The ironic thing about this .gif is that the guy actually loves chocolate (the stuff they're selling) and eventually tracks them down to buy all of it from them. Guess every core gamer loves Kinect, too, then. :p

Look man, I enjoy IdeaMan's posts, but I can see why people are getting frustrated with the way he posts. He shouldn't, 2 months ago, say that when he becomes a Member he'll post a thread with information he knows about. He just shouldn't. Now he's saying he needs mod approval to see if the thread is ok? He couldn't have done that as a Junior Member? Cmon now.

I actually knew this when I was making it. I'll leave it up to the viewer to decide if that scene counts, or if it's separate from what the GIF depicts, by-and-large by how much they like Kinect.

Even teases of information that are delayed and later turn out to be (presumably) underwhelming.

Yep. I've found his behaviour to be ridiculous, but harmless. Teasing something for weeks and then announcing "maybe next thread" is where I stop paying attention to him all together. Especially since he's really not revealed anything substantial.

I was wondering if people have speculated in games for the WiiU having single player assymetrical gaming that is using the wii u and nunchuck for parts of the game and the DRC for other parts of the game. It won't be available at all parts of the game but in only various stages of the game where the game basically tells you that you have to use the Wii Remote for one specific section and the DRC just becomes a secondary screen but not the main controller.

He's contemplating on not creating a thread for it after all too. He could have just posted in this thread or the one before it...

And methodman's right. It's not that his posts are bad or anything, it's the teasing after teasing. It's just bullshit. Either say what you're going to say or just stfu about giving us info.

Unless the console comes with a Wiimote, which I think is unlikely, I doubt any game would have a part where you HAVE to use it. Unless the game itself comes with one like Wii Play.

I mean you're not heavily invested in the industry. Neither is idea man (at least not anymore). Imagine you were given a copious amount of information from an abundant amount of sources. Your job isn't at risk because you're not in the industry and your sources aren't easily traceable. On top of that you want to get confirmation through more than one source before you share this information. Do you really think you could practice self restraint in hinting that you know something? Hell, most of the insiders of this site ONLY hint at vague information which they don't even thoroughly explain later. I don't know, in my opinion criticism of idea man has always been ass backwards. This thread would probably be filled with useless banter half the time if not for his trickle of information. Btw, he did try to get confirmation as a junior. Eat children explicitly detailed this process himself, more than once!

I've made mention of having a "Resident Evil 4… 2!" game with Wii Remote and Nunchuk controls (because, damn, they were amazing) but with the DRC screen holding a permanent copy of the briefcase. The game doesn't pause when you look down to move around your inventory, but it will sense if you are looking down, just so the Capjerks can program in sneaky enemy attacks while you're fiddling with your items.

RE4-2 Wii was probably pitched at one point!

Or a Degeneration game that played like RE4 with RE5-style co-op. Something along those lines.

Kawata pitched two styles of RE games to Capcom. They went with the family friendly lightgun shooter because ~Capcom~

I think Zelda could be like this. Aonuma has said he wants to keep Wii Motion+ and also hinted at using the screen as Link's satchel. I could see them keeping Skyward Sword's motion control, but using the DRC like the touchscreen in OoT3D. Inventory, Map, etc.

Keep in mind that the majority of his reveal was going to be the fact that the newer Wii-U controllers are based on what we thought were the old patents, with full analogue sticks. That got revealed a little over a day before he turned from Junior into real. Since people are getting banned for very little reason these days (just look at Burnt Pork), particularly when posting threads, it's just a safe thing to make sure it's kosher to post a thread with just a small amount of new news as will be left over after that controller leak.

It's just months of teasing and hinting and bullshit, and for what? "Ooh, dev kits have colors! Just wait for new thread once member status :p" You drag it out like this, when there's nothing else to talk about, you build it up to the point where it's gonna deliver on the quite frankly silly amount of hype. Just post your little tidbits of info or just be quiet.

My angle is that the vast majority of his posts have nothing to do with the information he is holding. He posts genuine items of speculation (which most people here do not, save for guesses about how many GHz and TFLOPS the chips inside the system have), and he challenges people into posting their own (like the several times he urged others to think up possible ways for the DRC to be used innovatively). He's also often the first person to post news from the Internet to here. In fact, I think he does this more often than any other poster.

I understand that people can be annoyed at his presentation with regards to his knowledge on dev kits and whatnot. But I do not understand when people seem to attack him as a whole instead of that specific and minority aspect of his actions. Ad hominem and all that. It seriously boggles my mind sometimes. I mean, we're Nintendo fans. We're above that.

Well, fine, I'll cancel my game, then. It was going to be awesome and stress every aspect of the Wii U heavily, but now none of you will get it.

Yeah, I program sometimes, but my most complex game was a poorly-written clone of Tetris for my own enjoyment. But do keep in mind that game developers have to deal with realities of the market and of their own engines that prevent them from fully exploring what would be the coolest possible ideas. It's easy to do all this from an armchair perspective.

People see what they want to see fan or not. Objectivity should be the only absolute but apparently it is not. You're right, Idea man has been a part of this thread for more reasons than just teasing. Posts lacking your insight is mostly why I lurk in this thread
