They removed slayer pro?

lol

It is returning early next year with more "competitive tweaks", digest that how you will. Personally I look at rotating out an unpopular playlist and making comment about supporting a reworked version of it after their own online tournament as a good thing.

Others obviously just like to complain.

1. Smaller Maps, Community Created Maps
bsAngel: Yup! In early 2013. Our first focus will be 4v4, then we'll look at 2v2.

2. Ranking System
bsAngel: There is not a date associated with CSR yet.

3. Playlists such as Team Doubles, Grifball, Optimized Slayer Pro, Possible MLG
bsAngel: We're targeting early 2013 for the first three. They won't be released at the same time, though.

4. *Speculation* Possible weapon rebalance
bsAngel: No hard news on this at this time. Sorry.

You would be right, except for there is no logical reason why they couldn't do tweaks on the go. Taking it out just to say it will be back in 2013, without some on-the-go tweaks they could have done to resurge and maintain the "competitive" community's interest sounds stupid. It's not like they haven't had enough time, or enough suggestions from the community.

Also, they're not rotating anything back in next week, just letting the Crimson DLC playlist rock.

It seems like the only reason they deaded it is to give Infinity Challenge some shine. Plus it's not the ONLY playlist that almost nobody plays. The distribution between playlists is pretty dramatic.

Every industry is like this. KFC get sales with popcorn chicken and McDonald bring in McBites. Mobile phone apps take off with Apple then Google and Microsoft copy.

The point is in any business it is always easier to steal market share rather than create a new market to be a leader in for the short term gains.

No need to cry about chasing market share, I think we've seen enough of those posts in here.

Except the McBites were still fried chicken nuggets, the phone apps were still applied to phones.

Halo 4 is like if McDonalds said, "Hey look, their fried chicken nuggets are doing great, so lets use the batter on our BigMac!"

They're missing the mark. Halo and Call of Duty are not two pieces of chicken; one was a steak. A steak that they are now trying to batter and deep fat fry which sounds delicious to fat kids who don't know any better, but really just makes the steak chewy and unappetizing.

Health regenerator field, Instant respawns, a big slap to gnasher fans making the rifles more powerful (thank god), Fall from the maps, one button COD grenade system, boomshield with primary weapons, instant pick ups, way to go People can fly.

Actually epic did that. PCF are only doing campaign.

From what I see they aren't just simple tweaks e.g. MLG trial setting with 4SK BR is inconsistent. To me that will take developer code changes, testing, bug fixing, sandbox rebalancing, more developer iteration, more testing then certification then release. You know what a proper company does over what modders do.

They are bringing in the tournament playlist though and we did just get a map pack 5 weeks after release.

Take a look at Blizzard tournaments, they don't do a hell of a lot so they give "shine" to their global tournament. Wheels are moving over at 343i, can't deny that.

That's just bending analogies to fit your outcome, for lack of a better way to say it, which is bad science. I do agree some playlists require the full classic experience, what that is exactly is subjective at best.

When I saw that there was going to be a interview with J. Holmes in the Bulletin I thought it would be good.. Man, was I wrong...

So many things to ask, and she asks the most terrible questions.

343 seems to have a policy of never admitting to having any actual development problems, cuts, or rushed features of any kind, and I'm getting pretty sick of it. Everything's perfect all the time, and if it's not, we're working hard on it and we'll see you in Early 2013, enjoy these pictures of a truck!

I feel comfortable with saying this is truly a great game.

A great game, but just an okay Halo.

I bet the concept art for that truck looks amazing though.

this is the worst mappack in halo history.
Harvest plays so strange with the left side / right side thing that's happening.
Wreckage is camo hiding in bloom and too big.
Shatter is confusing as hell and too big.

Will not buy these maps after this trial. Complete crap

Doing any of the things you listed could potentially harm shareholder confidence. Why exactly do you think any 343 employee would be permitted to do those things?

I have to agree that my game connection quality has been better this week too! A little slower to match but that is perfectly fine and expected to get Aussie games, kudos 343i and thanks for the locality tweaks.

