I understand, but honestly, in this case, yes.

I don't trust most reviewers today, and when numbers appear to be all over the map from one source to the next, it makes me do a little more research on the sources. 92/7/4.5 warrant more research for this game.
They aren't all over the map. The current low score and the current high score are equidistant from the mean.

Lets put these on the same scale and take the mean
92+70+45/3 = 69

92-69 = 23
69-45 = 24

zombi u was one of my most eagerly awaited games this year prior to mixed reviews.

Are you suggesting that reviewers only review one genre of game? We both may enjoy the game more than this reviewer, we both may not, but he is absolutely qualified to review it.

No, but they do specialize in a genre. As for being "qualified", that is debatable, clearly. I think there was probably someone more qualified at GS. Which brings me back to my original point.

You won't give it up. Ami pretty much destroyed your opening argument. Time to step away from the table. Stop trying to say this guy is not qualified to write a review.

Not agreeing with him is fine but attempting to discredit him is not.

The twist:

London gets nuked, the nuke does not kill the zombies but mutates them. Creates all short of weird creatures, some with strange tentacle stuff and other features. Also some have some sorts of abilities.

in the UK zombi u is bundled with the system. It is going to be bought by a wider range of people than your average survival horror title. How is it not fair for it to get reviewed by someone who occasionally enjoys the genre?

I'd say a 7 from edge is good not average

A 7 from edge is what many publications would call a 9. And that goes double when there's "skepticism" involved. That is, edge has a reason to be skeptical due to an experimental game concept, peripheral, etc. Wii U would probably qualify there.

If we're going to have evil bad review numbers, then in a sane world where PR manipulation hadn't ruined everything, a 6 really would be above average aka "this game is pretty fun", so a 7 would be quite good.

10/100 points is too wide a spread anyway though. A five star rating system would probably work better, where most good games would only ever get three stars, and two stars would be considered "ok".

So you are saying that a 4.5 is an inflated score?

I though ZombiU is/was going to be one of the most interesting launch titles. I haven't played the game yet though. Nothing about my opinion has changed because of the reviews. A long time ago I realized that reviews are just that reviews.

Interesting. More specifically, are you getting a Wii U?

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about Rayman Legends Wii U.
This is what makes me question his review. It sounds like to me the guy ran through the game, dying over and over, barely collecting resources which resulted in him losing the limited allotment of bullets given to each new character and getting stuck with using the cricket bat as a result. Maybe the puzzles do suck, as well as the story. I don't know. But what it sounds like he did is basically the same as running through Dishonored acting like it is an action game instead of a stealth game, which would give you a completely different result in enjoyment levels.

As for the complaints towards the game being better tied to a traditional gamepad instead of the Gamerpad, I've play enough to know my personal preference on the aspect will be completely different.
This is exactly what I think as well. From what i've seen in the previews, there is a lot of hidden stuff that you can collect throughout the game. If you're conservative and accurate with your shots, I bet you can keep many weapons going if you actually care about staying alive.

The review also starts with a faulty premise: being reckless kills you, so you're better off using your cricket bat, because it's easier to pull one zombie away over and over and keep killing them one by one.

How about actually learning to be proficient in killing them? Shoot them in the legs, get them on the floor, curb stomp them. Done. Knock off the zombie's helmet with your bat, switch to a gun, shoot them in the face. Done. Last one in the group? Murder him with your cricket bat in all your remaining rage. Done. I've seen so many previews where killing them is made faster without simply using the cricket bat. I think he is contributing to his own problem with the game, like a mindless idiot. He also states that the amount of hits from the bat it takes to kill a zombie is random. I remember a preview that stated that it all depends on the power you put behind the swing, and how accurately you hit them.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say with will be a solid 7-8.5 game that will get some extremes on either side. I'll wait for more reviews, but I've seen too many good design choices in my coverage of this game to admit that the only thing you do in the game is hit shit with cricket bats.

Is this an attempt to discredit my statements about you bashing a reviewer because you don't like his score? Interesting way to take the argument. How is this relevant at all?

I will be getting a WiiU. I usually buy every console.

I don't need to discredit him. He discredits himself, and that is my opinion. I will not trust a review from someone who does not spend the majority of his time in the genre of the game reviewed. You can, I won't.

Can you please respect that, and stop saying that I "won't give up"? It is my opinion, thanks.

Translation: Someone who would have given the game a better review.because I have a feeling that as long as the score is in the same ballpark, the reviewer will remain " not the most qualified person." No, the metric is the alignment with our unverified impressions.

No, you are discrediting him. It's a dangerous opinion to attempt to say someone is not fit for their job by selecting some slice of his review history.

You seem to have a problem with this concept.

How do you know how he spends the majority of his time? Do you think his 90% of his playing games is pent with fighting games? You don't think he plays other types of games?

Better yet, you don't think someone that reviews fighting games would be a good judge of gameplay mechanics? Because I'd probably trust the fighting game guy to give me detailed and accurate account of a games (in any genre) gameplay, since that's the NUMBER ONE thing fighting games need to be good at and it takes a strong, critical eye to judge a fighting games mechanics and determine if they're good or not.

Either way, your "opinion" you keep trying to pass off as fact has been broken down into little insignificant pieces. Just be honest with yourself and others: You don't like the score he gave and wanted a better one. It's okay.

that is a major reason why I wanted Rich [IGN] to review the game. Instead Greg got the job but it seem he is a fan of the genre..

You spent way too much time focusing on me and my opinion about the reviewer, which smelled of someone already on the "I am not getting a Wii U because it sucks" bandwagon, and simply came into this thread to rub in the fact that ZombiU was getting a bad score to prove that Nintendo fans were stupid for being hyped for the game... guess I was wrong.... My apologies.

So, you are getting a Wii U.... congrats!

Woops. It seems like I've stumbled into the wrong thread. I thought we were here to talk about the game, not review controversy.

Can someone create a review thread so we can clean this shit up?

Well, you're being a bully with your logic and reason. He'd really like you to leave so him and everyone else can look for things to focus on and discredit the review in question. As more reviews trickle out that aren't positive, it'll be the same for them too.
