Halo |OT13|

It's like some folks on here forgot that this game came with a 2 week free live code, which coincides with those numbers and the decline.

People who bought the game for campaign played it for 2 weeks online, then either couldn't afford the renewal or didn't like getting owned, or saw it as a worthwhile investment. Couple that with bloops 2 and there you go.

Is this free for premium members? I just bought the BF3 premium on 360 for $7 yesterday. Spent most of the fday yesterday downloading the four free 2gb map packs and three 1.5gbs title updates.

So many great PC attributes that came over to consoles with the updates. Tweak the HUD, server browser, rent servers, voice communication settings, etc. Really impressed.

Console BF3 had a server browser from the beginning, presumably because EA realised that providing something which benefits your title in a plethora of ways is a good thing.

Comment section on 343's Crazy Halo 4 Custom Gametype: Binary Slayer:

I know there's been lots of complaining, essentially since launch, but the thing that gets me is that EVERY community has something to complain about.

They really didn't please anyone who cares about Halo with this game... Except for IGN, who gave them every award possible, which we all know isn't biased.

that's a "crazy custom game" the same way turning on fiesta and super low gravity and high speed is a "crazy custom game"

it's the sort of thing 14 year olds come up with.

So, any word about getting 1-flag or assault back? It would be nice if with Halo 4 they handled DLC in a more interesting manner, adding more than just maps the way BF3 does.. It would be awesome to have the return of the Chopper via DLC, as well as new gametypes, etc. I would love for FF to be added, maybe utilizing SP Ops and MP maps..

But most of all, and I imagine this is more reasonable, 343 really needs to give players more control of the game, and bring back more staple features and gametypes. If we could get a classic playlist I think things would pick up in a positive manner. After that, I would love if they considered re-engineering global ordinance in a way that plays out more predictable and less random. The game really needs map control to come back.

No one is quitting out of close matches. Why are you guys so surprised that the matches JIP places you in are lopsided? You're out of your mind if you consistent expect to be placed in competitive games. The lopsided ones are the ones which need JIP the most.

Getting JiPed on Solace on a one man team in the first minute of the game just after the other team manages to snag both Sniper Rifles and the Incineration Cannon is not awesome. It shouldn't even be a possibility.

Grand Theft Auto is one of the most overrated franchises of all time imo.

Also the Walking Dead Telltale game is really good.

What!?? The PS2 GTA's where phenomenal, seeing a 3D living breathing world with that much character was beyond mindblowing.

I agree that the worlds were cool, but for me the mechanics were bad that I just couldn't have any fun in the worlds. I like what Rockstar has made this gen though!

Sure would be nice, especially considering 7 (8, really) of the 13 maps we have now are asymmetric (or feature asymmetric team spawns) with...zero asymmetric gametypes. It'd require a sizable amount of work for the patch, though. You'd have to patch in the ability to have rounds, a proper sudden death mechanic for flag/bomb carriers, overhaul the spawn system which seems woefully inadequate since Forgers can't force spawns away from teammate locations very easily, and add a whole bunch of CTF options (including waypoint visibility on carriers, proximity contesting, proximity flag returning, etc.). For me to take objectives seriously in this game, global ordnance has to get the axe - I've defended or stormed the base on Solace with a lucky Incineration Cannon or Sticky Detonator drop that I didn't earn half a dozen times by now. At the minimum for Assault they'd have to fix the Grifball arm time option, but as far as I'm concerned being able to disable the throw, having a proper explosion to discourage people trying to disarm at the last second, and making players clip through the ball instead of being able to "kick" it by running into it are all required options to have Assault work properly. Ideally, Assault would be a separate gametype so we didn't get the Grifball announcer intro, but I'm keeping my expectations low for now.

Bottom of the page!

I will say that dicking around the cities and multiplayer are fun. Other than that, I just don't get the craze.

You are both terrible people and should feel ashamed.

The games where outstanding for their time and provided a sandbox which was hard to rival - the missions had interesting set ups and the humour was fantastic. Maybe going back to them now would make them feel dated, but at the time the controls/ mechanics/ gameplay in general was leagues ahead of the competition.

I found out last night that Halo 4 is 100% more fun to play when you have the explicit version of the album "Crunkest Hits" by Lil Jon playing along side the game.

This post is not parody and approved by Heckfu™.

GTA IV and Chinatown Wars are good. And V looks good.

Maybe if I played the PS2 games on a PC I'd like them more, so at least they'd look OK and have a decent framerate.

I feel bad calling people out on another forum, but I saw someone make a post on HBO saying something along the lines of the fact that without randomness to let lesser skilled players get kills that the game would be predetermined and boring - I just dont get how people can have that view - sure the better player would win more often but the fun comes from the gameplay, not from the random bullshit that comes with ordnance - and if matchmaking did its job the game would be great if randomness was removed in my opinion.

I don't get the "fu" in "heckfu." Is that like kung fu? What's the point of it?

That's an often-asked question.

For those that don't know the first half, the Heck represents part of my last name.

The fu half of Heckfu comes from an era of gaming that was transitioning from a simple 3-character moniker to register high scores in games to a full fledged 'enter username' up to a full 7 to 10 characters! It was a magical time in gaming where you could enter your full name for some or a more clever nickname for those whose couldn't fit their name.

I was in the latter camp and couldn't fit my full last name and thought my first name is too drab to use to register what I assumed would be scores world-known! So I looked through my game catalog for inspiration when I came upon this gem, and thus Heckfu was born...nay, REborn.

Worst origins story ever.

Pretty sure I enjoyed that wolverine movie that came out a few ago more.

SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT NEWS EVERYBODY

Since 2001 there has only been one level in the FPS Halo series that I have never beaten on Legendary. Tonight, I sat down and said "FUCK IT!" and played through the Library. I would still rather stab myself in the genitals than play that poo poo again.

You may now continue with your business.

I never said it was a particularly GOOD story, but every story has its beginning...and it's not the beginning or the end of the story that is really important...it's the journey.

So we got Forward Unto Dawn Blu-Ray delivered today, and just finished watching it. Glorious. The actor that plays Lasky has the best crying face I've seen in a move. Nasty, unseemly, slimy. It's perfect.

After feeling completely disenfranchised by Halo 4, I'm not a lock-in for the next Halo or the next Xbox, but I sure as heck will watch and buy another movie, if they choose to make one.

GTA Hate? smh halogaf

GTA games were revolutionary. Glad they took it in a more serious tone in IV, I loved it. Some of the best stories and dialogue in gaming.

Best worlds too. But thats a Rockstar thing. They have to top RDR in GTAV

Halo 2 died because Microsoft wanted to cut all the remaining support for the original Xbox. Since it was all or nothing with original Live support, Halo 2 had to go down with the rest of the ship.

Hell, they STILL have "Original Xbox gamers may be unable to hear this message" text when you're sending messages. How many dash updates have they had since then where they could have gotten rid of that line?

I was being... sarcastic :p

Sorry to disappoint, but "Frenemies" has been around since Wordament launched on Windows Phone. It's like a rivals system in other games, but auto-includes your friends.
Dammit, bleh.
