And in the end it doesn't matter basically. So you can basically forget this series ever happened because it literally has no impact on the show as a whole.

A feel good ending of sorts.
We're kind of left in the dark on how ol' Richie felt during those eight years.

Pretty much what I expected out of it but I still found it rather moving.

It was a bit rushed and the series could've definitely benefited from at least a few more episodes, but for what it was it was a fun ride. There were one or two episodes that weren't very good and I still not a huge fan of the character design and some of the art direction, but I definitely enjoyed this show. The 60's setting was great, the addition of jazz was awesome, and the coming of age story was done very well I thought. Kaoru and Sentarou had very good chemistry and interactions with each other and made the show all the more entertaining.

"OH MY GOD"

Wonderful. Everything leading up to this point has been simply great. An intense yet and an incredibly moving climax. This show literally felt like one that got better with each episode. Yuki's character development throughout the series was wonderful to watch and and the camaraderie between all four main characters was so good. I'm pretty satisfied with the conclusions of the cast of characters. Yuki is a completely different person than from the first episode and it's good to see him out of his shell.

Probably the best feel good show of the season alongside Space Bros.

In the end, it felt more of the same way I've been for more than half of the series. This was not entertaining nor engaging (mentally, emotionally, etc). (I mostly blame the Robert House side of the equation.) The final confrontation is talking the viewer's head off with more back stories. A shame that the narrative went the way it did for this series. A call for Lupin's old antics was too much to ask for, same ol', same ol'. I am positive now that this experience was not more enjoyable than the previous option. I didn't leave with a generally positive energy for the overall experience, not for the promising character designs met with generally unattractive animation and definitely not for Fujiko's story for damn sure. The times I did have a good time with the series were far and in-between (most of them in the first half), I am hard-pressed to find a notably enjoyable mark after episode 6. Is it the worst thing I have watched this year? Well, I still watched an amount of Sengoku Collection. Then again, I never had hopes that Sengoku Collection would be any more than a pile of shit. I at least had neutral to mildly positive expectations for this work. Instead, I received a work that presented itself with a tone that it could not carry effectively with a main character that didn't aid in the equation. This is peculiar as Lupin and Jigen are more or less in-character with how I've seen them in previous works and I usually liked their interactions fine. Whenever, it focused on Fujiko (and poor Goemon who can't really carry a lengthy scene alone) things stayed flat. As Lupin stated more than once in the latter half of this series, "This is Fujiko's story." Yes, it is and how much I am not fond of it.

Rupan Sansei until we meet again, I must bid you adieu. Hopefully, the next showing will be filled with laughter and whimsy. I will take about anything not along the lines of this again.

I'll finish this sometime in the future. Don't care about this shit anymore. Fuck Kaoru, fuck Sentaro, fuck Manface. This show ended back in episode seven. It's all been a dragged-out denouement, sort of like a corpse twitching as the gas comes out.

Tsuritama Ep12 (END)

Wow. That was brilliant. This is probably the best new series of the Spring 2012 season for me. It's uplifting, cheerful, dramatic, and a beautiful and unorthodox tale of friendship and fishing. Everything emotional high point of the show is earned, and all the characters are developed and add layers of satisfaction to the larger whole.

One thing the show manages to achieve which I find rare in any show is a cohesive and focused direction. Every aspect from the music, the designs, the backgrounds, the art direction, the colors, and the writing are all unified in creating a singular tone and direction for the entire series, adding things up bit by bit across the entire series and swelling up into an extremely satisfying climax.

I'm so happy now I can't stop smiling. So good. Tsuritama and Fate/Zero are totally opposites of the emotional spectrum and both are my favorite shows of the season. Nakamura definitely redeemed himself from [C]. So, so so good. :D

It's a really odd finale episode. I don't think it was badly done or anything, in fact it was a suitable and fitting ending. But at the same time it's not really the ending I really expected. The abridged nature of the entire series feels really obvious when I realize that there's a serious lack of emotional attachment at the end. It feels that given a few more episodes or half a season more, the characters and developments could be a lot more fleshed out, and the conclusion would have more impact.

Overall I definitely enjoyed the series, but it was really a roller-coaster ride in terms of pacing and direction. Some of the fault probably lies in the source material, while a lot of it also lies in how little time they had to adapt all the content, but they made those creative decisions and this is what we got, so there's no point reflecting too much on that.

It's pretty disturbing that 8 years later Ritsuko looks even more like a man than she did when she was younger. -_-

I liked the music and visuals, however it just proves just how worthless every character aside from Sen and Kaoru ended up being. Sure there were some cool moments to this ending, but it just felt like a letdown really. These last few episodes were completely dragged out, with little to show for it. The anime as a whole was somewhat underwhelming, particularly when you consider the 1 or 2 episodes that were downright bad. Poorly planned for the amount of material they had to cover.

So much for my "jazzy" ending

For real, this ending was okay. Sadly, it didn't go out with much of a bang (drum?). The overall story fell for me in the latter half of things. Overlooking smaller details, I blame the mere existence of Jun and Yurika. Those boys should have been busy growing behind instruments! That said, the show definitely had its strong moments, I just wish it more revolved around those elements rather than other business or revisited worries. I guess that roams more around the realm of complaining about the direction of the source material, but I wanted to put that out there. I didn't dislike it, but it's a shame there was not more for me to enjoy later on.

