I don't - I think it's one of two characters, based on Cryptum and Primordium, but I'm not sure which it would be.
Still, I generally treat a spoiler as being anything the developer does not want us to know before we play. So I'll read/watch this kind of stuff from 343, trusting that they're not spoiling the game in their eyes. When stuff starts leaking, that's when I'll bail out.
(I haven't watched yet. I will later today.)

Now I want to see which type of villain it will be, the generic one who will want to kill humanity because they awaken it or the one who simply do what it wants ignoring the other species because they awaken it.

That quote tells me nothing at all. What kind of document is it? A artbook? A novel? A poster?
What I want is a one line description of what it actually entails, For example:
- "A 60 page book written from the perspective of George Washington" - from the Assassins Creed 3 trailer.
- "The Art of Skyrim' Official Art Book. Featuring over 200 pages of striking, full-color illustrations, sketches and models, this stunning 9 3/8" x 12 1/8" coffee table book showcases the characters, creatures, environments, and weaponry of Skyrim." - Dont know much about Skyrim, but that tells me its a 200 page artbook which is clearly packed with content.
- "Halseys novel, written by Eric Nylund" - Bungie told us that long before the game came out and it hyped me because it was Halseys journal written from Nylund!
I kid you not even Halo Wars LE description is more informative:
"Hardbound Graphic Novel - An all new graphic novel by Phil Noto, Graeme Devine and Eric Nylund. "Halo Wars: Genesis" Chronicles the first military campaign against the Covenant. The novel concentrates on the Spirit of Fire, a ship on a mission to discover why the Covenant are so interest in the world of Harvest."
- here I know im getting a graphic novel, and I know who the authers are.
So you can see why im not exactly happy with the description we have so far? I just dont know what the Briefing Packet entails and as someone who pretty much filters away the digital content and only looks at the physical content... it would be nice to know more about the physical content.
I think you and Frankie both got the wrong impression earlier. Im not saying that the LE is not worth the price. Im simply saying I cant put a value to it because I dont know enough about the contents. Which is why im hesitant to buy it. A one line description along the lines of:
Would probably be enough to entice me, but right now it could be anything, including just pretty much a poster and a few trinkets. Hell I dont even need to know the auther, just tell me what kind of format the information is displayed in, and if it seems like its meaty enough I will want it.
First of all... what makes you think I ever said that in regards to the bolded? I am simply asking for more information on the LTD edition so I can make the decision on whether its worth it for me. Again I think you and Frankie are misreading my posts.
Secondly, its pretty clear there are people here who are buying EVERYTHING and said so themselves, Shadders and Stalker are happily doing just that. Thats fine, good for them. Personally I want more information on the product so I can decide if its worth it. As I said there are two types of people who buy limited edition stuff, people who love the franchise and want to collect no matter what and people who see something in the limited edition which intrigues them, of course there is crossover, it would be nonsensical to think there isnt lol. Of course people who love the franchise also see things in the LTD which intrigue them. I personally am the second type of person though, and I see something intriguing but want to know more about it before taking the plunge.
Im not a collector, as you know im also not into digital content or aesthetics such as avatar awards, armours or weapon skins. Thats why I want to know more about what the Briefing packet is, because it could potentially be cool, and I could potentially happily pay the premium for it. I am not going in without making an informed decision though, and unlike You Shadders or Stalker am not a collector. I would be pretty pissed if I missed out on it if its something cool, but I would hate to throw money at a product which may not be deserving of it, so I just wont take the gamble.
I mean, the only other thing in there that for me is worth the value is the map pack pass, but you can buy that separately for less.
The problem is... I dont know enough to know if the Limited edition has value as a complete package. As far as im concerned 343 still needs to make that clear.
Whats the second disk? Whats the Spartan briefing packet? Those two things alone could be enough to make the limited edition a great buy. Im not arguing with you and saying the LTD edition is not worth buying, im simply saying they need to market it properly. It would absolutely suck if there was something really great on that second disk, or if the briefing packet was really interesting, and I missed out because I didnt want to gamble. Seems straightforward to want clarification on these things so I can make a informed purchase.
Well I know im not alone in wanting information, if you think you have enough information to buy the LE thats absolutely fine, I wont dispute that but personally Ill keep asking for clarification on whats in the LE for myself.

Yea I had Halo 3 spoiled for me by a leak video labeled as MP footage... worst pre launch day for a game I ever had...
I don't think they should necessarily be removed, just saying I won't miss 'em. They mostly promote camping behavior and I can't remember ever having a fun fight against one. Too often it boils down to coming around a corner where some dude is sitting with his shotgun/sword/hammer waiting for you and you're dead instantly. Less ammo and no radar would be a big step into the right direction in my opinion. Doubt either of those things will ever happen though.
Based on the pics, it looks like it has a poster (probably two-sided) and either infocards or booklets.

Not very substantial, maybe, depends on contents. But not anywhere near Halsey's Journal, i think. Would complement it nicely but...

See, the issue with the spoiler thread is it has spoilers from all sources, not just from official 343 pre-release info. I think its fair game to talk about in here, but I also am gonna use spoiler tags that's for sure.
Also, I think if it were that big of a reveal 343 would not tell us.. I bet we find out pretty early in Halo 4 who/what is our enemy. And for all we know there may very well be bigger things in place and this is just one of them.

If it's about anything other than the campaign, I'm all over it. The stuff I read about Halo 3 and Reach, while technically not spoilers, removed a big chuck of mystery that I enjoy with playing the campaign by myself for the first time. Just a personal preference.
I agree that CQC needs an overhaul. Especially the melee weapons.

My logic is that you can either get the Strider and Scanner helmets first and wait for the other Specializations to be unlocked, or you can have all your Specializations unlocked and then wait for all the pre-order bonuses to become available to the public.

That's how I was looking at it until I realized that the specializations you have access to from the LE are kinda weak. I'll have my preferred loadouts before those specializations even become available to me.
They'll let people have access to those specializations a lot sooner than those helmets IMO. So at this point I'm leaning towards canceling my LE preorder just for standard.

By far the best tune yet out of H4. Love it.
Although the Warthog run music will always be "Master Chief's theme" to me.
Edit: gives off a huge Halo Wars vibe there at the end with the piano.

Second disk is Ancient Evil.
Much better. It's less beacuse of the wub wub, and more because I want to hear what the game sounds like, and I couldn't really make those out in the prior video. Weapon sounds are a mixed bag overall, but I love some of the new ones. The gravity hammer and beam rifle sound great.
And note what kinda spoilers you're going to write.

Beam rifle is the only that didn't sound great in that video to me, lost that 'knife edge' lethality sound it had in 3.
Maybe direct sound is better.
