Apple's September 12 Event | It's almost here.

Is there any real reason Apple doesn't do a live stream of their events? Or do they just do it because they are Apple?

I think there's a few reasons. One of them being that so many people would tune in that it would crash their servers or make the stream slow (this happened the times they had a QuickTime stream), which gets people upset and gives off a bad impression. That, and unexpected events on stages (system crashes) look worse in front of gigantic global audience.

I hope there's something new for the Apple TV. Though I doubt it :(

So The Verge tends to be the better blog for these events right?

I mean, except for when they forget about the blog and start making new posts instead.

I hope not because there coverage of the kindle stuff was pretty on point. And I like how there blog updates. Visually its pretty cool and it seemed faster than most as well...no need to refresh...just slides down and boom

I'm excited for more mobile phone competition.

Imagine if Apple psyched everyone and announced iTV today and it blew everyone's minds. That would be cool.

There should be a new OS at the same time as the release for the iPhone and iPad, but have no idea what they'll include. I like how they've been able to stealthily update the "apps" on the AppleTV, adding Hulu and iTunes Music Fest without the need for an update.

So Apple today, Nintendo tomorrow...nice week of announcements.
And kindles last week! :D I am most looking forward to the WiiU event but I am looking forward to this aswell.

I don't care about the new iPhone, but new iPods, especially Touch, is gonna be awesome. Too bad the iPad mini seems that it won't be at this conference, that was what I was most looking forward to, oh well...

New nano mockups look interesting. I assume video playbacks back in if those mockups were accurate, hopefully it has wifi since this could be a cool thing for videos if I don't have to use iTunes to redownload stuff.

I hope the touch update is big since they skipped last tear. New colors would be cool. My most wanted thing is 128gb model. They need to release one already!

Well, they have technical errors often. I know that every year they have problems with their WiFi from all the live blogs frantically updating their blogs.

Didn't they just do those in February?
Software wise.

I've noticed that. It's pretty cool. I'm hoping Apple has new functionality or something with the OS update.

I want a new phone so these new iPhones are looking good. Also, I need a new iPod Touch since mine is only 8Gb and can't hold my library. I doubt there will be any new colors though.

iPad mini is extremely unlikely. People would probably go for that over an iPod touch, rendering it useless. Plus the iPad is the perfect size, anything smaller would be an annoyance.

So HYPED! I'm board the hype train, woo woo!

I am amazed with how much Iphone 4 performance has degraded over time with iOS updates that brought hardly anything notable new that would warrant such performance drop. Virtually no change in the fundamental way anything looks or works, yet it's gone from hero to zero in performance. I remember there was time where I didn't need to wait nearly 10 seconds for the camera to open and start recording.

Again lol whut.

Stop shopping at the Apple Stoer

Just read a particularly nasty piece on BBC on the upcoming iPhone from Dan Lyons (legendary Apple basher). Not gonna link to it cause he doesn't deserve the page views, but it's so laughably bad, he manages to include every single childish troll line in a single article, completely bashing something that hasn't even been shown yet. Amazing, and what's more amazing is that he gets payed for this shit, and is considered a 'technology pundit' with space on BBC.

Why is evey one of your posts about negative apple articles and how they are trolling?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but it used to be that back when they did Macworld to announce stuff people bought expensive tickets and they felt they should get the most out of it. So it kinda became something more exclusive and I think they figured they get more attention this way, having people fight over scraps.

They could, but it'd be a massive undertaking with lots of kinks. Tech sites are brought to their knees on iPhone day, it's the biggest traffic day of the year for them. Of course they have the power and money to do it, but that's a major reason they don't IMO.

So basically they don't do one because they are Apple. All of the issues mentioned aren't unique to Apple, and apply to every companies press conferences. Outside of "Apple is too popular and it would bring down the internet", which is obviously hyperbole.
