I'm actually glad Nintendo only gave us a 24 hour notice for this big Nintendo Direct. If they announced it a couple weeks before hand, the hype and anticipation would have taken a longer toll on all of us.

Have they ever given notice weeks in advance? It's usually always a day before thing.

I've read most of the thread, but I still stand by my prediction that this will focus on upcoming and unannounced "core" titles and exclusive Virtual Console releases (even if some of them aren't Nintendo dev/pub'd), to lure in the early adopters who have been too cautious so far.

My predix (yes I know, oddly specific and somewhat hopeful) -

Virtual Console (7 min detailing) including:
- GameCube (Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros. Melee)
- GBA games (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Metroid: Zero Mission, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow)
- DS games (Final Fantasy IV, Chrono Trigger, The World Ends With You)

(Iwata, in the past: "I am afraid I cannot say anything about [DS on Wii U] today. Please let me receive it as your opinion that there is such consumer need and let us study it internally.")

Wii U "core" line-up (2 min explanation)

- Game & Wario boxart and dated (30 sec)
- Lego City Undercover boxart and dated (30 sec)
- Dragon Quest X Online (2 min)
- Pikmin 3 boxart and dated (1 min)
- The Wonderful 101 details (3 min)
- Bayonetta 2 trailer (3 min)
- Kid Icarus: Uprising HD (2 min)
- Unveil of Monolith Soft RPG (6 min)
- Teaser of Retro FPS ("see more at E3") (2 min)
- Smash Bros. 4 logo + holiday 2013 announcement ("see more at E3") (1 min)

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Two hours until the special announcement that the Wii U's software drought will be cured by digital ports of games you still own and played five+ years ago.

Basically unveil their entire E3 line up during Nintendo direct? The main problem with your predictions are that they are "Nintendo fanboard crentric". Retro's game and Monolith RPG specifically, there are a hundred of new game possibilities that exist outside of these two developers. Hopefully there are 1-2 new first- party games announced, which seems probable, but then out of that its like a 10% percent chance any of those games will be from retro, and a slightly higher percent chance that it's from monolith.

w00t!

Actually, I'm quite excited about Wii U VC, with loads of Nintendo Club numbers to cash in and and a hankering to play the original Paper Mario after going through the sequel fairly recently. Otherwise, my expectations are minimal for this ND, I'd be surprised if any new games are announced - most likely it'll be more footage of a few games like Wii Fit U, Pikmin 3 (maybe with a release date), Wonderful 101, Game & Wario, Resi Revelations and Bayonetta 2 if we're lucky, plus acknowledgment of the OS issues and promise of a firmware update.

E3: Zelda 3DS, Mario Kart U, Smash unveil, Mario 3D Universe, Retro FPS unveil, at a minimum, there's heaps of megatons left.

Yep, this is what I'm expecting as well. Cool if they surprise us with more though.

Retro game teaser, monolith reveal and gamecube VC would already be enough for the Wii U part of E3.

The Wii U part at E3 will be Wii U Sports, Wii Fit U, price cut, software udates and repeat of previous demo reels. Maybe some Smash Bros pics. Just my 5 cents.

Just woke up and my body is ready.

What?! You really think that is all they are gonna do? Wii Fit U should come out before E3. And a Smash trailer is guaranteed.

This Direct is going to be bullshit just like all the others. Enjoy your bananas!

I see you're forgetting about those times where Nintendo announced major titles like Pokemon X & Y, NSMB 2, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Miiverse / Wii OS, Zombi U, Bayonetta 2, and the 3DS XL...all through Nintendo Directs.

I will only be happy if they announce a new startropics.

Or excite bots 2.

man excitebots was amazing. sadly it bombed so hard it didn't even releas in EU though, so hope for a sequel is probably slim to none.

that game was the definition of a stealth launch though, just came out of nowhere with zero marketing behind it, don't know why they sent it to die.
