lol. Sorry i wanted to bring some positive talk about my favorite new game back here. I hated hated hated reach. Over 3 years I only had 3 total days of play time. I'm getting close in a month of that with halo 4. Sorry I'm having fun :p

My total is a bit over 3 days for reach, so like you I am getting way more time in on halo 4. I didn't even play a full 500 games of matchmaking in halo reach and I'm already over 300 on halo 4.

I never liked MLG playlists, and couldn't give a shit about slayer pro. Sure I'd prefer some more game types but nothing is perfect, and I don't ever expect to meet that high of online fun that I have had with Halo 2.
I enjoy pro slayer. I wish invis, PV, and jetpacks were wiped clean from the game. Having said that, the DMR is so good at distance, invis is practically a must in BTB. Would love to see the DMR removed from play altogether or the BR buffed to 4 shot kills. And then perhaps just remove the light rifle; that thing confuses me every time. I'd like pro slayer to be limited to just one loadout. Make everyone either use the DMR, or make everyone use the BR. But don't put both in the game. Static pickups wouldn't bother me either, but I just don't have confidence that 343 will do that. They should reinstate respawn timers and add a red X too, at least for pro slayer. And ditch the name already! It's intimidating to new players.

just beat the same team twice in TR. Their comment against me? "Dude ain't even got 6 thousand kills. He sucks."
Oh man, I thought kids comparing K/D ratios in this day and age was pathetic enough, but kids are comparing total kills now? LOL

Haha I enjoyed Gemini. Even bad maps from halo2 are better than most of halo 3's maps, and all of reach's maps.
It was an okay Oddball and KOTH map, I guess. But Slayer on that? Turned into that Adrift match every single time once a team got control of the outside edge and snipe. People were super afraid to push into there because two (!!) shotguns were available to the outside defenders, one by each loud-ass door, and the sniper was just a quick teleport grab away.

They should have closed the outside off, with the bottom teleporter putting you on the tree.

Seems like i couldn't have joined the PC race at a better time.
I should've skipped Reach too
. This is what MLG Halo has been reduced too? Crouch walking, radar, sprint, perks, kill streaks, awful maps 5sk, join in progress, no ranking system and 0-0 slayers? Christ.....

:'(

lol this was in no way MLG Halo

Seriously, FUCK the netcode in this game. FUCK!

I've been trying, but it's impossible to play.. I can't get ONE match with good latency. It's like 343 took everything that worked in Reach's netcode and threw it into the garbage.

Never been this frustrated with a game netcode since Halo 3.. It takes away all my will to play.

Doubt it's the netcode. Haven't had a laggy match in days.

SHOCKING TWIST: Maybe it's your connection!

I'm not sure 100%, but I don't think you can put netcode in a garbage can.

That's a major knee-jerk reaction to a non-mlg tournament video

It's the fact that skill matching is given a much higher weighting than in Reach (due to 'trueskill' complaints), which means it will sacrifice connection for skill.

My connection hasn't changed, I was having very few laggy games in Reach, in Halo 4 I've noticed a LOT more lag than I ever have had with Reach.

Edit: even taking into account host record changes.

I'm not sure if I'm imagining it... but the hit registration seems a bit 'off' compared to Reach as well?

Lol at all those people who said "I'm bored of MLG settings, three weapons, symmetrical maps and proper weapon spawns. MLG is boring to watch. They should play out the box settings or as close as possible".

That 0-0 game is why you don't play vanilla or close to vanilla settings, in Halo, for money; when played by the most skilled/competitive players, the settings fall apart.

This is just my opinion and I could be wrong but I feel that bloom in Halo Reach covered up the inevitable holes that occur in p2p matchmaking. "My shots aren't registering!"......

"Nah dude, you're just not timing your shots. Pace the trigger, wait for the bloom to reset then fire again"... Reach's netcode was pretty sterling in spite of bloom until around the time 343 took over and the TU dropped; I'm sure they changed the servers or something because the connections were seldom as stable after that.

My big problem with Halo 4 online is the DMR's final shot. The first four shots register perfectly then you shoot them in the head, once, twice sometimes three times and it won't register. This only happens with the DMR. Is it bloom or what? It happens practically every game but I have solid video evidence on my fileshare of one particular instance. I shoot him in the head a few times, switch weapons confident that he's dead by then but NO, he's still alive and I have to switch back to finish him,

I don't know. The players in that game were just bad in my opinion. Having too many AA's and radar doesn't help, though.

I get what you're trying to say, but the game in question is a terrible example of how vanilla settings fall apart.

All they did was to camp at spawn. Anyone could've done that... in any game mode ever created.

If rockets spawned in the centre, and respawned every three minutes, that wouldn't have happened. Random global ordnance doesn't work competitively. I don't think it even works casually, actually.

Exactly. There was very little reason to leave the base - if one team pushed to the other base, they would be killed very easily.

I went back and played some Halo 3 today.Team BRs on the Pit is everything I remembered. The initial rush for Rockets, knowing what the other team has at all times, no crappy AAs that cheat you out of a kill... So good.

The Pit is what I was thinking of when making that post. Standoffs and stalemates occurred on that map in Slayer, when two teams playing for money didn't want to give an inch. The difference though, is that instead of the entire 12 minutes being dead, stalemates didn't last longer than three minutes because the rockets were up and that engineered a confrontation between the two teams; the winner of which would then have the confidence to push with a power weapon. If the winner of rockets elected to camp green/longhall on their side of the map that was because they had a lead and then the other team has an incentive to push because they'll lost of the don't redress the score deficit. Halo.

These sexy Halo shoes are up for pre-order on Waypoint for $70.

It doesn't fill me with confidence that even in this promo shot you can see how haphazardly they've been glued together.

They each had their share of good/decent ones, but for the most part they were complete poop. Halo 2 had duds like Gemini and Backwash, but everything else was really good for at least one skirmish gametype.

Basically since then it's been slayer everywhere.

Had some great games of CTF tonight. JiP seems to be much better... Every game I joined hadn't already started which was a nice change.

I'm actually excited for the new maps tomorrow. Just hope the download isn't too big

Guys lag will get better once the game figures out the connections Frankie has said so. Game just came out give it time to start working right.

Does anyone else think that we'll get a SpartanOps mission set in Infinity? From the VGA trailer it looked like the Covenant invaded Infinity through the artifact.

You'll probably be sent to some dusty red canyon on Requiem instead to destroy a node that is receiving information from the invading Covenant party while Castle/Majestic/Everyone Else is in Infinity cleaning up the Covenant.
