I have both of these, too, so... in terms of the physical quality of the sets themselves, the Madoka LEs are much nicer than the Bakemonogatari box.

Personally, I like Bakemonogatari as a show much more than Madoka, but I can't deny the niceness of Madoka's release.

In terms of overall package, the MAdoka LEs cost a bit more altogether but are much more worth it. I like Madoka more than Bakemonagatari as well. There is more physical swag like stickers and posters with Madoka, as well as 3 soundtracks. Bakemonagatari only really has the small artbook and some character commentaries with it. Overall I'd say go with Madoka. It is a more complete package and you will be happier with it if you are spending this kind of money.

Yeah if bought the Madoka sets, I can probably space out the purchases so it wouldn't cost me all at one time (1 set per month). The only that could probably screw that up is if they start running out of stock and out of print.

Yes, there are. Quite a number of them in fact. I can see why they would feel this way, especially if
they have no taste.
:p

Surely you should aspire to maintain an air of neutrality on this subject if you don't want to be impaled by One Piece fans.

The band goes on a trip to the Natsu Summer Festival in the mountains of Japan (or as Yui thinks at the beginning, actually inside a mountain). Sawako is the general of their trip and whips them into proper form to take on the festival (but not after a night of heavy drinking and a hangover on the bus ride there). She plans it out like a fucking battle, and Mio is totally into it. This is one of the first times she has really let loose. She even becomes infatuated with a left-handed guitarist and buys a t-shirt for their band instead of food.

Mugi needs to step her game up. No sneakers, the fuck? And if she wants to make that next show she's gotta run like a man! Get your knees up!

Seems next episode is another Azusa/Ui/Jun episode.

Honestly most OP fans I know have Baron as their #1 One Piece movie, and the only must-watch one, but yeah, I suppose it's not that strange. They're probably the same kind of people who thought Naruto Shippuuden 167 had bad animation, so whatever.

Now that I've finally made a breakthrough in catching up on the manga, the truth has been revealed to me. As long as I believe in myself, my will alone will make all my nakama believe in it too. Neutrality is for losers!

Is this one of those debates like with Gurren Lagann 04 where people are forced to resign from their lifelong positions for calling other people anuses?

Why haven't I watched this before now? It's pretty great.

I couldn't say, however that won't stop me hypothesising like an ass. It's a series that's over a decade old and anime fandom as a whole doesn't have a particularly strong interest in history. That's about the long and the short of it. When people are recommending shows or writing reviews or opinions about anime it tends to be from the very recent past. This shouldn't be surprising considering that the driving force behind most discussion of anime on the internet is new, currently airing shows. We go against the grain hear by actively going out of way to experience older works, such as when we do backlog seasons or when people write extensive reviews of older works.

It sounds like you haven't come across, or paid serious attention to, this thread (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173356) which lists many well loved anime works. This list was constructed from the population of NeoGAF in 2007 but despite it's age it remains useful nevertheless. I recommend that you consult it when considering what shows to watch.

As a counterfactual to my opinion on this might be something along the lines of "but what about those anime fans who think that everything was better in the 80's" to which I would reply: that faction is a small but vocal minority of largely older fans.

For some reason it's the most popular pairing in the show.

Spoilers for the end of the Heartcatch:
Does it count as masturbation if they get it on?

Yuri X Momoka is pretty close, as far as these completely-unsupported-by-any-evidence-whatsoever pairings go.

Speaking of, I found this last night, but had no chance to share it. And I'd figured you'd enjoy it more than I would.

Oh wow! :D

I like it a lot. Thanks!

She's got, like, a tragic backstory and everything bro. She's too cool for their juuyonsei shit.

That's the vibe I get from her haha. She's like "I've seen some shit", you guys have a long way to go before you reach my level. :lol

Ken's mom is a MILF. Holy shit.

Entertaining episode, maybe it was from this ep they got the idea to do Yayoi's character for Smile?

IIRC he said something along the lines of "those people are worse than putting your face next to an anus and breathing deeply", lol.

Yes, because it is.

How so? I thought it was fairly weak relative to the hype surrounding it, and taking into account Oda's involvement. Baron for me was much better structured, animated and directed, and had a much stronger emotional climax as well.

I love this episode, as it's so lively and full of energy. Something you would expect from them going to an outdoor music festival.
The next episode is interesting to say the least.

Strong World is mindless entertainment without any thematic goal beyond "this will make us filthy rich"?

Well, I wouldn't put it that way exactly, but sure. It doesn't really have much depth, there's a lot of action, and it's a pretty good fan crowdpleaser.

Every Precure mom is a MILF. Even Nao's mom.

They are right in Naruto's case, though. Just because it's deliberate it doesn't mean that the style of animation works at all with the scene at hand.
They were also right with Gurren Lagann COME AT ME 7TH

Don't get me wrong, Avengers is entertaining, but it might have less depth than any movie I have ever seen. There's literally no thematic core to the movie, it's just Loki being a douche and then everyone fights him because of reasons.

I don't know anything about the Hulk comics and I found Ang Lee's movie painful to watch. Especially the pretentious comic window cuts.

I don't remember TTGL 4 that much tbh, I should rewatch it.
As far as Naruto goes, that episode had godly animation, and even if Yama kind of botched that infamous Pain scene (I don't think that particular cut is very strong in and of itself anyway, he has done many better things), the rest of the episode was as good as any other Wakabayashi episode in terms of the craft.
