Its more about giving the stream goers a peak at what we are missing, the people attending are doing the battle ground they showed earlier right now and food is what they get to eat on the floor. :)

The only thing I don't like (but I might enjoy more if I could understand what they are saying) is the Japanese audience isn't very animated during these conferences. You can't gauge if they are enjoying it or hating it lol. When they announced the level cap change I said holy crap out loud in my room, but there wasn't a peep from the audience, not even murmuring. So when someone seems to have told a joke to rile up the crowd... they just move on to the next thing with little reaction from around them. XD

Edit: Dev talk session starting soon, the community stream should up sometime after this session to give a summary of the event. Holy crap right off the start

Looks like the stuff in the ROM9 folder was just a tease, the city area looks a lot different with new textures on it.

I don't know. It looked like two new jobs because of the back shilouettes, we'll probably find out. They're explaining that they have a reason for going Adoulin this time.

Ah ok, So the big reasons they went west were A) Going north would have story developments too similar to what's gone on so far and East/South have had a big part in the story so far so they felt the impact for a disc expansion would be a little weak.

They're talking about the history of Adoulin right now, it's a little interesting but a little too fast for a quick translation but it's interesting. But basically, the large continent to the left was colonized by Adoulin and something happened and they had to abandon it or something. So as a result it was left untouched for a long time, I think. The hero characters get involved somehow and are asked to come there to help out.

They use Kaitaku quite a bit which means pioneering/exploration/reclaimation.

Ah, they're talking about a new game system with this "Trailblazing" overcoming dangers, destroying boulders/trees for materials, and setting up outposts!?

Lol, they're taking suggestions on what fish they should put into the game for fishing.

It's hard to believe they're making a real expansion pack. I figured Square Enix was done with major expansions/add-ons after Abyssea.

So yeah, exploration seems to be a big theme in this.

Finding caves, enemy bases, unique statue parts, and power spots stuff like that will be a part of the system.

Now it's new enemies. New beastmen, similar to crocodiles/gators

So is this expansion going to be on disc or download? I was considering playing FFXI over the summer for the first time, but I may wait until this drops.

Just what I wanted to hear, I wanted new systems completely outside of the normal world, that's probably the biggest thrill of new expansions, getting territories and places with specific dynamic content unlike anything else in the game.

I really really reeeeally hope they release it on disc, I love my shelf console FFXI collection. :D

PS2 disc in 2013 though.....? lol.

They really should just bundle the subscription cost of FFIX and FFXIV into a 'Final Fantasy Online Subscription' or something. It's hard to justify hopping back into FFIX with the way FFXIV is shaping up. I'd love to have access to FFXI with a FFXIV sub. :/

Monster bases will be done similar to Company battles. They have something called a Makyo Instance event as well. Explanation will be tomorrow.

New guilds unique to Adoulin are going to be in as well, with unique quests. Raise their levels to get new items, services, and even make the buildings better, it seems.

i hope they do too. i'm gonna be deep into FFXIV 2.0 when this expansion comes out but i would be down to give it a try if they've got a plan for it.
