Don't really see the whining about it not being BC3. It would be pretty much same game just with the same shitty SP campaign tacked on with dopey characters. People who expected the gameplay to revert to what they liked in BC2 were living in fantasy land.

This probably was BC3 if anything and they just said fuck it, call it BF4.

I thought DICE had rumored an actual Dinosaur expansion pack? But if BF4 is coming out in 1-1,5 years, I don't think there will be any dino's.

This. BF3 was one of the most disappointing games this gen for me (along with Mirror's Edge) but BC2 was one of the best. My love for DICE seems to be schizophrenic lately =/

Didn't we just get Battlefield 3? I would say that it should be more like BC2 but there is still a lot to fix from the mess that BF3 was.

I can see this making sense if BF4 is a next gen launch title. I've been saying this for awhile, it's the best chance EA and Dice have of grabbing a bigger chunk of COD audience, people are more willing to try something different in the beginning of a new generation.
(except BF games are playing more and more like COD, oh the irony...)

If BF4 is released for the 720 on launch and the PS4 still takes at least 6 months to be released I'll buy a 720 in a heartbeat. And I was thinking of not buying all future consoles like I did this gen.

The same resume also listed Mirror's Edge 2, so I'm assuming they decided to drop both projects in favor of Battlefield 4 and the new IP that's shown up more recently.

My Wish: Medal of Honor fails, EA shuts down Danger Close, Employees get sent to DICE, DICE makes B team to work on Mirror's Edge 2 while also working on Battlefield. I know this probably wont happen, but I can't take the subtly teases about Mirror's Edge any more!

Couldn't agree more. BC2 was quite a surprise to me, I enjoyed the first but had an absolute blast with the 2nd. BF3 on the other hand was a huge disappointment for me. It's a shame because it looks and sounds so damn good - watching videos of it to this day still look awesome. Then I try playing it again...

Shouldn't have put the smiley if they really wanted to sound serious. Obviously a viral stunt through, they did put up the graphic with BF4 on it on the actual site and several sites nabbed it.

Then they commented saying an official announcement will be made but then deleted that tweet.


Also, I think internal problems may be going at DICE because I thought BC3 was being developed next..but obviously looks like that is canceled now.

Coincidence that the BF BC2 and BF3 lead designer resigned from the company just yesterday and BF4 is unofficially announced today by DICE? I think not.

Too funny. This is the future you can't release one game every 3 years. 2 years is fine. You guys must not following bf games, they come out with new version every year its seems. II like these new model compared to the old one.

...wouldn't it just be easier to relabel them as DICE California rather than close the firm and pay relocation fees to move staff out to Sweden?

Aww man, was really hoping for a Bad Company 3. :(

Battlefield 4 seems too soon, especially with all the premium content DICE/EA plan to roll out for BF3. I figured people would just keep playing BF3 with all the new maps.

I think I'm done with the series after 3 unless their doing something other than modern warfare. Bought 3 to play with my friends despite the fact that I talked a lot of shit about it and ended up playing for 23 hours before I got bored. Thought I'd like it more than BC2 which I played for 222 hours.

BF3 just feels off to me. Oh well, I guess I'll be missing out or something.

Maybe for BF4 they shouldn't use an animation system from a fucking soccer game.

Also bullets that don't smear the screen in vaseline and cause minor cerebral palsy. Fucking idiotic "suppression" system ruined what had the potential to be a great shooter.

Edit: And a sunglasses perk to block out the additional glare from what is apparently a second set of suns inhabiting the BF3 solar system.

Considering that Battlefield Premium for BF3 has its last DLC in March 2013 and BF4 will come out in Fall 2013 at the earliest... I think it's safe to say there isn't that much of a problem.

What the fuck? Maybe it's just because the announcement seems so soon after launch, but 2014 is still a while off. It's not that bad I guess. Three years is a decent enough life span. Assuming it does actually launch in 2014. A 2013 launch would be far more disappointing, though.

Considering they've released Battlefield games in 02, 04, 05, 06, 08, 10, 11 it's really would not be shocking to see BF4 in 2013.

EA have other studios besides DICE working on a Frostbite 2 game, maybe they're supporting on Battlefield 4.

Remember when PC games were $50? Remember when Battlefield 3 PR said it was a big enough leap to warrant the 3?

It think it's more likely that the Bad Company series is "outsourced". Battlefield is a core part of DICE.

Welp, what does outsourced even mean? I mean I played some of Bad Company 2's campaign last night and it said "a dice game" and listed a bunch of Swedish names.
What if EA's other studios are outsourcing on Battlefield 4 too?

Looks like most people here that has issues with BF3 are playing the console version. Not surprised as the PC version is still going strong with issues getting fixed pretty quickly. And the BF3 community on the PC is still huge.

BF3 console version is kinda a message to all players out there to get a PC version instead lol.

BC3 I would be day 1 but BF4 I will wait until after the first big patch then rent it. BF3 was a little bit of a disapointment to me compared to BC2.
