Square-Enix ask you what do you want in 2013

Your optimism is all that gives me hope sometimes.

This was from September 2012:

This news comes from Shar, a fan who attended the Final Fantasy 25th anniversary event, and apparently had a chance to speak with Hashimoto himself.

“I spoke about a number of things with Mr. Hashimoto today. It looks like Versus won’t be at Tokyo Game Show. They’re first putting all their effort info FFXIV and the Lightning Saga finale.” Shar later added, “He said that we’re developing it, so please look forward to next year.”

Next year being this year.

Type 0 has exploration, it has even a world map and flights(and dogfights too), but i don't know the exact degree of freedom of exploration in towns.

Let's not forget the awesomeness:

Holy cow :), i did not know Type-0 was that amazing, i though it was mainly combat oriented

Now i have gathered double the frustration from Square, BD and Type-0

I dont know who made Grand Knight Saga, that is a 3rd Japan only frustration

One thing is for sure, Square is officially nuts

Another Kane & Lynch .. but make it very intensive like the first one, Retomoto Towers, Tokyo streets, lots of cops, bodies, people running everyone, madness, missions that you will get you in some serious problems, tough decisions to be made while Lynch doing his voice screaming.
Also put them again in some serious suits, gloves, let Kane wear the grey outfit again, let them change/buy their suits after missions, make them look like this again and make better ending :(

Type-0, yes. Making a Vita version and/or a 3DS version would require a ton of work.
Dunno give it an upres and maybe some AA if it's not too much trouble and it already looks better then P4G. I don't own a Vita though, going off footage I've seen around the web.

They know what we want.

Actually i think it is a trick, they will gather all the games that people want the most (Bravely Default and Type-0) and specifically those will never release outside Japan

Maybe if we just state we want FF13-3-4-5-6-7-8-9, then they release the ones we actually need

Towns are sort of just little hubs you can go to to revive your party, make purchases, and save your game. Oh, and shoot the breeze with NPCs.

So basically think FF1 Towns, only all in one square and that's about it. It was a little disappointing, since the Town Levels, especially Milites City, were awesome.

Towns in Type-0 are a single screen box with like 3 NPCs. I think a lot of people have an idea about Type-0 in their mind that doesn't really reflect the reality of the game. It's not as grandiose as you'd like to think.

The only things that are an absolute must for me from them are getting Dragon Quest 7 3ds and Bravely Default localized.

Dragon Quest X is in the "would be nice to get category" but that depends on if they charge a monthly fee or not.

I could care less about the hd rereleases of old stuff I already have.

That is true, but boy did I like the deom! (Despite my hands hurting from the way you control the game.)

In all seriousness, along with Versus and Type-0, I wouldn't mind a FFV and FFVI remake for 3DS or Vita. About time we got 'em, really.

I loved everything from Crisis Core (Genesis aside) and I'm just expecting an evolution of that. Bigger and more varied.

I realize that this isn't a full scale, typical PS1-2 FF game.

Am I expecting too much?

You're right. SE is actually working for the JP government and is trying to increase the JP population.

Other than more western Developed games I would like more remakes of old Taito Games.

This. Taito (and Hudsonsoft) staff and series deserve better.

Anyway we could all go on forever about all the things this terribly run company should be doing and many have already been covered so I'll save it to just one for each division.

Eidos: Stop trying to turn commercial genre series like Hitman and Tomb Raider into so called 'AAA' corporate blockbusters.

Taito: Hire GREV to develop G-Darius 2.

Enix: Hire Sandlot to develop a new Robot Alchemic Drive for Wii U.

Square: Announce this new IP for next gen consoles:

It's not up to snuff with the old PS1 games, I'll grant, but compared to the other FNC games it's great. It's a solid game.

Think Crisis Core with a world map and 14 PCs and you're more or less there.

I've always assumed this, haha.

Looks are one thing, but I can't imagine it touches P4G as a whole.

Indeed, Bravely Default is my top priority too

The rest would be just good to have

Wasn't Chrono Trigger considered "a failure" at half a million units? What in the FUCK does SE honestly expect from some of these? CT's numbers right there sound like a mind blowing success for an older game updated mildly and ported to DS, I kind of expect most of those Sony HD collections don't do half of that.

It was a failure at 800 effin K I believe. Seriously what did they expect?

I want every FF XIII game,

The Agito/Type-0
The Versus
The other stuff that was cut from FF XIII, assuming XIII-2 & Lightning Returns originate from the ideas they "cut" from the original game. And then decided to go back to.

In conclusion, Square needs to give what is owed (above). And then i don't care what after that, Kane & Lynch sequel, Sleeping Dogs sequel, new IP. w/e...... give us that game that will come over to the US and Europe and show people that japanese developers are still among the elite.

An easy goal would be to just announce a release date or show the next project (that won't get immediately shelved like X HD), before Last Guardian comes out........ though we may be getting new on Last Guardian, or maybe something from Square or maybe neither. But that is the current turtle race. Will last guardian be released first or one of the many games that square announced..... and then left on a shelf for many years.
