Hey guiz, fanservice for Tamako Market already started before it even aired!

So I guess
...but she mentioned the staff’s propensity to “mother” the characters; so if one of them was showing too much skin they would cover her up saying “she would be cold!”
Doesn't apply to promotional pictures?

There should also be a simulcast list and other useful information too. Unfortunately, Kumagawa disagreed. We'll just have to wait until he calms down or something. Remember,『It's not his fault!』

Probably still kinda too early for a simulcast list, only four so far.

CR - Love Live! School Idol Project - Tuesdays 11:00am EST
CR - Encouragement of Climb - Wednesdays 1:00pm EST
CR - Mangirl - Wednesdays 1:00pm EST
CR - Ai Mai Mi - Thursdays 10:30am EST

I don't know about reading, but I'm suddenly more interested in trains.

Trains...

Trains <3
SC1st.jpg

Yes in case you're wondering, it is an official mascot.

Guys, stop making trains so filthy. They're just a means of transportation!

They are a way to enlightenment. Trains are the means to get to magical places.

Rail wars? Fuck! Why didn't I heard/know of it? My god, I want a anime for it!

I want one sooooooo bad now!

Oooh new OT. That gif. Fuck that I'm still on holiday break in florida.

Funny enough space bros is the reason I went to Kennedy space center yesterday.

Off to universal today. Fuck florida. Why are tickets to amusement parks so expensive??

Lucky bastard :(

What is this magical place? Something seems different here. It's beautiful and serene. Have we made it too the promised land?

It is the promised land! I love you all!
*hugs everyone, even that grumpy bastard Maedhros

I've heard that magazines like Megami and Nyantype request for certain things in their pictures. It has more to do with the magazine's intent than the creator's.

Yeah it's basically "free" advertising for the show in magazines, but some magazines require certain specific things to qualify. So for magazines aimed at dirty fangirls, there is usually a condition that they only want male characters in the poster artworks, and for lewd magazines for males they want something more raunchy or there's no point running it. Shows can choose to not feature in magazines, but that's a loss of visibility for the production.

8th highest poster in a community that loathes me :)
winning

It's because you want to be loathed. Posters who are gentlemen (like /XX/) are that way because they try to be. Because they do not want to be loathed - because they have something to share.

And posters who are perverts are that way because they can't help themselves. They should never be blamed for their actions or words!

Winter season is truly backlog season.

What shows were sorted out for the group backlog, anyway?

Wandering Son
Mouryou no Hako
Hataraki Man
Windy Tales

I was thinking of adding one more for a final weekday, but with sonicmj1 really busy, four sounds good.

It's incredible how this season don''t have at least one anime to watch... D:

Despite how, well, dire things appear there's usually one show that looked a bit iffy that actually turns out to be pretty good. I, personally, don't discover those shows because that would require subjecting myself to a number of terrible shows in the hopes of stumbling across a good one. However there are plenty of others in this thread who are more than happy to the canary in the coal mine, if you will. Let them do their work and pay close attention to their findings.

Nice. After all, despite how lacklustre this season is I am sure there will be a couple of good shows from it and a few holdovers from Fall.

Winter will be dull and kind of forgettable especially as I continue to look at my list for Spring and get so hyped for it, wish we could skip these three months, cryosleep like in Cowboy Bebop...

It could end up pretty fun.
I've got 5 shows to watch at least. Probably something else will end up being really fun.
Cant really think of a season that has been backlog only.

Almost through with Escaflowne. This show is so good that I can't believe I am sitting here watching it for the first time on BD. The visuals are perfect (a bit of grain, but the clarity is insane). It's slightly depressing to see such loving and painstaking hand-drawn work, as it's easy to remember that this show existed at the very end of an era that valued such craftsmanship. Just to show you how amazing it looks:

The soundtrack is moving. I can't believe all these feels. Those characters, these emotions! I'd like to be able to offer a more insightful and analytical post, but I'm afraid that I've been too busy just absorbing it all than focusing on every detail. Perhaps on my next watch. One interesting thing that I did pick up on was the design choice to keep Hitomi in her sneakers. She is usually found in her seifuku, but instead of the classic loafer, she constantly sports her runners. She is a sprinter as a metaphor - because she runs away from her problems. I thought this was interesting because it's designed around her archetype, rather than being an afterthought.

When this is over I'm not sure how I'll rate it - or if it's even necessary to put a rating on a show this impactful - but I know I'm going to remember it forever.

When was a bluray version released?

[Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water] - 13

This is the second episode of the shown storyboarded by Masayuki, someone who would go onto work on a number of Evangelion properties. It's a really visually engaging episode all round with a ton of fun sequences and great pacing. The animation is pretty top notch too, with far too many cool little details present that really didn't need to be there. This cut, in particular, is insane:

There's more to say about the ending of this episode, especially with regards to Nadia's character, but I don't want to quite get into that yet.

Beta testers, as I like to call them.

Those supersharp 90s noses.

It's refreshing to be honest. It's nice to see an actual nose, instead of the usual tiny . on face. Of course that's cute, but I really do like noses. They are very characteristic since they can come in all different shapes and sizes. I need more anime with noses.

Every season these kinds of posts always appears, I'm curious as to what you guys (everyone) want in an anime to appeal to you.

Ah, I see that makes more sense

I think I will watch Hataraki Man with you guys. Moyoco Anno can write some great drama and this one should be pretty good.

The ideal anime season would have to me, have one or two mecha, otome adaptation, some awesome super power anime, a good highschool drama, some bl or yaoi anime, and a shoujo with all male leads.

I just want more unique drama in similar style to Tatami Galaxy or Kuuchuu Buranko. Or anything that resembles a Makoto Shinkai movie. If nothing like this exists then I will just watch whatever show about cute girls until I get bored of them.

Interstella 5555 : The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem

Quite unusual and interesting for an anime film consisting of no dialog as it tells the story through with actions accompanied by electronic house music by Daft Punk.

The phrase action speaks louder than words really shines here as the scenes tells exactly what is going on, clear cut and simple. Daft punk music helps alot as their songs are very fitting for each scene. Leiji Matsumoto and Kazuhisa Takenouchi did a great job in trying to sync the scenes to Daft Punk's songs and also create awesome effects of space.

Few things I find amusing and maybe boggled is on how a gold painted vinyl record disk is able to power up a machine which can take over the universal and how there's even a vinyl record disc back in the renaissance(?) era.(I'm ignoring the technology that was also involved)

Overall I enjoyed it and I'm glad Daft Punk went through their ideas to create this movie as it's truly fascinating to see 2 different cultures work together to give us a visual and audio treat to watch.

Glad to see you liked it! I actually cried at the scene when they played "Something About Us". So good, so perfect.

Since this is backlog season I guess I should finally watch the Patlabor OVAs and TV series.
Maybe even El Hazard. Hmmm...
