I'd love to but can't have access to the US version if you live in Asian area. Before the game was released they said we could in EU though, wondering if it's still the case.

Most of GAF is on the pve server. I personally prefer pvp for the danger and rush of a random battle though. Got ganked by a slayer and a sorc at the same time yesterday and took them out with over 50% hp left. Felt good.

It seems in similar level PVP the beserker dominates. Tonight I managed to one shot 2 people in one blow, and another guy in one blow who was part of the guild that was at war with us.

They are pretty slow though, and no snares. Maybe the leaping strike at level 24 will be useful.

EDIT: Oh, it looks like I got booted as well. They said that they had fixed this issue in the forums but I guess not.

EDIT2: Fixed apparently.

Oh, I thought Japan could play on US servers. Yeah, you can probably still play in EU.

We had a guild run on CR tonight, shame Prince had to miss it
We did very well, went very smoothly! 3 gold drops too

Tomorrow we'll be going to Tria and moving the story on, and I'll probably hit 43

That’s less true in the case of Guild Wars, which is to say it isn’t true at all; they’ve pulled up class roles, death, questing, weapons, and skills by the roots and fed them through a chipper shredder. They have a thinly veiled hatred for the status quo, which I respect in absolute terms. You get hooked on the writing and story production of a Bioware Game, and The Old Republic was no exception; both of these games have serious things to say about Player Vs. Player also. But the way you interact with these new ideas is the same way you have been interacting with the old ideas, which is by clicking on a whole lot of little boxes. This can have the effect of blunting their successes.

Tera, whose launch I’m substantially enjoying, is fun to actually play. It’s not “fun” insofar as is it is satisfying, or addictive, or any of the other stand-ins for immediacy and player engagement. But it’s dangerous to make all the bets at once, and while being fun can take some of the sting out off scraping off Kyrongi pelts, Tera has the point to point quest chain deathmarch stuff to keep players moving through the world.

I can’t tell you about its endgame or whatever, I don’t have any idea what it is. I don’t know if I’ll be playing it in a year. I’ll tell you what Tera does do: it makes you ask hard questions of every other Massively Multiplayer experience. You miss these things when you don’t find them somewhere else.

After not being able to get a BoL group for my warrior and leveling up my archer to the point where I'm starting to get close to BoL I decided that JC sucks and to reroll on VoT. :)

Gonna try an Sorc this time. Named Valessaria. Applied to the guild already.

I wasn't very impressed with the prologue at all, though I recall someone calling it "innovative" and listing it as a reason TERA was better than other MMOs. Don't remember which site I read that but it was pretty ridiculous. I mean having level 20 skills is cool and all but getting them at different levels serves the useful purpose of learning how to use them. I didn't know what buttons to hit in the prologue on either class... luckily it's easy.

How's the priest class in a game like this? Is it fun as the other classes people keep talking about? I am thinking about buying it but I enjoy a healer classic with skills that can also hurt monsters.

They have those? I would love one, too. I am curious about trying it but I don't want to be burnt out on another mmo in a day before trying it first.

Played the beta extensively, had to cancel my PO due to some shady student loan dealings. if anyone has a CE code they'd like to toss away so I can play for a few days before I get my SA, I'd love to get a little start. Can give mine back in return if I can find a physical CE around here.

I really like my priest, and she just destroys monsters. Once you get your aoe skills you can just round up a bunch of mobs and kill them all at once. They all are only melee range which means you have to dodge around a bit, but I think its fun.

The poor peasant will have to buy the game because there are no codes to give. They were for the headstart only and that was last weekend.

Seriously, there are no trials.

Man, level 30 and I am not enjoying Archers at all. The backwards only jump is absolutely dreadful after playing a Warrior.

Why won't you play on the JP servers? :(
1500 yen for 120 hours per month. Pretty barren in the first few zones, though.

What is ####### supposed to represent?

Also, we are filling the ranks currently. We want to ensure that the guild doesn't die down to nothing. Sure, having only GAF folk sounds like a good idea now, but after the free month runs out, we don't want to be left with 7 guildies and no way of expanding.

I imagine if there are immature douchebags in guild we can and will /gkick them. We don't want to encourage ass-hattery as being ok. :)

Banned words get censored like ########. I'm just concerned about random douchebaggery. I'm fine with people inviting their non-gaf friends in, or other people who seem civil enough after spending some time with them in a party or what not, but if it's just random strangers who can't string together a coherent sentence, then it'll get messy real soon.

Yeah, I know censored words get ###. I just wasn't sure if you were trying to represent something, haha.

But yeah, if there are some people in the guild who are literally nothing but problems, whisper one of us officers and we'll take care of it no problem.

Again, while inviting strangers sounds like a bad idea right now, if they are civil and mature folk, it only helps to grow the guild. :) If they don't fit or aren't being kosher, we'll take care of it. The same goes for GAF folk, though...Even though he or she is a member on GAF, if they are just being a complete dick time and time again, they have no space in the guild.

Some questions:

1.) I read some US servers are "full". What does this mean? No new characters? Thus, if I were to start playing I would not be able to join GAFers?

2.) Any server I would be able to ping to check my latency with regard to playing on US servers (from the EU)?

3.) What is the recommended/max ping for this more action-oriented battle system?

Hmm, I have never really got into an MMO before, mostly because of the combat, but TERA seems to have that covered. 2 questions:

1). Is there any way to try out the game before laying down my 50 euros? I know it just launched but maybe there are guest passes or something?
2). I want to play with my 360 controller. Which classes are good/ bad for this control method?
