And yes, the update will automatically start, same think happened with the launch update when you "decline" it.

Did you go to System Update through the Settings? That's not how you do it. It would've just started downloading in the background, in download management. You're stuck now.

Well based on what they have said. Nintendo can kill your access to wii mode anyways if an update is pending and you don't take it.

I wouldn't be expecting many speed improvements.
If i were to take a guess, i'd say everything's slow because they're hiding 'connection' screens for most of the apps. Just like how the 'always on' Wii had to connect for everything.

In other words, cause their programmers are poop. Vita's system functions and apps are considerably faster at every damn thing and with less resources - it shouldn't be rocket science!
