When asked about Steam and PC gaming, Kamiya replied on character limited Twitter that he doesnt know much and PC gaming isn't for him.
The damage is on insecure PC gaming pushers to make that response into "him being a complete dickhead", or for a fucking shameful article from cuntrag Kotaku to flesh out a full fictional agenda for the man.
Kamiya is the game design guy. He creates these ideas, his coders and team make them reality. If the more business minded head Inaba says "dudes we're going PC with this one" Kamiya will roll with it. For his personal gaming tastes he clearly just enjoys consoles a whole lot more and the ease of use they provide. Can't fault the man there. Just one display driver fuckabout for some people is one too many.

I got hit by some wacky Portal 1 stuff back in the day, GFWL is a consistent menace of crashes and savefile destruction, and I remember the Kingdoms of Alamur demo was an entirely black screen for the duration of gameplay before I googled the problem. I still kept trucking, but for the comfortably console only gamer dancing with PC for the few first times and not prepared to retype error codes into google and sift messageboard posts full of shit and occasionally a ray of light solution, it doesn't take much. Its playing pig ignorant to pretend all such issues never happen anymore ever.

I think Kamiya is allowed to not like playing games on a certain system for whatever reason he decides.
I don't think anyone has a right to tell him otherwise, or insult him for it when his comments were pretty plain as day and not a slight at the system itself. Even if it were some sort of childish slight, I'm pretty sure the PC won't be shedding a tear anytime soon so all the fan-wank nonsense needs to stop.

The PC has very little presence in Japan, I doubt there's anything more to it than that.
And Kamiya should probably know better than to reply to every idiot on twitter. Sure, you can think of some quasi-clever comeback to every dumb comment, but eventually they just drag you down to their level and make you look unprofessional.
