I have a question.
If I'm playing on Hardcore mode, and I'm using my Tyrael wings from the CE, and I die, do I lose my Tyrael wings?

Blizzard quote :

How often can we use the dyes and wings?
The CE dyes are infinite in their use. Keep them forever, dye as much stuff as you want “Cloud” or “Smoke” colored. The colors are unique to the CE.

The wings are an item you hold in your inventory (don’t take up an equipment slot on your character), and it’s a toggle. Use to turn on, use again to turn off. They’re awesome looking, and stack with other class effects like Shadow Power and Archon.

I see, and are these 1 per account?
It’s 1 per account. If you want to trade to another character you’d just want to put it in your shared stash before logging out. Same with the dyes.

And if you’re a hardcore character you may be wondering what happens if they’re in your now defunct character’s inventory when he expires, so was Vermithrax.
Ah, uh, er… hrm. That’s a good question. We’ll bring that up in our next meeting.

And now that’s in writing it’ll follow him around until it’s answered, so chop chop.

That was in 2011... maybe there is a new answer now...

Q. People keep asking about the wings perk from the Collector’s Edition:
How will your character receive this item?
Will each character have the item, or does it have to be shared across your characters (like heirloom items did in WoW)?
If a unique item, how will transferring the wings work?
Can the wings be accidentally sold or destroyed?
How will these wings work on a HC character when they die -- do you lose them?

Each character you make will receive CE items in their inventory. They cannot be dropped, but can be destroyed if you want the inventory space, for example. If you want them back you can transfer through the shared stash from another character.

They'll take a 30% (15% commodities, 15% paypal) fee in order to turn that gold into money and buy my item?
Just 15%. There is no fee for buying.
Actually, thinking about it, are blizzard bucks (or whatever they're called) acceptable currency on the RMAH? If so, I guess they could sell gold at 15% and convert that to blizzard bucks, then buy my item but...I don't know, I still don't see their strategy to profit from that. They're going to have to convert that to actual money through paypal at some point and incur the 15% fee.
Exactly. And as for the conversion, we're just talking about if they want to buy your item on the RMAH but are on the gold AH themselves. Just pointing out the two economies are the same.

Two weeks man, two weeks.

Think I'll do normal solo to experience the story without people skipping cinematics/rushing everything, then teaming up for the harder difficulties.

I'm going through with a friend of mine through the story on normal (we both took off work). Then I'll probably end up going through on normal with some of my other friends with new characters because they'll have just gotten into it that night. :p

In the meantime I'm attempting desperately to distract myself from it - I'm thinking of going through D2 since the ladder resets one last time today, or digging deep into Warriors Orochi 3.

Yeah I'm going to do the same thing. I'll let friends join my game as long as they aren't going to be skipping anything.

Once I've done my first run through on normal, I doubt I'll ever solo again.

Fuck, I missed on almost every sigil.

...what are they anyways?

No worries, you'll have a chance to get them all once the wizard week is over. That's what the bubble is after the wizard's bubble.

They are unique sigils for your banner that you can only unlock through the launch site.

I hope we get another chance heh

The second 15% is when they convert their gold or whatever to cash, which is the obvious end goal of anyone farming for money. They can't avoid that fee forever.

I guess there is some formula by which they could buy items with the gold in the AH and then sell them for cash in the RMAH (bypassing the second 15%) but the math would be dicey.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Ok, maybe it's me who's dumb but where do I go for that bonus in-game items stuff and how does it work? I'm looking at the official website right now but can't find anything.

Someone posted this on reddit:

Shows the upgrade costs & rewards of the blacksmith. A lot of gold and materials will be needed.

First time I ever remember to do something game related every week and it turns out it wouldn't have matter if I missed. :p Is there anyway to look at the past sigils I created though or do I just wait until the game is released?

I know this is a super nooby question also but I only casually played D2 SP. What is a ladder? All I ever really see when looking it up is stuff about the ladder but not what it is...

In D2, there were two main servers: Non-Ladder and Ladder.

The 'Ladder' would be reset every so often (Referred to as Seasons), where all the previous ladder characters were shift-ed into the Non-Ladder servers, making the game fresh and brand spanking new to everyone playing. No items, leveled characters, nothing.

At the beginning of each 'Ladder' season, there was a race to see who would be the first characters to lvl 99. I don't remember what rewards (if any) were given, but I do recall this being some sort of event.

That's the general gist of it.

The Ladder was originally just an early leaderboard where you could see who was the highest level character in the world and whatnot, so all the level 99 dudes on US East or whatever would be there. Over time they added new runewords/weapons/secret uberbosses that could only be accessed by ladder characters. Resetting the ladder meant if you wanted to access that content you had to start over, which helped keep things interesting, because poking around on the same level 99 character gets boring.

Edit: beaten, aside from the extra runewords and whatnot.

Your character and all your items are moved and converted to join the "Normal" servers after a ladder reset.
They would diminish in value.

Just realized I won't be able to cash out to Paypal with the RMAH since my phone doesn't work with the Blizzard Mobile Alerts service. Kind of a bummer. It does give me more incentive to play only HC.

How many of you plan to do hardcore mode right out the gate?

I was planning to, however I'm having second thoughts since most "random" HC players will do a test-run on SC first, and only organized clans are going HC seriously.

I feel like I will be wasting my time and smashing my head against the wall since I have no clan backing me up with levels and items
