Plus a Bloodlines - Alpha Protocol crossover, in which you play vampire Mike Thorton, with recruitable buddies MCA and Heck.
That's a different announcement. They're trying to get the voice actress for Sis to come back, still negotiating.

Considering recent interviews with Chris Avellone, I think that's unlikely. My guess is that this is the spiritual successor to PS:T.
It's actually a collection of 5 games which will be revealed when the countdown ends:
- Fallout 4: All Quiet on the Western Front [Directed by Chris Avellone]
- Baldur's Gate 3: The Black Hound [Directed by Josh Sawyer]
- Planescape Torment 2: World Kaleidoscope [Directed by Chris Avellone]
- Salvation Falls (New original IP) [Directed and created by Josh Sawyer and Chris Avellone]
- Arcanum Zero: Reversed Gears [Directed by Tim Cain]
So what's the Wheel of Time?Is it good?
A rather generic fantasy series. Back in middle school I thought it was the shit, but I also liked Dragonlance back then so...
More than that, it's being treated by talented people - Even if the game mechanics and setting are dull, what really makes an RPG is good writing.I still found it more interesting than re-reading the LotR books not too long ago so...
Anyway, what matters for a game is the D20 adaptation shows there's plenty of interesting gameplay elements to be used if it were ever to be made in to an old-school RPG, much like Dark Sun, Changeling, or any other pen and paper RPG which could be converted to a game. I doubt the characters from the book would even have made it in to the game if it turned out to be that (except perhaps for a few you can't get away from, but then only briefly), it'd probably be an unrelated set of events or set in a different age or something. But fears or hope aside, this seems to be unrelated to the series.
So far we know it's PC only, fantasy setting, not seemingly based on existing anything, and very likely kickstarter driven. Well, I just got a $3k bonus at work Obsidian. Act quick before I spend it all on stupidly practical things.

Don't be PC only
My guess is that this is the spiritual successor to PS:T.
Wouldn't it be hard to make a game for consoles and PCs? I was under the impression that Obsidian wasn't doing too well these days.
If this is a countdown to a kickstarter, I will be fairly nonplussed. That's like, an announcement of an announcement of something that may not happen and if it happens won't happen for years.
Here's hoping it's something more concrete.
They have an in-house multiplatform 3D engine (Onyx), if they make a game on it I think they'll make the game multiplatform. If this new game is 2D and text-heavy, I don't think it would make sense to bring it to consoles... Macs and tablets, why not.
With a 4 in the teaser?
With a 4 in the teaser?
It'll probably take at least an year even it isn't kickstarter. And it'd still be an announcement of an announcement, minus the fact that it's kickstarter meaning less of a "crowd pleaser".
A 4 that turned into 3 and that later will turn into 2.. otherwise known as a countdown.
Countdown to kickstarter?
Onyx is well-capable of isometric games, and is designed with heavy dialogue in mind.
Don't do this to me...New clue posted by jesawyer. Figure it out.

MÄR , an acronym for Märchen Awakens Romance, is a manga series written and illustrated by Nobuyuki Anzai. MÄR is characterised by fairy tale motifs running throughout the series, Märchen being itself the German word for "fairy tale".

So, what does this tell us? We have "X" and "." on day one, then one X gets replaced by a T and one "." by an I.Code:<!--. X . X X . X X --> <!--. X . X X . T X --> <!--. X . X X I T X -->
Yeah, I got nothing.

Current theory is X = Consonant, . = Vowel.
English words that match the pattern are acerbity, alacrity, enormity, eternity and identity. Eternity might have some connection to the oroboros.
