It's more of a series of essays addressing various topics to do with sex, gender and genre. Of course, there's discussion of hentai but that doesn't fill up the whole of the book. It has sections on: censorship, the history of hentai, shoujo, BL, character types and so forth.

When asked about future collaborations with him Helen McCarthy actually said that he was far too knowledgeable and expensive to just be working on, say, more anime encyclopaedias. Which is of course, helpful because when he does write on the subject he's brining that whole wealth of knowledge to bear on the subject, where as many other "anime writers" only have experience with anime.

Actually, my confusion was simply that I didn't recognise what the show was at all, let alone the character - I think I must have only saw, like, two episode of the show back when it first aired. If I hadn't looked at the images URL, I'd have never figured out how it was. Didn't realise Kugimiya was involved in the show either.

Animation seemed more in-line with Phantom Blood quality. First half was kind of a drag too after that strong opening arc but I suppose transition has to happen now and then. Ending sequence lived up to the last two eps though! I had no idea the German people were so loud either.

Ok that does sound worthwhile then, should put it on my amazon wishlist to remember to pick it up when I have the opportunity.
It probably just sounds familiar, since Kaito Ishikawa (if that is the MC narrating at the end) has only had bit parts so far.

The Baseball Life To the Top! where all childhood progress happens below the waist. And finally it was Enterbrain Collection+ Amagami where we saw how Sugita gets his kicks and how to talk to girls about the health benefits of not wearing underwear.

It really does feel like French is more useful than English sometimes. I follow a couple of French accounts on Twitter even though I know very little French because they do a good job of bringing anime and sakuga stuff (videos, analyses, etc.) to my attention. It's a shame I don't understand their posts too well though.
Well, ANN does a good enough job of being quick to post anime news anyway.
I think I should be watching this. Do they always play cool games like Amagami?

Half and half. They also played Love Plus before, but they play a wide assortment of games. Just look for my old posts, I usually bolded the games they played each episode.
I wouldn't know. I've wiped all knowledge of that show from my mind.
I remember dakkumauji mentioning that they played Love Plus.
