If anyone isn't reading the Megaman comic, they don't deserve to call themselves Megaman fans.
That comic is a must read with all the shoutouts and references to various Megaman trivia, also it has Dick Gumshoe's long lost brother, WHY WOULD YOU NOT READ IT?!
Oh and in an upcoming issue
the RMs from 9 show up, which makes sense since they should be around in the series world before 9 takes place

Powered Up is super underappreciated! The worst part is that we're never going to see a Powered Up 2 based on MM2, and that is a fucking criminal offense that needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the jam.

Mega Man Universe was more or less Powered UP 2, shame that they fucked the controls, the art style and the general feel of the game (according to those who played it). It's a shame that Powered UP was never released for 360/PS3, the online community on those platform could have make the game last till the end of time thanks to the awesome level editor.

I have played countless games with level editors.

Mega Man Powered Up is the only one with a level editor I couldn't stop using. I made so many damn levels and the community was amazing had the height of its popularity. Holy shit, it was amazing.

Son and I have had a subscription to it for over a year now (^___^)

So what did you guys think of Megaman #16?
I'm liking Xander as a villain and look forward to his future appearances, and overall great arc, but does anyone else feel that #16 had some rather dark tones for a kid's comic?
At any rate, BREAKMAN SON, TIME TO BUST UP SOME FOOS!

Oh and cover for #19 in case anyone hasn't seen it yet (spoiler-ish warning) Dis gonna be gud~

We got the final design of the E-can, they are going to add some extra music, tracks from the Rockman Special CDs, 11 tracks in total, and also an unreleased track for Rockman 7.

What I say about Capcom in a lot of threads I think really applies to Megaman as well as their other older IPs.

Capcom has so many IPs sitting in their basement that they haven't touched in such a long time that a lot of them need some dusting off.
Mega Man
Onimusha
Breath of Fire
Dino Crisis
Rival Schools
and that's just to mention a few.

I know we don't want nothing but sequels and what not.
But at this point, these franchises have been so dormant that bringing them back would basically be something new and fresh anyway aside from the name.

They tried a little bit with Bionic Commando (Which I actually really enjoyed).
It just sucks to see something like Lost Planet 3 being made (Which after the heels of LP2 no one was asking for) and see the Blue Bomber left in the dust.

The E-tank is pretty cool.

I think that what capcom should do is gradually re-introduce older IPs into the world at large, but perhaps reboot them. Breath of Fire is actually something I am a bit nervous that they bring back. Jrpgs have not been to good to me personally and it seems that turn based is no longer an option. Apparently it was a real battle to get sf4 to happen to I imagine it wouldn't be different for older ips. It would have to succeed in big ways. I just don't think breath of fire could do that.

I'm sorry, but where can I get this thing?

The thing it's only sold in Capcom online store so you will need a friend or someone that lives in Japan that can buy it for you, or you can use this kind of "agents" that buy stuff from Japan and ship it to you (you have to pay a fee for their services), someone like celga.com.

Or you can try this:

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=NEODAI-2242

CDJapan will buy it for you in Capcom's online store but they will charge you extra for it, and they will only ship it using EMS, aka expensive shipping method.

So the price in CDJapan is $224.66 without shipping.

Thank you very much for the information! A bit pricey, but I have to have this.

So basically if I have most / all of those OST's, then it's a complete waste. Thanks for showing Mega Man some love, I guess.......

Well, I'm not gonna argue that they could have done it way better but if you want to see the bright side from a collectors standpoint, this is the first time the music from the Rockman Complete Works will have a CD release and also the music from 1-8 will be properly recorded, specially the music of 7 that had a sitty CD release. But yeah, this could have been glorious with some effort, and of course it's super expensive.

Dino Crisis hasn't seen a release since PS1. And besides, dinosaurs aren't that hot right now. They should release a (good) reboot of Dino Crisis with the atmosphere and gameplay of RE3DS, and of course the GFX of RE6.

I recently started a new file on my Anniversary edition of MM 8 and am really enjoying it, will be the first time I've beaten the game. I wish more stages looked like Grenade man though, Tengu Man and especially Clown Man's level are a little too pastel and cartoon themed for their own good.

You are a damn hero. Can you please launch a Kickstarter to start selling these?

A compliment or just teasing/classic Parish sarcasm?

