I hope a new thread gets created to discuss the Bioshock Infinite gameplay. Would be a very interesting discussion.

It's an award show, not E3. The reactions here are hilarious. What were you guys expecting? :/

Well when a producer of the show says to expect five brand new game announcements, and another says to expect a glimpse into next gen and a retro revival, that's usually what you expect.

I can't believe what a poor showing BioShock Infinite had.

- Awful framerate
- 2nd-class animation
- The exact same type of gameplay we've seen in older previews
- Confusing gameplay segment

y'all should be ashamed
Which sort Dark Souls is. Old school type game, part 3. Although misleading as hell, most people actually are annoyed at the 5 announcements thing. Someone, ANYONE having the link to that? Otherwise people should stop posting that.

As it turns out it was Mark Burnett, the exec producer who said that and not Geoff.

Unless there's a twitter post I'm missing.

Anyone complaining about Geoff over hyping for nothing needs to have their head examined. What else does he do?

He should not be given a platform to do it anymore, other places .. Like sites that make shit up for clicks are banned from GAF ...... Geoff is a walking, talking version of these.

Walking Dead's win was absolutely deserved. Good on them.
This year's VGAs was a huge improvement over last year's calamity. No tea-bagging means automatic elevation from total embarrassment.

So... anyone make a gif of Cello girl, to go with Violin one? XD

That who show... wasn't as bad as it could of been! I like the respect given to gaming music throughout it all. Nice to see Dust: AET get a bit more attention, too.

I wonder if it's worth it, for someone like Kojima to come all the way out to the US for something like that.. I guess only if Phantom Pain is the other side of MGS.

Ok, I think that Geoff and Spike need to understand that "revealing" something, means showing something that was "hidden" before.

When people hear there are gonna be "Reveals", they expect to see or hear about something that either wasn't announced, shown, or you know... already revealed.

Also: Phantom Pain? They had to waste a potential unveiling for MGS viral marketing? Really?

It looks like Mark Burnett may be behind the expectation of five reveals? USA Today quotes him as saying:

"For hard-core gamers this is the first place you will ever see those new games," says the show's executive producer Mark Burnett. "Imagine if the Academy Awards was on and they announced five movies that no one has ever heard of. That is the equivalent. You will be on a rip-roaring, two-hour ride of television."

He may have oversold it.

Just a little.

We were expecting the things that were teased as a method of hyping the show.

Multiple Spike representatives directly stated announcements would be there, that were not present. They promised & didn't deliver.

Either something was cut for time (unlikely, since nothing in the show seemed to go long & was overall very scripted), or Spike can be accused of false advertising.

IT WASN'T GEOFF!

It was Mark Burnett!

Regardless of whether or not Geoff was the source of the 5 games things it doesn't change the fact that there was no surprise retro game revival.

And no, Dark Souls 2 is not a retro game revival. That makes literally zero sense.

Twist: Geoff is right, Dark Souls II was rendered 80% in engine.

Dun dun dun.

that would seriously convince me to play this game. Even though the whole "masochism, yay!" is not something I would want to play.

(and haven't, so far. I should probably try to get demon souls somewhere on the cheap)

The Bioshock Infinite trailer / demo looked good (consoles, people!), but I guess a bit 'all too familiar' having played the previous games. The framerate shouldn't be an issue on a PC anyway, and the gameplay does look as good as ever. Just familiar.

Wow, they never actually did say most anticipated game despite talking about it in the pre-show. They forgot? Hahaha.

Look at how he worded it. He said it would be a surprise for old-school game fans.

Dark/Demon's Souls have been described as old-school type games and it was a surprise.

It fit perfectly. He just intentionally worded it so everyone would imagine something different from the wording.
