Bullshit friend, I rather watch a quality HW fight like Barnett/Cormier or JDS/Mir over crap like Faber/Cruz or any fight with Mighty Mouse Johnson.

Highly skilled big guys that can end a fight at a moment's notice is high tension and compelling entertainment.

Watching two midgets slug it out in an oversized dog cage w/out the tools and hopes to finish a fight, because they don't have the power of an average sized adult, is not entertaining.

I'm with you, man. With me being 6'6" and 240lbs and all, the last thing I identify with is seeing is a bunch of elementary school kids wrestling each other to a decision because they've not got enough meat on them to KO a brown paper bag. Especially with the comedy value of seeing Dan Miragliotta in the same cage with them.

When I said "lighter weights" I mean everything down to 155. Weight classes below that might not as well exist in my eyes (and in the eyes of pretty much every average American UFC fan I guess.)

Last call for the Cain 2.0 hype train, fickle MMA fans. Chamber and I are gonna drive this shit 'til the wheels fall off. A return to unstoppable status is all but guaranteed.

Am I the only one on the Bigfoot War Wagon? Cain's getting exposed again. But don't worry, after a bit of surgery we'll be back with Cain 3.0 to hype to the heavens.

If Bigfoot wins it'll be by a Hendricks-esque holy-shit-at-that-KO-surprise-of-the-night.

UFC fighter Roy Nelson, who has teased pro wrestling involvement in the past, is at it again.

Nelson is now teasing jumping to WWE to go head to head with Brock Lesnar.

Speaking to MMAWeekly, the UFC fighter revealed that after he wins his next fight at this Saturday's UFC 146, he “might just have to go to WWE because I might just have to call him [Brock Lesnar] out, go to WWE, and whoop his ass.”

To be fair, Bigfoot Silva is fucking terrible. Never has a guy been hyped so much while accomplishing so little.

He was 2 lbs less than when he was overweight for Vitor. Just give him 5 more tries!

I doubt he needed a life-saving IV drip this time as well.

The motherfucker should realise his college days are over and it's impossible for his metabolism to cut 50-60lbs as efficiently as it was before. At 6'2" and a 78" reach he would in no way be considered a small LHW. But knowing him he would bulk up to 250lbs and then cut to fight at LHW.

Exactly. He's just too dumb to be an mma fighter.

I don't get the mindset of these huge dudes who cut exorbitant amounts of weight to fight. Like I've said many times before I'm cool with guys draining fluid out of their systems and eating veggies for a few weeks to cut 15-25lbs to make weight, but when you hear about Rumble routinely cutting 50-60lbs to make weight you have to be asking questions about his psychological state. One could think he's scared of fighting dudes a similar size as him, or (more probably) he's still caught up in his college days when he wrestled at 174lbs. But whatever the case, renal functions are not worth sacrificing for whatever size advantage you think you'll get.

Ariel's latest Uncle Dana interviewAlso says Black Fedor would be a great 205'er, aka he needs a fresh body for Bones asap.

Speaking of, I remember Heel mentioned this in nerdchat:

I would love to see him stay at hw just to see what his speed, hands, and olympic level stalling wrestling can do against guys with 40 lbs on him.

Daniel Cormier Would Consider Move to 205 to Avoid Cain Velasquez

I think we can all read between the lines here. Cain is the alpha male at AKA despite what the fickle MMA community may think.

That said, I'd love to see Bones vs. Cormier. Just hope it doesn't end up looking like Bones vs. Evans.

EDIT: Ah just realized it's the same article, haha.

Haha, ya that's the same article I linked. But that was last year. A win over Barnett and people calling him Black Fedor Emelianegro might give him the confidence to stay at hw.

I can see him getting an automatic heavyweight title shot to unify the belts and then drop to 205 to avoid any conflicts with Cain if he loses.

If he wins we're heading for some Jackson camp style drama. Cain could be getting a title shot if he wins this Saturday.

I remember reading a really in-depth story about Cormier's life. Between his dad being murdered when he was a kid, losing his daughter and then having fucked up weight cuts that ended his Olympic ambitions it gave you a greater appreciation for the guy. It also explains his emotional reaction at winning the GP.

And I like it when guys like Barry, Hunt and Cormier succeed at heavyweight. At the rate that tall guys are cutting down, they'd be considered small-ish middleweights. Yet it works for them, and hopefully they don't feel the need to drain themselves in some misguided way to remain "competitive" - especially when they're capable of smashing guys that are over 6'4" right now.

Let's not forget DC has a +1 fight in Strikeforce left. So does Barnett.

Cormier vs. Carwin would be a fun one.

In the JDS interview I linked above JDS says he thinks the best hws are in the UFC and they deserve a shot before DC.

I'd really like to see Cormier vs. Hunt.

But the way I see it right now: if Cain wins by a good KO or submission then we're seeing JDS vs. Brown Pride 2 hopefully in September/October. Then after another 64 seconds Cormier will have the all-clear to avenge his teammate. That is, if his hand has fixed itself up and he's fufilled his commitments to Showtime by then.

Oh right, I keep forgetting Strikeforce is still supposed to be around for a while.

And how else do you suppose that we get to witness such stunning fighting displays as Rock Lukehold vs. Ronaldo Souza II and Melendez vs. Thomson XVII?

Sad night for me, brehs. My PS3 just bricked. :(
Yellow Light of Death? If so, reflow it so it works temporarily and trade it in to Gamestop when there's an extra trade-in offer. It's what I did when my fat died. My friend sold his on Craigslist when the YLOD happened.

Cormier looks like he's just a ball of muscle, Cain would cut better I think.... probably wouldn't want to though.
