Hopefully the last batch of Sonic Racing screens, so I can stop fiddling with the screenshot buttons and coming up last. Multiplayer is pretty much flawless.

I think this may be my favourite game on the system, but I gobble up SEGA nostalgia.

Hey Vita people, I had a weird issue playing Gravity Daze on the train today, on the ride up it worked fine, then on the way back, I started it up, got a weird 2 minute warning message I can't really remember, and then after 2 minutes got kicked out of the game back to the home screen. When I tried to start it up again it kept trying to connect to the internet and wouldn't let me start the game. Even when I turned Wi-Fi off it wouldn't let me start the game without trying to connect to the internet. So I ended up playing Frobisher Says and a PSX game instead.

Any ideas what was going on? Really wanted to play Gravity so I was kinda annoyed!

Great screens, duder! How many players does it support?

So if third party memory cards haven't happened yet odds are they won't be happening any time soon right? Trying to decide if the 32gb card is in my near future or not :(

So strange. Golden Abyss was the first time I didn't feel gimped using analog sticks in a shooter, and it was solely due to gyro helping me fine tune some headshots.

I felt exactly the same. Part of why GA was the only one I played twice.

So if third party memory cards haven't happened yet odds are they won't be happening any time soon right? Trying to decide if the 32gb card is in my near future or not :(

It's either because there isn't a big enough market, or Sony hasn't licensed the tech to anyone to keep a grip on it. With Chinese factories able to make shit fast and cheap I have to assume the latter.

Hopefully it gets a 64gb card in the next 6 months but that is just hope on the my part.

Not gonna happen... sony fucked with the memory cards and not including internal memory in the Vita just to not have any memory exploit...

Enjoying Motorstorm Arctic Edge tremendously despite the ugly upscaled graphics.

Why not replace car models, increase texture size and make this a crossbuy/crossplay PSN release?

Hope it's OK to make a giveaway like this.
So I've got 2 codes that can be used over EU Bandai Namco website to get a discount on Touch my Katamari and Ridge Racer Vita, These came with Shinobido 2, but my copy is used and I don't know if the codes work or not. If anyone wants them just PM me and I'll send them to you.
These codes need to be used at the EU Bandai Namco site and offer the games with an 8 Pounds/10 Euro discount

I wish the Vita would internally render PSP games at a higher resolution instead of doing bilinear filtering, would look much better

Well, got the co-op in the chase level with a Japanese (?) player just a moment ago since I couldn't sleep. So, yay.

Leaves winning a 4-player versus level (WHY.jpg, didn't we do this?) and then versus wins for the online. :(

Hard to tell without the message, but sounds like it could be that it's trying to check your Plus membership (presuming you got GR from that), and won't let you play without that check.

Check your error history for the error and let us know what it was.

Morning vitaBros

Woke up and checking the steam sale and I realised something

Vita is the only other platform (other than steam I mean) where I own no retail games and everything digitally.

I think regardless of price problems Sony should be commended simply for having every single game for sale digitally. It reminds me of early steam and it certainly massively appeals to me.

Yep, having every game digital is a Plus! (Geddit) sorry uh, anyway it makes life a lot easier when you're too lazy at times to go retail.

(Some of) You guys would not believe the sales on iOS and Android...some of the games I have to say are quite comparable. Not all of course, but damn, really helps choosing between the simpler multi-mobile platform titles that are usually overpriced on Vita (not much difference in content). I guess it makes sense with the userbase..but they're pushing it a bit too steep with some Vita titles imo.

Eg Super Monkey Ball on Android vs Vita.. sure the control and framerate is better on Vita...but the maps...the fun etc.. not worth 25x the price! .. PvZ.. (Eufloria? If that ever lands).
Other titles, (even iOS types) really benefit from the extra power and controls (GTAIII / JSR- although they are nice as spares when I don't have my Vita with me - and at $1 each.. come on). Even Max Payne is a lot of fun - would be brilliant on Vita!

I'm kinda glad anyway, got a ridiculously nice selection on Vita now, spoiled for choice really. No space either =/ hurts to delete titles..might start getting used to switching out the memory cards (same account) - where do you guys keep your spares?

-also SFxT is growing on me. Time for some PSASBR... been missing it recently.