But yeah it'd be cool if more people had these, switched or unswitched as of course they're also sweet for their intended purpose, the GBA player. Another sad omission by NOA.

Gotta think of something to do on December 17 for the anniversary. I found a VHS of the original Megami Tensei anime at Book Off, which is getting watched on September 11.

I'll probably do a marathon of the NES Mega Man games on Dec 17th

Maybe.

EDIT: Better idea, do a marathon on the week of Dec 17th.

I am wanting to replay the classic series SO DAMN BADLY, but I loathe hooking up older systems to play them, and Anniversary Collection is garbage when used with the 360.

I wish more Japanese companies would embrace Steam. If Capcom just released each separate Mega Man on Steam for $5 each, I would buy my own copies, then buy gift copies for all of my friends.

Got a Wii? The first 5 are all available, perfectly emulated for 5 clams a piece.

What classic sarcasm? I was being glib about Kickstarter, but I'm dead serious -- that is a completely brilliant hack.

Ah, that's basically what I thought, glad you like it. :) I just wish the Hori also had a nub for the C-stick because then it would be the most amazing way to play Viewtiful Joe.

Yeah, but I don't plan on touching anything Wii related until Wii U. So if the time comes and there's no announcement of a new collection or XBLA/PSN/Steam versions, I'll definitely get the Virtual Console ones once I get a Wii U!

Good plan! And hopefully they release MM6 and 7 somewhere down the line.

I've read the first eight (Which laregely cover MM1 and Powered up) and Skiped the third arc (Cuz that's all MM2 stuff IIRC and my Comic Shop transformed into a den of utter dickery, and Toymaster for some reason) and it's been a fun read so far. If anyone could have made a good MM comic, it would be Ian Potto; I mean the dood largely drug sonic back up from the duldrms that comic had saged to, that's amazing in of itself.

These days, I largely assume Megaman is owned by archie and that's the end of the matter; they're about the only people who give half a consummate fuck about the guy.

I honestly like Mega Man 8 too. It had its own unique tone in terms of atmosphere and music, and I like it for what it is.

But how about X8? I know people got sour after X7 went 3D, but X8 is a 2D platformer. Played the PC Port Gamestop.com was selling for a time, but I don't own a gamepad, and never made it past Burn Rooster's stage. Dang spikes...Still, I've seen a speed run and Let's Play, so I still want to play it again, properly.

I replayed X8 very recently. Gameplay-wise it's fantastic. Level-wise, it's a piece of shit (especially the god awful vehicle stages). So the game is a mixed bag, really. I'd put X8 way above X6 and X7 though.

I paid good money for this Dynex!

I get the feeling the game is very floaty... is it? I never bothered with X8, after having my soul crushed by X7.

Remember when Seth Killian said that a bunch of folks at Capcom Japan didn't believe Mega Man was popular in American? Wasn't that a barrel of laughs?

I attended a geek music show called Nerdapalooza earlier this month, and every other performer either was directly inspired by Mega Man (The Megas, The Protomen, Mega Ran) or dedicated a portion of their set to Mega Man music.

That should be clear evidence that the internal Capcom think tanks don't so much as look outside their window to gauge the brand's appeal.

Just read the arc, Yeah that was rather dark by kid standards. Then again, these are the same guys who had Eggman just up and murder doods Medusa style and has left
Snively to more or less rot in some random prison
(these are the ARCHIE guys! How do they even?!) so yeah.

That said, love that they brought back the
Lack of Hands
Gag with Needle-man.

Gunsmoke
Legendary Wings
Trojan
Forgotten Worlds
Strider
Power Stone
Capcom vs. SNK

I know I'm forgetting a bunch more.

I mean at least Namco are giving their stuff a fresh air with Shifty Look (even if that Ariga penned Klonoa comic seems to have stalled)

You'd be hard pressed to know that Capcom made a lot of Arcade games they way they act.

That siad, Capcom US are troopers, having to deal with that nonsense.

The controls are fine (outside of the 3D vehicle levels, thankfully 90% of the game is 2D), so are the weapons, characters abilities, etc etc. It's just that the levels are designed so poorly that it isn't a really good game. There's too many cheap deaths and sadistic sub-bosses (that fucking gravity switch level had the most evil "sub boss" of all time)

New figure to be released on December by Bandai (D-Arts toy line)!.

Pretty cool, I wonder if the thing will come with accessores to transform Rush.
