I love that PC gets the 30$ MSRP. I recently finished Lego Batman and while it's near the bottom of the Lego game list for me, it still hit the spot. I still need to pick up Lego HP2/Star Wars 3 before I get this though.

Is it just me or does not much of the world look like it's made of LEGO. Just the characters and vehicles. Thats kind of disappointing IMHO. Still going to get this though .

Holy shit this looks awesome! I generally love the Lego games, but my backlog's been too big for me to even look at this game, but now that I have; DAMN!

I like how the music instantly switches over from Elfman's Batman theme to William's classic Superman theme. Why did they call this "Batman 2"?! I had assumed it was a new Batman Lego game with Superman as an alternate character. Had NO idea Wonder Woman, GL, and Flash were in the game, along with god knows who else.

I'd love to get this for Vita, but such a shame it's a "handheld" version and not a console port. I'll pick it up for PS3 or 360 at some point for sure.

I'm actually planning on putting my backlog on hold when I get this game, it'll be a good break from all the uh...shooter-combat games I gotta finish @_@

But across a whole city? Impressive if it works without teleporting one player to the other's location now and then

Agreed, but that is what they said. Each player can run around doing their own thing in the open world, even with vehicles, and then come together to do missions.

It was in an e3 video that's somewhere on youtube, that's all I can remember.

RIGHT.

Tt hit it with The Clone Wars and they have gone up a gear again!
what will the next SW game be after this? the best star wars game ever?
a cross between the narrative and RPG of KOTOR, the dueling of JK3, the space combat of Tie Fighter... oh and local/online co-op.

So disappointing that the Vita version is not open world, when we know it would be capable of it. I would love to pick it up, but alas.

Sigh...so there's the 360 version for $40 (with Amazon's $10 rebate) and DLC, the PC version which is $20 cheaper and has GFWL...or the gimped Vita version.

I think the 3DS is capable of open world also so kinda sucks it isn't.

Regarding all these Lego games in general, are they not way too easy and offer no difficult challenge?

Well...that's disappointing. Any reason why the Vita and 3DS versions don't have open world?

A combination of budget and storage limitations, I guess: the small userbase means it makes more financial sense to share development resources with the 3DS version (reducing risk for both) than with the console version. Also, while the Vita is quite more powerful than the 3DS it uses pretty much the same media format, which means the biggest the card the more expensive it is. This version won't sell enough copies to justify a 4GB card (it's probably 2GB or lower).

Apparently the 3DS version and Vita versions are the same core game. Bummer. Does anyone know if the Vita version supports co-op?

It's funny that, while it's near identical to the 3DS version, most of the environment textures are actually different. I would expect them to simply downsample instead of making two different sets of textures.

Seriously why the hell is this not on steam? i mean the first one is.

It's WB so it might be regionally restricted, also some TT lego games were released later on steam like Harry Potter 2 and Indiana Jones.

If you want it now just go for the retail version i'd say.

Doesn't explain why the PSP versions of Clone Wars & PotC were upscaled DS versions when every PSP lego before were console ports.

This is one of my favorite things about LEGO games -- not releasing for $40 or $50. I'm quite happy to buy a game on release for $30 if I'm interested in it.

Finally got around to trying the 3DS demo. Blah, a very by the numbers lego game. Will get console or pc version though.

huh..then I guess they've made them liner on Vita/3DS to make them more "handheld" experience (with shorter missions/levels ects)

I play my Vita for 3 hours straight at times and when I am done I just pause and put it to sleep. So I rarely ever shut it completely off. I get the feeling majority of handheld owners do this so its frustrating when they try to make games like this bite sized for a "better handheld experience".

Anyone know if the pc version of this game will support 2 360 gamepads for co-op? I have the wireless adapter, want to get it for me and my brother to play and would love to pick up the cheapest version.

Disappointed in the handling of the Vita version (again... they screwed us on the Harry Potter 5-7, too), but since I got it for $29.99 + $10 amazon credit, effectively making it a $20 purchase, I will try to be forgiving

So wait, the Vita version is not open world? That might change my decision on this game. Can anyone firmly confirm this?

Superman - Sooo I was thinking. Gonna look around the zoo with GL. Maybe ride a monkey. Y'know, for fun. Then, I'll just fly over to the Batcave. Have my theme music playin' in my head while I fly. Then, gonna steal the Batmobile for a joyride and mow down some innocent citizens with guns a-blazin'! What are they gonna do? I'm the goddamn Superman!

XD This game is insane! can't wait.

After watching that...I wish I pre-ordered when it was around $38 on amazon... I may have to just bite the bullet now.

I can firmly confirm this. They were showing it at E3. It's a down-port made by TT Fusion, just like almost every other handheld Lego game. The only time a portable version has matched the consoles was the PSP version of the first Lego Batman, and it was glorious if a little low res.
