the sequel.

Which, FWIW, is the original plot. The panda stuff was done months after the movie was in the can.

But practically the whole movie was made up on the spot.