Bravo, truly I couldn't have hoped for a better ending. Certainly the best finale of the season, with all the right touches. I had high hopes for this series, even after the disappointment of C, and it still beat my expectations. After some of the other disappointments this season, particularly Lupin, it was nice to see Fate/Zero and Tsuritama really knock it out of the park. During the first few episodes no one was quite sure where it was going to go, even though the episodes themselves were solid, but everything was paced so well as the characters grew together and different aspects of the plot were revealed. Nakamura and his staff did a great job building up everything to this finale, its really quite impressive. By the end of the show I was far more invested in the characters and setting than I thought I could have been. Throughout the show maintained constant level of quality in many different aspects like visuals, music, writing, etc., that converge with the direction for a high quality piece of anime. I'm very happy with this show, and how it ended.

Yeah the lack of emotional attachment to the characters was a problem for me in this final episode. Kaoru didn't really seem to grow that much, which left me unhappy with his personality. It's a good show with some real sour notes I think.

Not a bad ending. It's better than Nyaruko's at the very least.
I liked the whole second part much more than the first part of the episode. Maybe cause I really didn't care about their teenage dramas and stuff and a change of pace was welcomed.
Still, the music was still nice, but it didn't leave me amazed.

These crossover arts, nice. Anyway the ending could have really been better. Its speaks volumes when the actual intriguing stuff is all that happens in the preview of the first episode of the second half than the entire contents of the episode itself. Really am hyped about the next half as this Valmet arc was awful.

The anime was plagued with way too many yuri'ish moments and shower scenes, as well as just at times uninteresting plot points or focusing on the worst characters. Why so much focus on Valmet who has such a terrible personality. Actual good and cool characters, like Jonah and Lutz (the best two in the group), could have been utilized way more. Also the art for the anime is odd, why so many bushy brows and etc? Gun stuff was good as well as some action scenes, oh and the best song is Time to Attack

The producer thinks that it's unusual for staff to love a project as much as they do. Even he is proud to be involved in it.

Cap'n Ayumi is a pretty cool guy.

Pushes kids who are being annoying in their hesitance about
getting a paycheck
and doesn't seem to be frightened by many things.

The steady incline of enjoyment has seemed to find its place to rest for now. This episode was alright, but nothing special.
Yuki is making his progression through the realms of fishing ever more.

I did not know what to expect at that time, but after the KURICORDER QUARTET setting the mood at that noitaminA conference stream sold me on it (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=36492623&postcount=3310) I have been very proud of seeing this amazing experience!

Highschool DxD is about as boobalicious as an anime can get. I think only Highschool of the Dead was more ridiculous in the boobs department - but certainly didn't have this volume of bare breasted women.

I almost feel like I'm watching a hentai sometimes with this anime.

they also should have cut out the ending to give us an extra 60 seconds of footage!

Individual show threads only survive if they can attract attention from people who don't normally post in here; otherwise it just peters out into cross-posting and then abandonment. Without the draw of a big name or an established franchise that Fate/Zero, Kids on the Slope, and Lupin had, unfortunately Tsuritama could not gather that kind of attention.

Actually yeah, that was something I was amused by as well. The show ending after the opening play would have been a good touch instead of showing the ending which made it feel like they needed to kill some time.

I posted this in the Kids on the Slope thread. For possible discussion, I'm going to toss it in here too:

This show ran into the same problem as Korra did. It was way too short. Not enough time to build on these characters, and make the audience feel attached to them. The finale felt rush. I didn't hate the finale, I was actually fine with it (unlike Korra). Though, the quality of the end would have risen if the show was given more time to bloom.

My current feelings are the show had vast potential, yet it only reached half of it. Given more time, this would have been something extremely special. As of now, it is only a contender for my top five anime for this year, instead of all-time.

Isn't that just the case with most OTs? They basically act as a way to make people outside the Anime thread aware of certain shows and after the first episode people just post their opinions in this thread.

Yeah, I'll probably hit that up this weekend; I remember liking the trailer (not to mention the novelty of how it came to be), but when the actual thing came out I put it on the backburner.

It's about time Cosmic put out the new thread, though. This was as good of a finishing touch as any; Tsuritama isn't going to be topped.

Tsuritama 12 (FINALE) - That was such a satisfying finale to cap off the series. The show in general may have not had the thematic depths of say Mononoke and Trapeze but it was still a very satisfying tale about friendship, fishing, and growing up! the music as usual was the real high-light of the episode, every single piece complimented the visuals and mood perfectly, and gave the last two episodes in the series a real "cinematic" feel for lack of a better word.

Really loved the sequence where the
world starts brightening up
it gave off such a happy and upbeat feeling, especially with everything the characters went through prior to that moment.:)

So good to see Kenji Nakamura redeeming himself after the abysmal [C] eagerly awaiting what he has next in the coming years!

Y'know I'm pretty sure the Hanasaku Iroha finale got a more positive reception than Sakamichi no Apollon's finale somewhat.