There are a few categories for me

1) simple time killers like jetpac joyride that function equally well on a vita or iPad and don't need buttons. I'll most likely get these on iPad.

2) games like money ball that work much better with buttons but have a huge price differential. I just won't buy these on either platform. Ios controls aren't as good, and vita price are too high

3) games I love which need buttons but the price gap is still quite high (eg JSR). These I'll decide if the vita price is ok and then buy. I won't use the ios price as a measuring stick because everything there is almost forced to be $1-2

4) games only on vita - well duh.

I wonder if that just includes the bonus stuff in a box, or actually includes a retail version of the game. If it does include a cart wouldn't one be able to play the game on their non-Japanese PSN account? (assuming they had all the account details needed to login to the Japanese version of PSO2)

Really interested in importing if I could.

Yeah, this seems likely. Gravity Rush disables network features while you're playing (from memory) so I'd think that's what the issue boils down to.
Like Carl said getting the error from error history would really help to find out what the issue is.

I noticed a seller on Ebay had AKB1/149 Renai Sousenkyo for Vita up for sale. I've never heard of this game so intrigued I decided to use the power of Google to investigate.

WTF! It turns out AKB1/149 Renai Sousenkyo is a Japanese dating game that allows one of 149 girls to fall in love with you after wooing them. The game contains video clips, photos and movie scenarios for all the women.

Here's the official trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KOiBaU1oYtY

More importantly does this game have trophies?

AKB48 is a girl group that is incredibly popular in Japan (think boy band in America level of popular). The AKB48 group actually has several splinter groups which names I can't remember, and this is basically a you-get-to-romance-them game. Since it's a full retail game it probably has trophies.

Yes, it does.

Does anyone live on Long Island (NY), own a Vita, and use a Japanese account? I need to find someone to get these last two 箱！-Open Me- trophies. There's a multiplayer "box," but the multiplayer is local. I think the hardest part (even after I go back) will be finding someone else with a Vita to play it with. ><

are there lots of players?

I can't imagine that it wouldn't be. The localization would cost next to nothing, and it was developed first party. The only thing that could possibly keep it from coming over is no one caring about it. I read some Japanese people's comments about it, and most of them thought it was overpriced for a game that has many Flash equivalents.

Oh, by the way I meant the 100円 version.

Eeeeeh. Those type of games almost never release out of asia. Especially considering its about a regional band. 0,00000000000000000000000% chance of a western release.

I was talking about the box game. Sorry for the confusion. AKB is probably never leaving Japan, and you should be thankful for that.

I'm surprised how much better Vita is at multitasking and general speed than ps3. Only weird thing is I'm not sure how loggin into my account works so friends can see me online. I guess it's by opening the friends application and letting it run on the backround by pressing ps button.

Oh yeah, sorry. I agree with your comment regarding the box game then :)

Yeah but i don't think ps3 players can see the vita players as logged in when they are online.

I've had the system for ~7 months now and I'm still not sure how some of that stuff works, lol.

Yeah, I think keeping the Friends and Group Messaging applications open are the best way to keep yourself informed as to who's online etc. But if you don't go into Friends for a while.. it sets you to 'away'? and then you don't receive the notifications? Or something?

In general though I love the Vita's OS. Super snappy and it still kinda amazes me how easy it is to have a game open and then be able to browse the internet (thank you update!) and stuff.

Why is TurkishEmperor banned? (I did a posts search but there I still don't know which post got him)

lol, google search for "Turkish Emperor neogaf" gives me this post as first result in the PSASBR thread:

Turkish Emperor has been banned... bummer. Another fallen comrade.

23rd of august 2012

As for the current ban, 1-3 day ban for this post in the Xenoblade snubbed thread I guess:

Somewhere there is a rule that if you dont participate anything meaningful to a discussion, dont post. I think they reinforced that a while ago in one of the "LISTEN!" threads about how gaf is being run.

In his case, it made it seem like was downplaying the importance of the thread (or whatever) and thereby hindering worthwhile discussion, I guess. It was also his bad for posting it on the first page, where its easily spotted.

Fun fact, talking about this could get us banned too, since talking about bans is now bannable as well. Yay.
