Halo |OT8| A Salt on the Control Room

the reason a single grenade can kill you in reach is because the impact damage takes off enough shield for the explosion to kill you. it sucks

Actually the reason is usually because of the health system. If you have less than 100% health with full shields you can die from one grenade.

You may also be able to die from impact + explosion but I've never noticed it. I thought the damage from a grenade impact was relatively small.

EDIT: I am curious about the answer to this question about grenade behavior though. Can they be detonated when "dormant" or by bullets at all for that matter? Personally I didn't like the feature in Reach.

it's probably both, honestly

I'm curious as to why you don't like the feature.

Does it feel too unpredictable? I feel it's hardly ever used against me in Reach.

I really wish thrown grenades couldn't be shot. Happens soooo often in Reach. I'm okay with being able to shoot dormant grenades, though.

I feel as though the preorder bonuses (and any preorder bonus for that matter) should function in the same way the Specilizations work.

Let people who preorder have them early but at the same time, let everyone else get them after considerable time is spent in-game. This way, the benefit for retailers is still there and players can get all the content. Not every player will get all of it, but the players who are in it for the long run.

Exactly. It's not a big concern to me whether it's in the game or not because (as you said) I don't find it occurs against me too often, but I do feel like, when it does come into play, it is almost always unintended by the player (the .gif aside) . Particularly when a grenade gets shot in the air or in your hand.

The "dormant" nades I don't mind nearly as much. I've never seen anyone use your tactic of setting a trap but it is a cool idea.

Edit: It would actually be a cool feature if they allowed you to strategically drop a nade for this purpose. Might be a bit cheap though and would cause people to be suspicious of every nade they see around a corner if it becomes overused in matchmaking.

The "dormant" nades I don't mind nearly as much but it can be annoying when there are a bunch of nades on the ground from dead bodies that explode from an opponents grenade and 1HKs you. Although you used an example of it being done intentionally (first I've heard of this scenario - good idea though :), it is likely to happen far more often unintentionally.

This actually doesn't happen, at least not as you described. Dormant nades cannot be trigger from the explosion of other grenades. Only thrown grenades can be detonated early from another grenades explosion or if the grenade thrown is shot mid air.

I wonder how you feel about bloom if dormant grenades feel too random... trollface.jpg

Should you be able to shoot grenades in mid-air? Absolutely. Should they blow up when you shoot them? No, that's stupid and wouldn't happen. They should be deflected from their trajectory.

Yes I realized it was addressed above and that I was mistaken and removed it from my post but you were too fast lol.

I hate bloom. TU bloom is (more)bearable but still annoying at times.

Anyway, as I said, just curious if the grenade behavior has been changed but it isn't exactly high on my wish list for H4 or anything.

would still be nice though! ;)

As someone who is spending around £500 on Halo 4 stuff when launching I say.

Keep the exclusivity of the Digital Content for about 5-6 month and then unleash it on everyone.

Give the LE and Console buyers something similar to a nameplate to put next to their names or an exclusive skin or something but for the content that really interests people like Armor do not keep it exclusive for ever.

Random Power Weapon Drops.

Don't know what mods your enemy is packing.

With all this programmed randomness being so good for Halo, you should make guns randomly jam and make grenade trajectories more varied. Imagine how fun it would be if in the middle of the firefight, right before you kill someone, your gun jams. LOL!

Or if you throw a grenade at someone but it hits the side of the wall because of the varied path and it kills you!

My daily dose of salt for the day.

Wait.

What's this about a varied path?

Your salt has inspired me, there should be a "Strong Arm" Armor Mod that lets you throw grenades farther and ignore grenade momentum.

I just hate the chain grenade explosions from grenades blowing up your grenades and then some on the floor explode sometimes. Results in too many sloppy unskilled uncalled for deaths.

Hate it.

Grenades stuck in random places confirmed.

On a more serious note, will the armor from the Console and LE of Halo 4 be available to all players at some point?

It should be available, but with a smaller horn.

So those who purchased the console will be more well endowed.

Did Vic just confirm that Forerunners lack noses?

Hyper, am I missing something?
Wait a second I have to calm down. One of the artist of my favorite H2 level mentioned me. My mind cannot handle it.

Nah. It is really nothing. You can see already in Origins Pt. 1 in Halo Legends that Forerunners do not have a nose.

Has anyone questioned as to why we haven't fully seen what the discs look like for Halo 4, to theorize its format being Duel-layered for the next-gen xbox compatibility?
