Best soda.

Heh, my parents live in Salisbury (where Cheerwine was invented). I always drink it with a nice chopped barbecue sandwich.

One of my close HS/college friends used to date the Cheerwine VP's daughter. She'd bring free Cheerwine to our dorm rooms all the time.

Ever had a Cheerwine doughnut from Krispy Kreme? The one in Salisbury made them fresh.

no custom config because of button glitches ---> button glitches anyways.

no ranking system cause cheaters ---> cheaters anyways.

i cant even make this shit up.

Reach MLG > Halo 4
Not that I'm going back, though. I'd rather go back to Halo 3 which is actually enjoyable even when you're not pooping on kids who are playing the game using their feet.

I know someone who actually plays with their feet and he can waste most of HaloGaf's trash at Halo.

I was just watching my bro put in his specialization code, mind you he's a lvl 1 first time starting up H4. Well I noticed he had Locus helmet, Scanner, Strider and Hazop FRST armor set(one from Gamestop I believe) unlocked from the start.

Now this isn't normal is it to have those unlocked with the specialization code? Maybe being level 1 is why.

Edit: I gave him my extra specialization code.

I know people are probably getting tired of blackops talk, but shit needs to be discussed that we want in Halo.

In Blackops 2 theater mode has surpassed Halo now. Not only can you select clips from a video and splice them together, but there is now a "auto montage" mode that selects clips instantly from gameplay, rates them and runs you through them were you can do final "editing."

Also, you can view from first person of anyone playing. Also, auto youtube upload in HD for free and all that.

How in the world COD actually surpassed Halo in something that Halo did first is astounding to me.

With you all the way. Halo 5 needs to blow the competition away in terms of features.

Haven't played Blops 2 so just hearing about this - but this is just sad. All the broken things in Halo 4 (Especially Forge - so depressed when the map I was working on got glitched lighting at 5400 budget) just make me sad/angry to be a Halo fan.

Well... there's always Destiny next year. I hope it's as revolutionary as Halo CE (and the additions in Halo 3) were.

This is what Halo does need in films, though. Not really an auto montage maker but at least have the option to show bookmarks in the film where you killed someone / died / killed with a specific weapon, capped a flag, etc.

There should also be a debug button that displays spawn points and spawn zones in the film and displays the weights of each spawn above the spawns.

Wrap it all together by finally bringing the Bungie.net Gameviewer right into the game. Bring up a game and you can look at all the kill lines in actual 3D free cam, then if you press A on a kill line you're taken to a clip of that kill.

343 had very strange priorities when making this game, IMO. So many steps backward or sideways.

It's as they flinched during production.

Comes down to multiple studios trying to forge (didn't mean to use this) a Halo game together, with people that have the understanding and background to create video games but not a true understanding or knowledge of Halo and the core itself.

Halo 6 will nail it for sure.
It's shitty that we are in a position where we are waiting for a next game to add shit that should of been in this game.

Maybe it's entitlement but as nice as forward unto dawn was that budget could of been used making the game better. Id of been happy with a longer dev time if it mean a wealth more custom options. Better forge, better theatre more advanced and dynamic spartan ops missions. Firefight.

The list of things id change is huge but Halo 4 has let me down more than reach did. At least with reach it can be put down to bungie trying something new. 343 was aware of the dying completive community. Halo 4 does things right don't misunderstand me. The campaign was pitch perfect at points and the only let down for me was the shittty QTE ending.

But the multiplayer has definitive flaws or at the very least the game types and maps do.

No skill ranks and the apparent lack of support for multiple niche and not so niche groups is a serious issue.

Couple that with omitted features for no reason and the various broken weapons and features it's not hard to see why the community is angry about the game

The lack of wording and assurance from 343 regarding these issue while they continue to push media about more big team generic looking maps is dreadful

Yeah, I'm hoping this dev cycle was as rough as Halo 2 to be honest. It would explain a lot and give more hope to Halo 5.

Also, with a lot of the haters they make an excellent point with the COD/Halo comparison.

COD really does keep it "COD" while making very minor tweaks. Halo has been trying to reinvent itself the last few iterations. That might help explain CODs constant success. It's basically doing a "Madden" approach to the game.

Halo now has itself in a very weird predicament. Does it "commit" to the new changes or go back and improve on everything about the "old" core game play.

At some point Halo lost "itself" and now it's standing at in the middle of an intersection not knowing which way it should go. The last few weeks I've literally watched Halo walk in the footsteps of Gears of war. I'm getting Deja-vu from last year around this time. From the game itself and mechanics making the game "suck." To broadcasters/pros and how they react, and steep viewership declines.

Gears/Halo were/are my two favorite franchises on Xbox aside from Ghost Recon. Ghost Recon to anyone following that franchise know it's "dead" as of the last game (especially as of the last game). I really, really hate to see Gears/Halo go down this road.

Experienced this on a match of Regicide.

Head-ache inducing.

What's going on in that picture? Was your view stuck in a 3x zoom?

This. I'll admit I enjoy the game - but in the month that it's been out I've played it very little. I enjoy it when I do play it (for the short intervals that I do play) but I don't really feel drawn back to it necessarily. I think part of it is that it's just so vastly different from what it used to be. It's fun (at times) but it's just not really Halo.

What!??? Ok thats cool.

Man we dont even have render to video anymore. Render to youtube needs to happen with Halo 5.

Half the multiplayer and the entire Forge mode was created by Certain Affinity and 343 still has trouble getting baseline features into the game. I don't get it. What were those 300 people doing during those 3 to 4 years?

Pretty much exactly how I feel.

It sounds like modded customs in Halo 4 might be better than MLG Reach, though. Isn't it awesome that we have to rely on banned modding techniques to play classic Halo in Halo 4? smh

Gears is still very much Gears IMO. What killed the online was sawed-off, that alone ruined the game for tons of my friends who loved Gears 1/2. I hope it doesn't return in Judgment.

Halo on the other hand...well it definitely is something else now.

You know, I was never really a big Gears MP fan until GoW3. I felt I had much better chance of survival and doing well in that game than any other.

Maybe Gears Appealed to me in the way that Halo 4 is appealing to some people now.

on a side note i'm getting some excitement to jump back into that world with GoW:J

Uhm, those 300 people didn't actually all work on the game. There are different teams within the studios (Example: merchandising, publishing and more). The fact that they had to get another studio to work on the game already tells you they did not have enough manpower on their own.