Years ago Intel self admitted a flaw in their CPU's mathematics and they were doing the biggest recall in history for processors. The flaw and admitting it was an a massive scale but marketing regard it as possibly one of the best moves Intel could never pay for that quality marketing.

See the media and customers responded to the proactive admission and having a fix in place immediately. It went down in marketing circles as the top 5 brand marketing experiences at the time.

Nothing wrong with admitting fault but have a plan to put things back on track.

What if they didn't have any problems and it's perfectly fine in their opinion for realsies?

ever consider that?

Is it actually his birthday this time? lol

It is not, and I know this looks like an error, but what is actually happening is anyone who "buys into" the joke and wishes Heckfu a happy birthday within the next two weeks is automatically part of our "buy and play" promotion. So congratulations! You will get free access to Heckfu posts until Dec. 19.

I did consider that but I find it comforting to think there is even a single person at 343 who is good at a videogame or likes a good videogame lol

Gotta be kidding, I just Paypal'd heckfu $10 for his next 3 posts.

This is bullshit, I paid for access to heckfu's posts a month ago!

Don't worry. Dec. 19th, after everyone else has stopped reading Heckfu's posts, you'll still have access to them. You didn't miss out on anything!

This is bullshit, I paid for access to heckfu's posts a month ago!

What you were really paying for was the Limited Edition Heckfu Birthday Pack that included rare, flimsy pieces of paper that said "Happy Birthday Heckfu" on them. The access to Heckfu's posts is just a free gift from us!

EDIT:

Everybody involved in the decision to add flinch to Halo, or the approval of that decision, should be forced to place their dick and/or tits in a wood-chipper.

It is, bar none, the worst festering piece of shit mechanic to ever be added to ANY Halo game, ever. And that includes armor lock.

I mean I'm not expecting them to constantly be talking about all the development problems they're having or anything, but compare what's going on now to, say, the making-of DVD from the Halo 2 LE. It's okay to be honest about what's going on surrounding the game while still supporting it and being positive of what you've made. Every Bulletin seems filled with "we're amazed by the response to the game, thanks so much" without any hint that there are plans to address complaints.

Again, I'm not aasking for a detailed list of everything being looked at for the next TU, but just acknowledging that there are any balance tweaks at all would be a good place to start. The Crimson MP is another example, instead of a real explanation and apology or whatever, we just get near-direct copy and paste of Microsoft PR's spin on the "14 Day Buy and Play" thing that got invented yesterday.

I guess my point overall is that 343's interactions, in the Bulletin, at least, seem more like PR spin than actual, genuine communication. And after Bungie, that kinda sucks.
What if they didn't have any problems and it's perfectly fine in their opinion for realsies?

The other possibility is that 343 actually thinks everything's "good enough," which is way worse imo.

You forgot the people involved with the decision to make the super-soldier Spartan's melee reach equivalent to that of of new-born flipper-baby.

And the people responsible for matchmaking that puts you on a team of people with negative k/D averages against a full team of dudes with a K/D average of 4.0

Oh, and the undergrad students they let program the online code.

Yea I love how they say that line like its a good thing too lol.

I DONT WANT FUCKING CHANGE. IF I WANTED CHANGE I WOULD JUST GO PLAY A DIFFERENT GAME.
They handed the series to a brand new developer with the goal of breathing new life into it. 343 is taking a different approach, ie. not the same.

This aint Bungie. We always knew this. And I don't mind the salt nearly as much as the denial.

Yoga pants are always a good thing though.

Your first post since January, and this is what you go with?
How would you even put your dong in a woodchipper?

Turn on woodchipper, insert dong? Although it'd have to be more like "insert pelvis" since the intake is so big

Are people mad about flinch because it's easier to shoot through than descoping? Because I don't fucking get it otherwise.

I hate it because it's completely random. Descoping wasn't amazing, but it was consistent. This is just an unpredictable mechanic.
