Nintendo Downloads - December 2012

Yeah, they really should. Even NoE's stepped it up this past year.

And I think they released one of the GB Bomberman games earlier this year too, so it's probably the second.

I was about to ask when the heck did they release Bomberman on the 3DS VC and then I realised your most likely talking about Japan and behold there is one on there. God damnit NOA get your crap together :/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_games_for_Nintendo_3DS_(Japan)

Just look at that list, its god damn depressing, I think would have bought pretty much all of that had it come out in NOA.

So what's the deal with Donkey Kong Country...did Rare and Nintendo not have an agreement to have it play on the Wii U?

I thought Nintendo owned the rights to it.

Is it possible Rare still has some say and pull the rug on it?

I just assumed an HD Remake was coming or something similar.

Holy crap, the eShop release of Bit.Trip Saga is only going for $15? That's incredible. I already have the Wii compilation disc, but might have add this one to my collection...

I have the Wii Disc, the 3DS retail version, Bit Trip Runner and Void on WiiWare and I really have no qualms about buying them all again. Bit Trip Runner is worth it. Maybe one of my fav games of the last 5 years. I really really really hope they have sorted out the Framerate problems for this though, it was dumb luck I finished Runner on the original 3DS Retail release.

Are the framerate issues only when you have 3D enabled, or do they show up in 2D mode as well?

A ton of games on the Japanese eShop next week including New Love Plus and Resident Evil Mercenaries. Really promising sign that both Konami and Capcom are embracing the eShop with cheaper digital re-releases. I'm holding out for a digital EX Troopers:)

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
Hereupon I make a motion to amend Nintendo Downloads' list with download sizes, at least for the WiiU titles. The rationale being there's no way currently to check a download size before passing the whole Add-funds procedure, while WiiU downloads can be sizable.

I'll do my duty (all PAL stuff):

NintendoLand 1.1.0 patch: 302MB
Rayman Legends Demo: 521MB
Trine2: 1880MB
Nano Assault Neo: 49MB
YouTube: 27MB

Hmm...

I could add this to the Club Nintendo spreadsheet...

Tthe DKC games made the Transfer, I was able to redownload my copy of DKC2, also R-Type 3 which has also been pulled from the shop. Any game thats been pulled from the store you'll still be able to redownload to your WiiU, its just people won't be able to buy them anymore.

Well, I wasn't able at all to redownload them. I had them all on my SD card (this is useless), made the transfer, now I can re-download every single title BUT DKC trilogy, which disappeared. Are you sure you redownloaded and not just transfer from your Wii memory to your Wii U memory? I'm actually thinking about complaining.

Are you looking for the titles in the main Shop pages? They'll only appear in your history / "titles you've downloaded" page.

We come a long way since 40MB limit! :lol

Hm, the new Harvest Moon game any good? Compared to FoMT?
Haven't played FoMT, but A New Beginning is amazing. There's TONS of things to do once the good stuff kicks in, and you can choose to specialize on some things or do a bit of everything. In addition to the usual stuff like raising crops and animals, shipping your stuff, building up things, and finding your better half, there's also gardening, mining, traveling, and several other stuff. Granted, I haven't played many games in this series, so these features are likely not entirely new, but the game is packed, so you shouldn't get bored with it.

The only downside is that the tutorial is really long (lasts almost the whole Spring of the first year), but once you get past that you're pretty much ready to go. I got the game the day it came out on the eShop, and already have 32 hours clocked. It's pretty damn addictive if you like the series.

Damn you Nintendo for having a region lock on the 3DS. :(

We are kindred spirits. RUNNER is my game of the generation; I own everything BIT.TRIP that Gaijin has released on every platform / format available, will support everything those guys do. I have Saga on cart but love the games so much I don't think I'll be able to resist having it always on my system, and if they actually did some work on it to fix some of the flaws? Bliss.

There's something funny about a series of digital games being released together as a retail collection on cart which is now being released digitally. :p

Runner is my fav too, I can play that sorta game all day.

I tweeted the Bit Trip guys asking there had been any fix to the Frame Rate probs in Runner for the eShop release of Saga, they said none at this stage but may update it later on. Kinda sucks, but still all of those games for 15 bucks is a steal. They still got my money.

Are the framerate issues that bad?

I have all of the games on WiiWare already anway, but a portable version would be ace.

First 2 worlds not soo much, but it did make things hard in the 3rd world. But I managed to complete it so it is playable, but just be warned it is somewhat noticeable and I did die a few times due to it on the last stage.

Just checked it on the eshop and it looks like Code of Princess is getting a digital release on January 3rd.

I'm buying bit trip saga whenever that comes out on e shop. Always wanted to play the runner game on the 3DS. I just hope they patch the frame rate issues eventually.

I thought it was good. A large amount of characters to play as, great music, likable characters, and some rpg elements are thrown in as well. My main issue is the slowdown it suffers from when played in 3D which can slow the game to a crawl in the busier parts. It runs fine otherwise though and I felt I got my money's worth out of it.

Code of Princess on the US eShop in the first January update.

Edit: apologies, I didn't read above as my page hadn't refreshed.

I wouldn't recommend anyone hold their breath for this.

I've been thinking of picking this up, retail version is down to $29.99 on Amazon.
I wonder if the eShop price will match this. Looks like Amazon's stopped offering the art book; they still had it last time I looked.

Chasing Aurora is now half price on the Australian eShop, should be the same on the European eShop.

Little Inferno has a 33% off sale too.

Shit, Wario Land 2 today? Can't wait, it was the first game I ever got for my GBC, haven't played it since I was a kid. Is it really the vanilla GB version and not Color though?

It's colour in Japan and Europe so almost definitely color in the US.

LA was the DX version. i don't see why they'd choose the worse version on purpose.

If WL2 is the b&w version and not the color one I will fucking flip

I've been waiting months for it, I don't want a gimped version.

I don't get it either but I'm just basing it on what I see listed and how crappy NoA's been for the past couple years. I was kinda surprised LA was the DX version when it was put up to be honest

Gunman Clive is up on the European eShop now. A bit bummed it didn't show up on the front page, but I hope it should still be easy enough to find.

Hey beril,
Can you confirm Gunman Clive's UK price for me? The UK Nintendo site says it should be £1.79 / €1.99 but the UK eShop prices the game at £1.99 (as of a few minutes ago ~14:50).
Cheers.

The disparity is a bit odd, I'll contact nintendo about it.
I double checked the spec sheet I sent them and it seems the price I set was indeed £1.99, which I guess isn't really fair to the british... sorry about that. I didn't know the pricing standards in the UK, and was unsure about the lower threshold so I just went with an even number there too

Out of curiosity, how big are the file sizes for the typical eShop games? I plan on picking up at least Mighty Switch Force, Sakura Samurai, Pushmo, Crashmo, and possibly Mutant Mudds...just want to have an idea how much space that's gonna eat up on the 4GB SD card.
