I just got Crunchyroll premium. They gave me 30 days free because I had an .edu email. So, how is it? I am ten years behind on pretty much any anime....besides Welcome to NHK, Eureka 7, and tons of one to several episode quits of random crap I didn't like. I'm pretty excited because it's gonna be good to get back into it after so long.

And I would have even less of an idea of what to watch with their live action Japanese shows. But first I am gonna watch Gintama.

Fate/Zero was the big thing on AnimeGAF pretty recently and is a pretty safe try.

They can listen for themselves and decide. Maybe even pick another Precure series theme:

Heartcatch vs. Suite transformation theme debate doesn't even matter because all of the Takanashi transformation themes (Fresh - present) are so far below everything that came before that it's not worth discussing. Takanashi murders anything that he touches, and the transition from orchestrated themes to synth shit at the beginning of his Precure reign of terror is no different.

I guess the Suite theme gets the Best of the Worst title.

You should watch Heroman, my favorite non slice of lifish (kimi to boku, sekaiichi hatsukoi) anime they have up there, as well as watch Kokoro Connect, and Ano hana.

Listening to these, I get the sense they were keeping things light and more orchestral until Fresh, when they added in the rock and guitars and things got awesome.

edit: Hmm, seems my opinion is the exact opposite of Mad Pierrot, though I don't consider the earlier ones bad. Also I didn't know the composer changed at that exact point too, which explains things.

Listening to these themes on these old Sony headphones at my parents place makes me really miss my Fischers. I think I'm becoming an audiophile and I'm so scared. Somebody hold me.

Well, truth be told, the Takanashi transformation themes aren't bad for what they are, I just really, really dislike very synthesized sound compared to the older orchestral themes. They're good compositions but cheaply-performed.

I don't think Takanashi is a bad composer, but I'm no music expert. I like some of the things he does.

That's fine, personal preference and all. I've just never liked anything that he's worked on. Modern Precure music is bad, Fairy Tail music is bad, Oda Nobuna music is bad, but I certainly haven't seen everything he's been involved in.

If actually being a lesbian isn't enough I'm doomed.
SDBurton is post-lesbian. lol

I was just joking! lol
GAO! :D

ANN has posted an interview tih Kanta Kamei, the director of the Usagi Drop anime.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/inte...-of-bunny-drop

Do note that a couple of the questions discuss in vague terms the direction of the series past where the anime adaptation finished, if you're sensitive to that sort of thing.
They didn't even ask about the movie and how it worked into their co-marketing plans!

On one hand I can hear what youre talking about because its a more classic pure sound. however IMO magical girl shows should feel rather epic, and the overblown synthed recent themes give a much more grandiose feel to everything.

What does that mean?!
PoLes is a new form of sexuality not bound by actual being. It's a state of mind!

Knight in the Area is still stupid, but this is what amounts for women's soccer in anime just as Nadeshiko Japan continues to play into the Olympics:

NSFW maybe (there's bloom censorship, but GAF is full of prudes!) - http://i.imgur.com/iaa25l.jpg

I wonder if anyone from the team actually watches this shit. lol

How do you feel about Sailor Moon's various transformation themes? They use a combination of orchestral and electric/synthesized music (though mostly orchestral) and I personally believe to pretty great effect.

SDBurton should summarize the game for us.!

The game is pretty neat. Having animated cherry blossoms glide past the characters was a really nice touch that stood out for me (dunno why). With the help of
Atlas and AGTH
I knew the main character had to transfer schools because of the trouble he faced in his last one. What had me confused though was in game there would be moments where
he would talk to himself in a mirror, but on the other side would be someone else that looked like him with a different name. This is when the translation got a little iffy and to this date I have no clue whether that girl in the mirror was a sister he lost long ago or just his inner self.
What I love about this game is when you were faced with choices, when you select one it gives you a chibi pic of the character that's on that path, which makes going through routes far more enjoyable when you know who you want to complete.

Anyway, best girls are Kaori Kamichika and Kayleigh Glanzelius:

One of them invites younger women to empty classrooms after school. Can you guess which one? :3

I like that. And saying that simply being a lesbian makes you a superior yuri is kinda offensive. :lol

I like a good amount of henshin themes. Some of my favorite stuff in anime music. There is a great deal of fun/excitement in those themes and it brings back those childlike feelings of excitement seeing the heroes kicking the bad guys ass in. Its great shit.

But what about the long haired fencing one? lol

I didn't care about the anime shows that were delayed, but I missed the Brazil show.

Good to have you back (again)!

:D

I'll show up more now that the Swimming events at the Olympics are over, but I probably won't catch up on all the stuff I missed until after the closing ceremony. I get really caught up with the spirit of competition, haha.

Nope, still in full swing.

Goddammit.

Clearly there'll be enough episodes to
beat all of the other Legion leaders!
:(

Isnt the source material still ongoing? I cant imagine that was even a possibility when the anime was announced, unless we get 25 more episodes.

Yeah, I think so, and I was kidding when stating that. I just didn't expect the show to get stuck in such a shitty arc for so many episodes.

Edit: A KH3D avatar, huh? Goddammit.

Well since Crunchyroll has A LOT of stuff, it's hard to just recommend something without knowing your tastes. What did you like back when you watched anime?

Also, it may not be on Crunchyroll, but find a way to watch Gurren Lagann.

Gurren Lagann is oh Hulu, I don't think you need a subscription to watch it either.
