SMH, I wonder if Halo is going to go this route as well.
The insane power of the rifles, the fact grenade is on a button and everyone gets one, no downing, reticle when not hardaiming, primary weapon when using boomshield, automatic "sniper" as a loadout etc.
The fact you think that looked like normal gears tells me you're not really into gears.
There's more wrong than just no downing.

Well after watching it yeah I see that. I was just assuming that was you meant at first haha. I'm still interested in campaign and MP if there is Execution with traditional rules, but I'm not feeling FFA.

To be fair I picked up CoD Black Ops 2 last week for $37 new from Go-Hasting, it's towards the end of the generation and prices are getting cheaper and cheaper.

It's a commendation, it has no medal, it is not worth the effort.
Besides that I was already burnt with Reach I don't really touch H4 and when I do it's not for long, I hit SR70 in a rush, but there are too many things that I take issue with the game for me to endure playing it for long. Reach was the stress test and for Halo 4 I don't feel much besides apathy.

I've been playing some of the THQ humble bundle games off and on, mostly Saints Row 3.
I thought the fileshares were supposed to be up and running in December? Now we have to wait until "early 2013"? "Early" can mean anything.

I'm sure the people working at 343i are nice, but as a whole the company is nothing more than Microsoft's bitch trying to rake in the cash in any way possible. And right now, devs seem to think that the only way to get money is to try and emulate CoD.

Every industry is like this. KFC get sales with popcorn chicken and McDonald bring in McBites. Mobile phone apps take off with Apple then Google and Microsoft copy.
The point is in any business it is always easier to steal market share rather than create a new market to be a leader in for the short term gains.
No need to cry about chasing market share, I think we've seen enough of those posts in here.

Yeah, it really sucks that McDonald's got rid of the Big Mac just so they could chase KFC money.

I'm genuinely curious about what makes getting Halo 4's web file share up and running so difficult. I thought that the delay in bringing Reach's file share to Waypoint was going to result in the groundwork being laid for Halo 4 as well, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I'm not saying there's no work at all to be done or anything, but what makes Halo 4's implementation so much more difficult to do?
It doesn't really affect me significantly since I'm not a part of any content-creating community, but I can see how those that are would be upset over another delay.

That's not fair. The people that are positive about the game have made criticisms. Like that one thing that wasn't so good, and that other thing that's not in the game that they don't really miss because they never use it, but they totally sympathize with the people that did use it.
And they feel really bad for 343 because the game is gonna be great once everything gets fixed and updated and patched in. Sometime in early 2013.
On the other hand, kylej's tyrannical rule has brought us the mockery of developer design, copious amounts of salt, siglemic, girls in yoga pants and shoutouts to porn stars.
I'd mark this thread as a success.

I wasn't commenting on the removal of features with my analogy but on that issue I agree about campaign theatre, fileshare and a couple of Forge features shouldn't have gone.
If you look at the reasons why they are missing or have issue I don't think 343i removed those features to just focus on COD market grabbing. They removed or have incomplete work on those features due to other reworks in the engine e.g. campaign theatre against the new graphics techniques employed. Fileshare has obviously been reworked but is not ready for public consumption.
I think a lot of what we see now is them preparing the engine and studio talent for next generation and Halo 5. Sure I could agree they could have basically just added content and kept Reach intact but once again that is hardly Halo 4 now is it? No one wanted Reach 2.0. Unfortunately I think a new studio, console limitations and current FPS genre have combined and left this last 5-20% for 343i to keep working on with Halo 4. When I look at the franchise level though I'm quite happy with 343i. The books, FUD, tournaments, more playlist management than before and everything linking up I'm a happy Halo fan.
Sure I want smaller maps, sure I want better connections in game and sure I want the community to like the gametypes and objective style I do. What I don't do is load up my expectations on to a game developer or flip my attitude trying to get them to bend to my wants. I know it's a tired argument but I certainly feel like Reach was a test bed for 343, Halo 4 is them cutting their teeth and getting dirty with next generation Halo 5 being their real sweet spot.
Also team downer in this thread really need to stop circle jerking each other. It actually stops other members from even posting their positive thoughts or dare I say criticisms as well.

You know, I've been less doom & gloom than other (read: most) folks in this thread, but the news that fileshare won't be up and running until a still unknown date in 2013 kinda has my spirits broken.
And the illogical removal of Team Slayer Pro (even though I don't play it) and KotH has me feeling not very confident in 343s post-launch support.
Am...am I banned from the thread?
