Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
I haven't even looked at the Street pass stuff on my 3DS. I don't even know what it is.
You should, it's a pretty awesome feature.

He's a marketing guy. Of course he's allowed to redefine terms however he pleases and in this case "major touted feature" = "killer app".I'm assuming he knows what it means but the term killer app is pushing it.
Oh GAF, your cynicism on all things promising never ceases to amaze.
Didn't he think WiiMusic was a killer app?
How is this gonna help 3rd party games sell on the WiiU?

In a lot of cases, it's thoroughly earned.
vita having facebook and twitter was definitely a killer app. but since this social network has the whimsy i can see how it could be different
Sounds good, but then again, Wii Speak sounded like a neat idea too.
At least for me! Almost bought one!
That's part of it.Miiverse is going to be like Dark Souls isn't it? That's my interpretation of it.
WaraWara, mostly. It's hard to explain, watch the pre-E3 Nintendo Direct. How is this gonna help 3rd party games sell on the WiiU?
When people hook up and make babies, they are future gamers.
If done well... easily
"Oh look bob and Terry are playing Bayonetta.. I wonder what that is"
*Link to download demo*
"Oh interesting, I bet junior might like it for his birthday"
If PS Home has proven anything it's that the only people who use this kind of social networking on their videogame console are scumbags and crazy people. And lots of furries.

Reggie said:- even with Wii U being sold out at multiple retailers, there will be more available launch day
It'd help if they showed off their online implementation. It's ridiculous that they're launching in seven weeks and we don't know details still.
With that said, I wound up really enjoying StreetPass so if Mii-verse is anything close to that I'm sure I'll like it too.
Home and Miiverse are almost nothing alike though.
It's the Mitt Romney approach to console selling.
How is this gonna help 3rd party games sell on the WiiU?
You can say I'm lazy, because I just copy/paste the title of the original sourceNot really. I don't know how many times I've seen ZombiU = Red Steel when the ONLY similarity is Ubisoft and launching on a Nintendo system. Most of the time it's people complaining just for the sake of it or people like the OP who twist comments to make controversial threads.
He said A killer app. One among others. Somehow that translated to it being the Wii U's killer app....
Yet they still haven't showed any of it.
Perfect marketing campaign, Nintendo. "We have the greatest online infrastructure and social networking features of them all! But you can't see it yet, just take our word for it!"
I guess Nintendo's Obama one would be "In the last 3 generations we haven't really proven that we can get you good third party support... but this time for sure!"
Not when there a mandatory approval time spanning weeks for those posts. Displays a fundamental lack of understanding of what makes a social network tick.Miiverse really is going to be Nintendo's next big thing. I can totally see this.
They are already doing community forums and game groups with Steam. I don't see the appeal of a Nintendo service that may not even match multiplayer features on Xbox Live or simple forum features of something like Steam.
That's a joke, right?

DOA unless that changes.
Come on, guys, you're reading too much into it, it's Reggie, he would try to hype the Sensor bar calibration screen if you gave him a chance.
social networking being a killer app? yes thats a joke
Except there is no "approval time". As usual with Nintendo topics, it was nothing blown way out of proportion. If messages get flagged several times, they're automatically hidden and checked by a mod. That's it.Not when there a mandatory approval time spanning weeks for those posts. Probably the day before launch or something. So how close to launch do we get before they debut the online service?
