Doesn't the tech specs on the english Wii U website mention USB Hard Drives?

EDIT: USB Storage.

Wii U uses an internal flash memory (8 GB with the Basic Set; 32 GB with the Deluxe Set) for data storage. It also supports external USB storage.

Bought one in sale a few months ago only for the Wii U, can't return it if it doesn't work. D:

I bought a new 3TB Hard drive (that has a separate power adaptor) JUST for this occasion last week... partitioned it into 2 parts, one in NTFS 2TBs, and the other in FAT32 with the remaining 1TB, I doubt I would need the whole 3TB for this thing

It'll support USB powered harddrives. The Wii did after all (for USB Loader at least).

Awesome if the Wii did it I'm sure the Wii U will too! Thanks feeling more confident in pulling the trigger now!

Because like "What are you playing?" and "News this week" sections on podcasts, unboxing videos are an easy and hassle free way to generate content
in the absence of anything interesting to say.

If I get a Wii U, I think ill go for white. Something about the black looks off to me, and I have a really low tolerance for fingerprints.

Must admit, the whole fingerprint thing is making me somewhat reluctant about my deluxe, but not like I was planning to hold the sytem a lot, but the uPad WILL be smeared like hell

I was trying to think about this, and already remember how bad I feel when I use my Vita in daylight because of all the smudges.

At least I have blinds in my room to make it dark enough so I can't tell lol

If there was a problem with enough power on the Wii U usb ports, maybe you could just get a cheap usb cable with 2 ends on it to connect to 2 ports (power and data).

I exactly know how you feel but the Deluxe set is just too good to let it pass

I totally don't understand having a glossy controller. It makes absolutely no sense to me. I can understand if the console is glossy because you're not gonna be touching that a lot but make the damn controller matte all around. It's gonna look gross after a few play sessions.

Yes, I don't know its official name so I call it the PS3 Slim 2: Slim Harder. It makes me a bit scared to see the Wii U next to a launch PS3, though.

Yeah I have to agree with the glossy observation. Happy I got a basic. The black pro controller looks like it would be a pretty big offender in this regard.

Launch day is so close. I think I'm actually going to stop by GameStop tomorrow and finish paying off my system since I'll be in the area. Just to make sure the pick up goes as quickly as possible so I can get home faster to connect the system.

I wonder if the lack of negative buzz around Zombi U means it's good. It would be so weird if, come November 13th, the game gets a ton of negative reviews.

When these systems (including the Wii U, probably) format the external HDDs, can they format just a partition? Or do they have to format the whole unit? I'd like to use my PC back-up HDD if possible.

Likewise. I did a pre-order at Best Buy and I'm hoping they do a midnight release so I can get it, DL the day one patch, and be ready to go.

Do the newest PS3 slims use an internet or external power supply? That always bugged me about console size comparisons with the fat and slim both having internal power, and that should be taken into account.

Wow. I cant believe how little some of the Giantbomb guys knew about the Wii U before they unboxed it.

The senor bar in the Gamepad was in the very first video for goodness sakes.

It's not really a surprise if you've listened to their podcasts. They are, for the most part, disinterested and when they talk about it they hardly know anything. At least that should change now.

The ign article talked about using the gamepad to control your TV, which is great and all, but considering all inputs and volume control are controlled directly through my receiver, is there any word if the gamepad can handle that? Would be great to use it as a truly universal home theater remote for everything.

But still, at least they didn't wear a hat indoors. That was awful etiquette and I almost had a seizure when I saw it.
