I'm not 100% behind the new layout but with a few small tweaks I think it could be perfect. Only issues I have are all related to things not lining up. It triggers my OCD when shit is not lining up (like the image in that Fallout 3 article and the video player on the main page or the full image gallery where there were three different alignments). I hope they iron this out :-(

The scaling and image gallery look great. Review pages look nice as well. As Jeff shouted, he thinks the website should be black, so I feel like so much of the site is designed around only black and the white consequentially seems unfinished. I am liking most of what i have seen.

Did they mention release date or if things are retina-fied for Macs and iPad 3?

Site's looking alright, feels more spacious. Some pages are looking better than others, but I think it's the white theme that's throwing me off. Looking forward to the final version.

Site looks decent to me. Certainly better than the current design. My biggest concerns are the video viewer and search and filter options for videos. Playlists for videos would have been nice. I'm happy with the current HTML 5 player on the live site.

Having such a deep and well organised Wiki feels wasted without a proper search.

Would be great if you could search in the same vein as iTunes Smart Playlists - adding 'conditions' to find specifics that meet your parameters.

Clearly the demo was more for showing new features rather than showing a perfect redesign with everything where it should be.

Come on, don't see anyone who has claimed otherwise or saying how shit the new re design is. If you don't want people commenting on a unfinished site you should probably not show it, do people really need to add "of course it isn't finished yet" to all of their posts commenting on it?

People have been complaining about design elements and the search as if those two things are going to remain the same for launch. I am talking about comments in this thread and the chat during the stream, if that isn't clear.

Seriously, Brad needs to learn to get that stick out of his ass and take some constructive criticism.

People shouldn't have to walk on eggshells just because you might "Upset Brad again". I don't like the new site design, deal with it.

You're right, and I'll apologize again for saying that I really liked the new design choices they were showing us with requests for feedback, specifically these incendiary comments of mine: "The scaling and image gallery look great. Review pages look nice as well. "

Jeff has already mentioned search isn't going to be expanded on for the re-launch as right now they're just focusing on replicating the functionality of the existing site.

So yes, it's a legit thing to bring up so the staff know what features are in demand/to prioritize.

Again : People are commenting at what is being shown, no one are saying everything is going to remain like it is in here, don't give a shit about the chat or the GB forums, that's not what I am reading or commenting at. No one here are assuming there isn't both lots of time to fix things and lots of time to add and change stuff, that much is obvious to anyone watching.

The video pinning feature will be handy for me because often I'll start a video on the homepage scroll down looking at headlines and what not, tab away to Gaf or something and then when I return the Giant Bomb tab I end up clicking a link or refreshing because I forget the video was playing on that page.

It's hard not to notice the difference in professionalism. It reads as a high quality online magazine with beautiful font work, kerning and leading.

I love the personalities at GiantBomb, but I'm definitely disappointed in what they have shown so far for the site redesign. Who knows, maybe they'll blow me away once the final site rolls around.
