I know I'm late, but I'm pretty damn sure that when I bought Batman: AA (GOTY) back in nov 2010 the store page said it'll automatically renew your activations each month. So they must have changed it since then, something that is not okay to do.

People still care about Half-Life?

Kidding, don't burn me! Though, I never really *got* all the hype, so.. :>

Fray still not working. The dev team said they'll throw in a free soundtrack and maybe something more (an extra achievement apparently) for the ones who already bought the game to make up for the launch mess.

Also: If you bought the game, you got a message saying that you'll receive a second free key to give to a friend. That is apparently wrong and only worked during the Preorder phase leading up to yesterdays launch of the alpha.

Quite a messy launch. Launching on steam and not expecting to have more than 40-50 concurrent players.

That's sad to hear :/
This looks really promising. Guess I'll wait for the re-release (If they ever get the bugs fixed?)

Edit: in other news, it seems the Dev group for the game ' A virus Named Tom' might have pushed the release up to August ... or that might have been the date Steam has had all along. For more context, they asked on reddit if people will buy the game if it launches a few weeks after the summer sale.

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...

After all the trouble so far, I sort of hope the game is the next coming of christ :p Since I already bought it, I'll continue informing myself and keep you guys up to date. IF the game actually is worth playing and IF they manage to get their shit sorted out in the next few days, I'll post an OT. If anyone is particularly interested in it, I could write you a message after I put the OT up (might not be all that popular, so people will probably not notice the OT if its gone to page 2 too soon).

So if you want to know about the progress of the situation on Fray and a possible upcoming OT, write me a PM and I'll message you as soon as the game works and I have some impressions.

Thanks lol, although that just seems like extra work for you. Just post the link in here when (if it ever gets there) its up.

My interest in this is average though, mainly due to being semi poor atm. So will follow it, but will only buy it once I get me some monies ... and they fixed it ... and it's not too bad (as I rem watching some vids of this awhile ago).

Gamefly apparently doesn't even let you set up an account if you're outside the US. But I'm sure Arkham City will be at least 75% off during the Steam Summer Sale, so no harm done. And these places wonder why Steam gets all the money :p

I wonder how they will format summer sale today. I don't expect free games though.

lol, quite optimistic!

We havent even had reports of games updating for achievements yet.

Are the answers above me serious or sarcastic?
I took part in last year's Fall and Xmas sales, I just assumed there was a Spring Sale too.

The Dota2 lambada thing is just because league teams are able to set what they want those to look like now

It's better if you pretend there wasn't a spring sale otherwise you will live forever in the knowledge that you missed out on the best sale ever. I don't think Valve will ever make discounts that large again especially as it is considered to devalue IPs so third parties will refrain from them in the future.

Except Valve said it will press the red button (liberating all games from the Authentication Servers) if it ever goes bankrupt. Offline mode works perfectly for me, despise what other people say in this thread.

SecuROM can't even give you extra installs today, while they're alive and kicking.

Outside of the other issues with this idea raised, I'm not sure Valve could actually go do that. They could with their own games, but I don't think they could do it with everyone else's. If I am, say, Ubisoft or Square-Enix, I don't want my games released from authentication servers because the retailer has financial trouble.

If Valve were to go bankrupt, a store like Steam is a valuable asset and they would have no trouble finding a buyer.

Just go into offline mode before Steam shut down.

I'd expect free games.

Maybe not as generous as the Christmas Sale where you could get a ton of different games for free, but last year they had coupons you could use to buy a couple free games, DLC, in-game items, etc.

Yeah, I think their achievements-earn-games stuff sold a ton of the games the achievements were on, especially since they always had corresponding sales on them. Just give people an excuse. I wonder how Christmas worked out for them because that was A LOT of quality free games flying around.

I don't recall any of the sales starting on thursday. I thought it was a monday so they can have an even 2 weeks. I definitely remember the last few sales ending on the third monday of the sale (starting on a monday and then the following monday)

So what's the theory on when the sale might begin?

Qunatum Conundrum is coming out the 21st, and it's pretty much a given that no independent or smaller budget games are going to be released during the summer sale. I remain confident it'll be from the 24th-26th.
